I usually do it by most weeks at peak position, then top 10 top 20 and so on down the chart. Though Dont soppose it really matters.

I usually do it by most weeks at peak position, then top 10 top 20 and so on down the chart. Though Dont soppose it really matters.

 

The reason why I dont do that way is because charity singles for example have a few weeks at number 1 then plummet and have a really bad chart run. To me, I think a song that has 1 week at number one but is in the chart ages and has a great chart run is more successful.

The record label made the stupid decision to delete the single so its initial chart run was 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-5-out.

 

It re-entered at the start of the next year on downloads very highly, so it would have had a very decent run had they not deleted it.

Some real classics there. I'm a bit surprised that 'Stan' is quite low as it wasn't released through that crazy 90s period. But oh well. I guess some songs from 2007 onwards will be undeservedly high because of the extension of their chart-runs during the download era.
