i watched last night's after only watching it once since the live episode and what i really love about soaps is that you can immediately get back into it again. it's like so much happens but so little does at the same time if you know what i mean..

the one last night was really good though it was so tense near the end! like jark i really liked the scene in the underground with janine and lauren. tough could someone explain to me why (not sure of her name, biancas daughter who they were looking for..) ran away and why she ignored lauren at the end? also is janine gonna get mugged or something cos those girls at the end behind her looked pretty shifty..

Can someone give me a basic, and i mean basic overview what has happened please?

You know you COULD try I-Player...

Basic overview;

- Shirley and Jane both found out that Phil and Ian had been shagging Glenda. Shirley goes on a rampage and tries to dunk Glenda's head in Jane's deep fat fryer. Glenda leaves, Jane ditches Ian, Shirley refuses to marry Phil but they ARE still a couple and have gone on some sort of non-honeymoon.

- Carol had one last meet-up with that scrote Connor, only to tell him he was a little bit $h!t and that she never felt anything for him.

- Janine finally confessed that Whitney was missing - everyone goes ballistic and calls Janine a witch. Janine and Lauren go searching the streets for Whitney and bicker a lot whilst forming a surprisingly good comedy duo, Lauren finds Whitney but gets completely blanked and Whitney disappears into some shady nightclub. Cue DUFF DUFFs.

:o I missed all that! iPlayer it is. Thank you Shoat for that, it's much appreciated.

Janine was AMAZING. Absolutely loved her more than I already did this week <3

I rather like NUU Lauren too.

Abi and Jay are pretty cute as well !

If you're only going to iPlayer two episodes than make it last Friday and this Tuesday. Two of the best eps in a loooong time. Last week on the whole was disappointing and the way Glenda's exit was written was extremely underwhelming but I'm used to that from Daran Little's episodes now. Carey Andrews and Simon Ashdown wrote all of this week's episodes between them and they're my two favourite writers so obviously this should be a big week.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was the only one who loved NU LAUREN until this week, YOU'RE ALL FILTHY BANDWAGONERS. (Seriously though, I love her so much)
That's because prior to this week she was frankly a bit shit. You placed your bets and eventually won but this was the first time she's been a strong character!
I prefer new lauren. I never really liked old lauren. The character was nothing to write home about and a cheap ploy to make her seem interesting in the Max and stacey storyline. I still think there is something going on with Lauren that she isn't sharing. Something that happened in the states.
And that, my friends, is why Janine is the best (female) character in the show. Wonderful episode if pretty difficult to watch in parts.

OMG. Tonight's was utterly fantastic! Some great dualogues from Lauren/Whitney, Lauren/Rob and Whitney/Rob. This storyline is really brilliant and I find it better that they've left the whole story for one week, rather than spreading it out over multiple weeks. Hyped for the conclusion on Comic Relief tomorrow night!

Oh, and I agree with Jark that some scenes were a bit disturbing.

Edited by THEO.

A very powerful episode, I was on the edge of my seat at the end! Glad Whitney's safe now, hopefully that family who found her won't ignore her.
Why did they bother with a 5 min slot that was a waste of time. Does anyone know if there is an episode on Sunday, for today's missing episode.

The whole thing was just a little bizarre and OUT OF PLACE during Comic Relief. Not only was it NOT comedic in any way, but it really had NOTHING TO DO with the general message of the evening anyway.

Whitney's issue wasn't that she was a homeless girl with no money - she had had a strop and WILLINGLY run off with a pimp because she wanted to prove her friends wrong and cut off her nose to spite her face. They can't argue that a Comic Relief fundraiser would have resolved THAT situation for her!

I'm not sure I agree with you there Shoat. Whitney was driven out of the family home, felt like she had nobody who genuinely cared for her after Ricky sided with Carol in the wake of her betrayal, Bianca in prison and her only friend - Janine - turned against her. I think they did a good job in portraying her as somebody with not many avenues, and Rob came along and offered her a 'place to stay'. Yeah, Whitney should've known it was too good to be true but she's always been blind when it comes to men and I imagine hundreds of girls do actually fall for that crap.

No, they're an episode behind at the minute. There'll be a double at some point in the next month or so to catch up.

I'm not sure about that - I take your point with Bianca and Janine, but Ricky would quite happily have taken her back I'm sure. And again, I don't see how on earth a Comic Relief fundraiser would have solved any of that for her!

And Lauren's point about Tony was a thoroughly valid one - Whitney of ALL people must have had some idea of what sort of man Rob was. And she'd already begun to realise all was not well, yet she STILL got in that car.

Has the whitney storyline concluded? If so, what a total disappointment. The storyline has only been going on since february. Barely a hard hitting storyline done in a realitstic way. Why not drag it out? Let whitney get fully into the world of prostitution.
I thought it was great, personally, with Whitney and the other prostitute giving great performances. Although I also agree that it didn't really fit in well with the whole evening. Anyway, I'm glad Whitney's safe now and I want to see where they go next with her!
I don't think it IS over. Spoilers for the next couple of weeks suggest

Whitney remains missing

Janine, Whitney and Lauren were all fantastic in the last couple of episodes. Really impressed with NUU Lauren!
