I liked her on the X Factor but her song isn't great, Shayne is the same, but he has loads of screaming girls after him and Maria hasn't so I don't think she'll be more of a sucess than the dire Shayne :(

The song's OK but the melody in the background is from an old song. Can't for the life of me remember what - sure it's Diana Ross or the Supremes.

 

I think it's a sample of 'Have you seen her' by the Chi-lites? There seems to be a general coming back of Motown/Soul in some music that's about now to me. Sampling something vaguely familiar often helps a track do well on a subconscious level - I like Motown/Soul music, but not really the Chi-lites or this song particularly though -_-

 

No, her first single is really, REALLY dull, and for a reality TV artist first singles mean a hell of a lot in terms of where their careers are going. -_-

However Maria's single sounds hot and I'm hoping heralbum will be something a bit special!

It's very doubtful as her sales will be fairly small in comparison, she wont sell enough albums either and what about tours etc, I think she'll do ok initially but not long term.

i want her to be bigger than shayne ward but i honestly cant see it happening. i do like her new single, but tvplay isnt fantastic and shes on little airplay. also, i was expecting something a little more upbeat with attitude. ''sleepwalking'' would have been a better 2nd or 3rd track imo.

thought it was familiar, the trouble is very often the samples are the only good thing about these records to be honest - there are loads where I find I am qutie liking it, then realise its because I like the sample bit, it is a very lazy way to make a record, I especially hate samples that are just updated with some awful rap

i would love Maria to have a career like Lemar but her fans have deserted her since x factor and i reckon she will release another single it will be a minor hit and then re-release the album and it will flop again and sadly thats all we will hear from her :(
