11 (09) Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (02-02-03-03-01-03-03-05-06-09-11) [11 wks] Nice chart run

A chart run that also consists of a rare climbing to no. 1 after dropping down from #2. Otherwise that particular week 'Billionaire' would've had a third week at no. 1 but I was loving this song too much for it to peak at #2 so alas it climbed back and hit the no. 1 spot. There's still life in this song so don't expect to see it plummet now that it's out of the top 10.

18 (11) Brandon Flowers - Crossfire (04-06-07-11-18) [5 wks] This has fallen from my chart pretty quick, gets boring after awhile has has got better tracks on the album though

Yeah, I guess I'm at that stage you were at weeks ago with this song. Still like 'Crossfire' a lot but in comparison, 'Human' by The Killers was still no. 1 in my chart in its fifth week (spent 6 weeks in total at no. 1). 'Crossfire' definitely doesn't compare imo.

21 (--) Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way (21) [1 wk] Bit of a flop in the official chart

Hardly surprising considering 'Fire With Fire' failed to make the UK top 10. As per usual, the follow single performs worse than the lead single - usually the case moreso with established artists. Don't even see this song helping the album either.

30 (24) Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up (02-03-03-04-04-04-07-10-15-17-24-30) [12 wks] Nice chart run, its a pretty ditty track, never gets boring

This has become one of 2010's "X Factor" songs I've noticed with several contestants singing this in their audition. Agree that 'Pack Up' never gets boring hence why its managed to drop down much more slowly compared to other hits in my chart.

38 (--) A-Ha - Butterfly Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) (38) [1 wk] Their last track of their career, I was hoping the track would make some sort of an appearance in the official chart

I'd only heard this earlier today for the first whilst checking out the new releases. It's actually quite good - not brilliant but still a great track. Interesting video too showing clips from their 80s videos. What a weird time for established 80s acts coming to an end. A-Ha, even Simply Red (watched their show on ITV earlier, Mike Hucknall still sounds excellent singing those hits). He even went back to Denton where I live!!! :w00t:

39 (22) The Script - For The First Time (15-22-39) [3 wks] Fallen pretty quickly, their previous material is a lot better in my opinion, this track doesn't do anything for me now.

Yes, this song has got boring fast for me hence its massive plummet and will most likely be its final week on my chart. Have to admit, The Script haven't released a song that made me really take an interest. Their biggesy hit for me was 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' (no. 10) but even that didn't stick around that long.

11 (09) Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (02-02-03-03-01-03-03-05-06-09-11) [11 wks]Nice chart run

I never get bored with this track, I still find it amazing, hence its falling out of the top 10 in my personal chart as well, its going down pretty slow.

21 (--) Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way (21) [1 wk]Bit of a flop in the official chart

Hardly surprising considering 'Fire With Fire' failed to make the UK top 10. As per usual, the follow single performs worse than the lead single - usually the case moreso with established artists. Don't even see this song helping the album either.

I don't think they ever capitalize on their debut album or let alone surpass it, Ta-dah did pretty well as a follow up, it seems they have lost a lot of fans along the way somehow.

30 (24) Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up (02-03-03-04-04-04-07-10-15-17-24-30) [12 wks]Nice chart run, its a pretty ditty track, never gets boring

Eliza Doolittle has really taken me by surprise this year, she has done very well considering she started in slow gear where Ellie Goulding and Marina failed getting chart success without been listed on Sound of 2010. It seems Pack Up is getting her new recognition and new fans thanks to the X Factor now

38 (--) A-Ha - Butterfly Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) (38) [1 wk]Their last track of their career, I was hoping the track would make some sort of an appearance in the official chart

I saw Simply Red special as well, I remembered all the classic tracks he sang, "Fairground" is my favourite single and only #1 of theirs spanning a 25 year plus career. Its sad seeing 2 acts leaving the music industry who I loved since they debuted. Take On Me was a constant player for me at the time along with PSB 's West End Girls as both singles were out at the same time. The Video was exceptional for Take On Me at the time, it broke the barriers where videos didn't go before and its a constant favourite track of theirs along with the Bond theme "The Living Daylights".

Hi Hits, my comments!

01 (--) Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (01) [1 wk] Bruno's 3rd #1 for you is it? :o This is his best song yet imo, featured or otherwise

02 (--) Alex Gaudino - I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It) (02) [1 wk]

03 (01) Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow - Shame (01-03) [2 wks] This charted for you quite a bit ahead of its UK release. How come :o

04 (--) ATB - Could You Believe (04) [1 wk] I gave this another listen and it's still nothing special to my ears, won't be charting for me :(

05 (02) Robyn - Hang With Me (02-05) [2 wks]

06 (03) Taio Cruz - Dynamite (02-01-01-03-06) [5 wks]

07 (38) Emma's Imagination - This Day (22-38-07) [3 wks] Wow! We don't often see runs like this in your chart - definitely the *second* best song to come out of this show

08 (04) Pepper & Piano - You Took My Heart (03-03-04-08) [4 wks]

09 (05) Sia - Clap Your Hands (01-01-02-02-05-09) [6 wks]

14 (15) Ke$ha - Take It Off (15-14) [2 wks]

15 (--) Emma's Imagination - Focus (15) [1 wk] Took a while to click with me but I do like it a lot now

16 (--) Charice feat. Iyaz - Pyramid (16) [1 wk] Contender for the blandest song I've heard all year. To use your word of 'non-song', this defines it for me

17 (08) Manic Street Preachers - (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love (08-17) [2 wks]

Not seen you around here for ages. :o I do see your chart though in the Personal Charts pinned thread. We're in a small group still appreciating 80s bands.

I never get bored with this track, I still find it amazing, hence its falling out of the top 10 in my personal chart as well, its going down pretty slow.

I don't think they ever capitalize on their debut album or let alone surpass it, Ta-dah did pretty well as a follow up, it seems they have lost a lot of fans along the way somehow.

Eliza Doolittle has really taken me by surprise this year, she has done very well considering she started in slow gear where Ellie Goulding and Marina failed getting chart success without been listed on Sound of 2010. It seems Pack Up is getting her new recognition and new fans thanks to the X Factor now

Same here, I never really thought about how successful 'Love The Way You Lie' would become but from the first time I heard this on YouTube 3 months back, I instantly knew it was going to be one of Eminem's best singles. On the flip side, I also heard the track with Lil' Wayne sampling 'What Is Love?' by Haddaway and thought it was crap. So I'm sure 'LTWYL' is a one off gem and the next single will probably be crap.

Scissor Sisters debut album was from a different era altogether when it came to buying music. In 2004, more people actually bought albums compared to now. Album sales were much stronger as there was such thing as iTunes cherry picking. So now those "lost sales" are actually benefitting individual tracks in the singles chart - hence why tracks like 'Love The Way You Lie' have become such strong selling singles. Iirc, the track wasn't even confirmed as a second single. It just sold on its own mertis.

I never understood the appeal of Ellie Goulding - there just didn't seem to anything special about her at all. For me, 'The Writer' is a real gem but amongst a load of very average songs, imo. Marina I personally feel has been underrrated as 'Hollywood' was a great song that seemed like a potential top 10 hit in the making but fell short. As for Eliza, her debut single 'Skinny Genes' was only a small sized hit compared to the joy that is 'Pack Up'. 'Pack Up' is easily my fave singles released from all three artists with 'Hollywood' ranking second.

'Fairground' was indeed their only #1. I actually remember watching the ITV Chart Show and the video was literally hot off the press and given its world exclusive first play on The Chart Show and the video hadn't even been completed (in terms of editing) so only 90 seconds was played. The following week it stormed straight to no. 1 in the Top 10 which proved how successful the track was in its week of release. Even Shaggy 'Boombastic' didn't go to no. 1 on The Chart Show!!! As for A-Ha, they didn't release as many songs in their career that I really liked. They had some hits in my chart mostly peaking between 11-40. Iirc, A-Ha's biggest hit for me was 'Analogue' in 2006 but even that didn't make my top 10.

01 (--) Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (01) [1 wk] Bruno's 3rd #1 for you is it? :o This is his best song yet imo, featured or otherwise

Yes, Bruno Mars indeed scores his third no. 1 in my chart. I think he's proved to be an excellent singer/songwriter and the brains behind some of 2010's finest pop/RnB hits. The only other artist who scored three consecutive #1 hits in a row for me was Will Young; 'Switch It On', 'All Time Love', 'Who Am I'. On the other hand, Lady GaGa scored four no. 1s in my chart last year (would've been consecutive had it not been for the #10 SMASH 'LoveGame' :P ).

03 (01) Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow - Shame (01-03) [2 wks] This charted for you quite a bit ahead of its UK release. How come :o

Because I don't always use the release schedule to determine when I'm going to chart a song - especially if it's a song that I really like and its been no. 1 in my Pre-Release chart for a couple of weeks. I knew there were three songs I liked pretty much in equal measure and wanted that to be reflected in my chart. That's Robbie/Gary, now Bruno Mars and next Cee Lo Green. Otherwise had they all entered the same week it'd be more difficult to determine which song I would put #1. So that's why 'Shame' entered early to path the way for Bruno and Cee Lo. ;)

04 (--) ATB - Could You Believe (04) [1 wk] I gave this another listen and it's still nothing special to my ears, won't be charting for me :(

Aww, I like this. Yes, it's nothing on the mighty '9PM (Til I Come)' but I like this for its cheesey charm and big chorus. Was quite surprised to see this doing so well in Lithuania and Poland - combined, the points collected for this track were enough to enter the HET30.

07 (38) Emma's Imagination - This Day (22-38-07) [3 wks] Wow! We don't often see runs like this in your chart - definitely the *second* best song to come out of this show

 Obviously the chart entered after Emma's semi final so the song was fresh in my head but last week I hardly listened to it hence its drop. Then after the final last weekend, I found myself playing this song more than I was when it first entered at #22 so to reflect my airplay it's ultimately rocketed right up again and secured a new peak. Poor Pepper & Piano, had they made the final I suspect 'You Took My Heart' may have ranked higher in my chart but I stll really like the song hence them not plummted down despite not making the final 3. I'll never understand the appeal of The Pictures though.

15 (--) Emma's Imagination - Focus (15) [1 wk] Took a while to click with me but I do like it a lot now

Which version are you charting? There's the acoustic 2 minute version but then there's also the 3 minute version which is on Emma's MySpace page although someone uploaded this to YouTube which is how I heard the track. Personally, I prefer the 3 minute version.

16 (--) Charice feat. Iyaz - Pyramid (16) [1 wk] Contender for the blandest song I've heard all year. To use your word of 'non-song', this defines it for me

Really? Sure it's not the best song I've heard this year but I've definitely heard a lot worse - I could easily name about 20 tracks even if some of those are more "crap" rather than just "bland". I actually like the chorus a lot in this song which is what sold the song to me. I know 'Impossible' by Shantelle seems more popular but I genuinely think this is a slightly better track hence it peaking a bit higher.

Hey

04 (--) ATB - Could You Believe (04) [1 wk] new single? :o

Yes it is. It's already gone top 10 in Lithuania and Poland which is how I discovered this track as it also charted in the HET30. It's nowhere near the brilliance that was '9PM (Til I Come)' but I still like this a lot. Check out the video below:

16 (--) Charice feat. Iyaz - Pyramid (16) [1 wk] - just listening this on chart show now for the first time, it's alright. :)

Good to see someone else appreciating this song. It's not the best song I've heard all year but it's certainly not one of the worst.

36 (21) Daruso - Since You Been Gone (14-14-21-36) [4 wks] Oof, nasty fall :(

38 (--) A-Ha - Butterfly Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) (38) [1 wk]

40 (--) KT Tunstall - (Still A) Weirdo (40) [1 wk] The album is really very good :o This single is one of the weaker tracks imo

Greta chart :D

Cheers Martin :D

04 (--) ATB - Could You Believe (04) [1 wk] Not heard this one, is it up there with 9pm (till I Come)

Not on the same level as '9PM (Til I Come)' but I think it's a great uplifting pop/trance track. I've posted the video above. ;)

36 (21) Daruso - Since You Been Gone (14-14-21-36) [4 wks] Oof, nasty fall :(

I know. :( I've heardly listened to this song out of choice all week and didn't even see the track on Clubland TV to keep the track at the forefront of my attention.

40 (--) KT Tunstall - (Still A) Weirdo (40) [1 wk] The album is really very good :o This single is one of the weaker tracks imo

I'm still very much in two minds over this song and it isn't the type of song I'd listen to and think "wow, I wonder if the album will be of this quality". I always thought the lead single would be one of the best tracks to really sell an album - if there really is better on the album, I question why one of those tracks weren't chosen as lead single. Then again, the record company probably thought 'Weirdo' was the most "lead single" worthy track. How wrong were they?

It is quite bizarre. There are better tracks on the album, but none of those would have made a good lead single as they are similar to her previous material. Weirdo probably was the best choice, or maybe Glamour Puss which iirc was originally going to be the first single? Either way, the album is really good!

It was her previous material that made her popular in the first place. If the lead single was in a similar vein to 'Other Side Of The World' or 'Black Horse And The Cherry Tree' I'm sure the track would appeal to more people than 'Weirdo' has. Maybe the second single will be one of these stronger tracks and might help sell the album. If the record company choose another lukewarm song to release as the second single, this era is pretty much over in this fickle industry we call music.
