The BBC had a press screening yesterday of New Years Eve, New Years Day and the following episode there after. It seems all the critics going off their Twitter pages were

deeply affected by the baby swap but all agree it is very well done.

Also, apparent spoiler from one of the episodes:

Kat is given the baby to hold at the hospital and straight away screams it isn't her child and wants her son. The nurses put it down to grief and don't listen to her as they have no reason to suspect anything. So Kat's cries go unheard.

Sounds grim even for EE!

That's actually going to raise an interesting question of

whether Kat KNOWS it's not her son or whether she's in extreme denial. It could be the latter but I guess we'll be able to make our own minds up.

I'm anticipating the Christmas ep more at the minute but I'm sure the

.......baby swap.......

will be quite something.

Eastenders is back on form, i am after about four years of liking Stacey looking forward to seeing her comeuppance after the affair debacle.
Why am I the only person on Team Stacey? :( If I was Ryan and it was a tossup between the mother of my baby and a psycho freak who tried to murder me I know who I'd prefer.
Stacey is the best she will be sadly missed.

Are we forgetting that Stacey actually has murdered somebody?

But it's not about what they've done, it's the way the affair has been portrayed - sleazy as hell basically. Stacey seems to have no qualms whatsoever about wrecking a home and Ryan, after spending months trying to extract love from Janine, doesn't seem bothered about playing away either. There's no doubt in my mind who is the sympathetic character in the whole shebang and Stacey it ain't!

Really? Because I think it's been made quite clear that Stacey actually DOES love Ryan, she just can't admit it because she'd feel like she's betraying Bradley..

Really? Do you? I refer you to this DS interview with Lacey published today:

What is the main attraction of Ryan for Stacey?

"I think it's just purely a physical attraction. She's really attracted to him and he's really attracted to her! They haven't been able to keep their hands off each other. There's been times when she's wanted everything from him and times when she just wants a bit of fun."

I've always been Team Janine to be honest. Usually this was greated with the reaction that I was a CRAZY PERSON but I'm glad to see this is changing.

I think all three are behaving TERRIBLY, and none of them are deserving of any sympathy.

Stacey's breaking up a marriage basically just because SHE CAN and because she and Kat thought it would be a wonderful little bit of entertainment. Ryan's quite aware of just how enormously difficult it was for Janine to open up and allow someone to just love her, yet has gone and thrown it away anyway. And Janine can't tell the difference between her feelings being hurt and someone suffering an agonising and slow death after being poisoned.

There are NO winners in this little triangle.

NEW SPOILER ALERT:

Apparently, tomorrow's episode will be Thomas Law's last appearence as Peter Beale!

I think I'm now going to be able to forgive nu-Lauren for her atrocious existance in the show for that last scene. Wonderful.

Rather gutted about Thomas Law's forthcoming exit though. I do hope they bring him back eventually. Mainly for his looks I admit. OK JUSt for his looks but whatever.

i now realise why i try not to watch this i get way too into it!

whoever that woman is he started singing at that carol is actually amazing! though i don't think she'll ever beat jane or janine..

cannot wait for tomorrow after that!

:banghead MAX! I hate him so much...

Janine & Kim

How actually creepy is nu-Ben though? I mean honestly, it's unnerving. Shame to see Peter go, hope he returns played by Thomas Law again. Kim was marvellous as always too.

Poor BRAVE Janine, I've been chaponing her and Ryan to be togther from the start but Stacey just seems to sap all thats good out of him when he's around her. I appreciate that Lacey has been brilliant over the last few years, but the way they've gone with this storyline makes me really think it's time for Stacey to go frankly.
