I wasn't joking! It really was fabulous. Just one of those episodes that felt like an 'event' and one where storylines progressed rather than going in circular motion with lots of humour to boot.

The only really good bit of it for me was when Tamwar stood up for his brother. The rest was just ok/ordinary - certainly not what I'd call fabulous. Mind you - I've seen people raving here on BJ about Candy Cabs calling it fabulous too - I watched that last night too and was quite massively disappointed. I do think BJ posters tend to over exaggerate sometimes.

I am curious to see how Margaret Tyzack's character is to progress. I find it interesting how her character name is so similar to the name of Sian Philips' evil character in I, Claudius.

The roof collapsing was ok i suppose. But as usual, soap magazines are advertising it to make us think Syed will die. In typical eastenders style, he lives and walks away with some part of his body in a cast or sling. It's just a rather mediocre attempt to have Syed somehow clash with his parents again. They are gonna need some find some resolution for this at some point.

Flawless episode. Zainab was so fucking good, she's one of the few actors who makes me feel upset when she is just because she's so convincing. I love Yusef's involvement with the story as well. What a master manipulator he is.

Very much loving Janine's gran tonight and of course Charlie Brooks turned the dial on the campometer up to max and went all out. Janine must never leave.

is it next week or the week after for the baby swap reveal?

According to a TV magazine, the reveal is

the 'duff duff' moment on this Friday's episode.

Loving Tanya's mother LONG TIME. Giving Zainab hell the verbal finger within her first ten seconds on screen!

I KNEW you'd be loving Tanya's mother! Loved her putting down Zainab. Ian and Jane are annoying me now though.

I need more Janine and her grandma on screen!

Wish I lived in walking distance of Dot's house, now that she's being used as a counselling B&B that is. Rather liked tonight's episode, Tanya's mother is just how I wanted her to be - utterly fabulous and brilliant.

Agreed with Casey on Jane & Ian, and frankly I have no interest in the Jay/Abbi and Heather storylines either.

I used to like Jane, never been one of my favourites, but I've liked her. Becoming waaay to dependent on Tanya though.

One thing I'm completely BAMBOOZLED by is WHERE does everyone live in Pat's house? Assuming Pat, Ricky and Carol all have a room each, Whitney seemingly has her own room. Tiffany must have her own room too, and even if the boys shared, that's still SIX bedrooms! SEVEN if Janine has a room there still...

Whitney and Tiff share a room. There's a bed on the other side of the room from Whitney's. But obviously it's still a complete TARDIS of a house.

I don't mind a few weeks of Jane being written like a cow since we know they have to give her an exit story of some point and maternity exits are always shit.

Tanyas mother definitly looks like a potentially great charactor going by tonights episode. Jane and Ian is like a merry go round and im tired of the im leaving you, i love you, im leaving you etc

Loved last night's episode, and I agree with Aled at how hilarious both Dot and Pat's sleeping arrangements are, surely half of the square has lived in either/both of them!?

I've just read in next week's Radio Times that the Baby Swap storyline comes to a conclusion on Tuesday!

EDIT: Oh oopsie, they printed it wrong. Or it might be right. One page says it's Tuesday and other says Monday - who to believe!?

I agree that Ian and Jane are becoming boring, it's so obvious they'll end up back together - same with Sally & Kevin in Corrie.
Another great episode tonight, and I can tell that this week's episodes will be some of the best this year, maybe just behind the week Whitney went missing though. Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to the conclusion, although I found tonight's cliffhanger a bit weak in comparison to the brilliant episode leading up to it.

That's because not every duff duff is a cliffhanger Theo! They're not the same thing. I don't know why people assume every episode needs to end on a 'what's going to happen next?!?' cliffhanger.

Anyhoo what a FABULOUS episode. So much going on, so much comedy, all misery put aside for a night (Max aside but then he's always got a face like a slapped arse and I wouldn't change him for the world), some lovely barbed comments between Vanessa and the Cross girls (TEAM VANESSA)... had to laugh at Ian drunkenly coming on to Greg only for Jane to do the same thing a minute later, and then that scene became so tragic so quickly when Jane broke down. She's annoyed me a little the past few eps but she was back on form tonight. Jane and Tan should be drunk together ALL THE TIME.
