I always thought she probably had the same size fanbase as someone like Pink, clearly not. I can't imagine Lifestyle doing much next year, I doubt she'll even release it. #31 Debut for the albu in Ireland this week.

More to the point, I don't think anybody actually KNOWS Nelly Furtado's attempting to make a comeback. Dire single and the laziest promo campaign in the history of mankind are to blame, but there we go.

Is she attempting to make a comeback? I see no attempting to do anything.

She's farted out a GH, my guess because the record company ordered her to, knowing that left to her own devices Nelly would spend another 5 years dossing around or trying to still flog the Mi Plan horse. It seems quite clear she's no longer concerned about commercial success. Which is wonderful for her, but leaves her fans with very little to work with.

My guess is after this flops in at #71 or something and the single fails to make the chart next week, she will indeed go back to being a lazy bitch for another couple of years. I will actually be shocked if she fulfils her promise to have a proper studio album ready for next year.

Now I think we all saw disaster coming with this one, but even then I thought this would have no problem making top 40. For an act who 3 years had the entire world at her feet, it's actually kind of unbelievable it's come to this. Could you imagine Rihanna failing to make the top 40 with her GH in three years time?

We all joked that Nelly was going to be the new Anastacia. But even Anastacia's last album release made the top 20, and her GH the top 10, so suddenly the joke doesn't seem so funny. Tirren summed it up perfectly in one of the Lounge threads; so I'm just going to quote him rather than pretend to dress it up as original thought.

Nelly entered the album charts today at #53. How utterly awful. If she wants to sustain her career, she's going to really have to go away and do some hard thinking. Half-arsed cow.

So at least we know she has 3 times more fans in the UK than in the US.

 

Obviously she has NOTHING to do with the GH and she's probably not chasing success because she knows the Timbaland thing was a one off thing already (she started flopping after her debut but bounced back with Loose). I can see her doing the independent route and performing for the fans for at least a few more years, similar to Jewel's career.

My estimates were a little of, the greatest hits sold near enough 9,000 last week.

Down to #100 in it's second week. FLUSH!

id say about 5,000 sales for last week as #86 sold around 6,000, so total sales for the greatest hits so far is about 15,000.

I'm so upset you guys.

I got this for Christmas! It's actually a brilliant collection and well worth however much was spent on it. :wub: 'Girlfriend In This City' has grown so much and I love it now. :D 'Stars' remains "alright".

its doing a bit better in ireland than the uk, it has stayed top 100 here since its release and this week climbs 5 places to #83.
