I look forward to that as i think it will be good, and im sure it will be written by the brilliant simon ashdown aswell.

Did anybody else find the Kat/Ronnie showdown completley underwhelming?

As for Phil, I totally agree. When they try and keep him as a 'hardman' it's just embarassing.

It's the sight of him treating Abi, a perfectly likeable fourteen year old girl who makes his almost-son happy, like dirt... it's revolting. But the writers aren't much better when it comes to Shirley, she's usually got some nasty jibe to slip in about Abi. Why do they have to be so harsh? The Mitchell unit as it stands now isn't doing it for me at all.

Agreed about Phil. He's a little pointless as a character these days, clearly only there to maintain a Mitchell presence. I wouldn't be surprised if Steve McFadden is off within the next year or two...

As for the Ronnie and Kat showdown, yes, it was ridiculously underwhelming but I expected that. I'm hoping that isn't where it finishes because they were acting as if Ronnie stole a barrel of beer from The Vic. I expected BLOOD, or at least a great deal more aggression.

EE won best continuing drama at the television BAFTAs at the weekend (beating Corrie :D)

The episode they won for was Billie's death so Lindsay Coulson gave the acceptance speech. Charlie Brooks and Nina Wadia were there too presenting another award. Jessie Wallace was nominated for supporting actress for her role in The Road To Coronation Street but didn't win unfortunately, but Road To Corrie did win best single drama which I was pleased about.

SPOILER. Well sort of. Depends if you count it as newsworthy

Ricky gets offered a job in india. Clearly tied into Sid Owen's announced temporary departure from the show

What the fuck?

Are they short of lazy, averagely-skilled mechanics in India or something?

I must say the almost total lack of big ongoing storylines at the minute is distressing me a little. I want something I can anticipate!

I really hope so, him and Dot are boring the hell out of me at the moment!
Oh I think all of the Dot stuff of the last few months has been absolutely excellent! She never bores me, I love her an unhealthy amount.
Haha well I'm the complete opposite! If they'd just give Big Mo as much time as Dot that'd be GRAND.
Anything with Dot is always great viewing, but that Edward character really creeps me out.

I think the character of Dot in general is vastly overrated. I know everybody seems to love her but she's always quite irritated me to be honest, she's always so stubborn. It really wouldn't bother me if she announced she was leaving.

Give me Pat out of the long serving characters anyday.

I love dot. Brill character. I am happy to see this Jim storyline conclude. They have done it fantastically though.

"I let another man...hold my hand!!"
What an emotional episode :snif: one of the best episodes I've seen for a long time
