ROBBIE WILLIAMS says his bitterness over TAKE THAT has healed so much he wants to give former manager NIGEL MARTIN-SMITH a hug.

Robbie, who releases his duet Shame with GARY BARLOW on Monday, has regularly lashed out at Nigel since quitting the band 15 years ago.

But after patching up differences with the group - also HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE and MARK OWEN - he's ready to sort things out with Nigel.

He said: "That's why it works now with me and Gaz. Two grown-ups meet each other, take complete responsibility for their actions, apologise - that's magic.

"The whole thing completely and utterly gone. It's incredibly freeing for your psyche.

"I don't want to hold any malice towards somebody from my past because that only hurts myself.

"All I want to do now is throw my arms around him and give him a hug. I want to hear sorry from him, I want to say I'm sorry.

"I wouldn't be doing anything if it weren't for Take That. I hated it so much, and now I can put a bow on it and love it.

"It's amazing turning something that harmed you into something positive. I get such a buzz about it - redemption and forgiveness."

It seems like Robbie is living his own personal episode of My Name Is Earl.

Robbie Williams Wants Gay Kids

From

http://www.inquisitr.com/86706/robbie-will...wants-gay-kids/

Robbie Williams wants a gay child.

The ‘Shame’ singer, who married actress Ayda Field in August, is determined to start a family as soon as possible and says he would be happy with either a son or a daughter.

Speaking to 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, he joked, “I want a gay one, we’ve talked about it and that’s what we want, whatever it is.

“I genuinely don’t care. I always thought I want a boy ever since I was little but now I’m like, ‘Oh yeah girls, they’re daddy’s girls aren’t they?’

“If it’s a guy I’m going teach it to play footy and all of that stuff and if it’s a girl I’m going to protect her to my death.”

The 36-year-old star admitted he and Ayda want to have children as soon as possible and are even considering undergoing in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment to boost their chances.

He added, “I want to get it over and down with and get IVF, what is it where you get the injections?”

The ‘Angels’ hitmaker also revealed he and his wife were thrilled to receive a wedding gift from Yoko Ono.

Robbie’s dad used to refer to the couple as John Lennon and Yoko Ono because of the amount of time they spent in bed together, and when the wife of the late Beatles rocker heard about it, she decided to send the pair a signed picture.

Robbie explained, “I remember one of the wedding presents in particular. Because my wife and I spend so much time in bed, my dad calls us John and Yoko … and Yoko heard about this and she sent a signed picture to us, ‘Congratulations love Yoko.’ ”

Robbie Williams vows to go nude

Robbie Williams has promised to go on stage naked before he turns 40.

The 36-year-old singer, who recently reunited with his former band Take That, has vowed to re-create a stunt he put on in 1997. The star appeared nude before an audience in Manchester as a joke, but found the experience was actually quite enjoyable.

"I think it was my ode to the Chili Peppers - to the great picture of them with their socks on their c**ks. And I thought, 'Just get naked - let's see what happens.' It was an encore, Old Before I Die, I think," he explained to the British edition of Glamour magazine. "I wasn't playing the bass, it was just there to cover my modesty. It was a very, very brave thing to do considering that my manhood isn't that large.

"It felt liberating. If I get myself in decent shape before I'm 40, I might appear on stage naked again."

Robbie explained critics thought he was just trying to get publicity the first time around, but he feels it was the "innate naturalist" in him trying to break free. He has always loved flashing his flesh in public, and even used to strip off when he was a child.

"Doing a moonie is kind of laddish and laughy and jokey but I suppose, deep down, I just want to be naked. Maybe it's the innate naturist in me trying to get out. When I was young, I always used to take my pants down and let the wind hit my bum, and my mum would say, 'It's because he likes the wind hitting his bum,'" he laughed. "But I just like baring my bottom and I don't know why, I always have."

Robbie Williams has admitted he was once so scared he slept with a pistol under his pillow.

The 36-year-old star said it was during his time with band Take That that he was frightened for his life after becoming one of the UK's biggest pop stars.

He told Britain's The Sunday Times Style magazine: "There's 500 girls outside your house in Tunstall, and the police have to close the road.

Coaches pull up from Germany and 50 girls get out, rip your garden up, jump over the fence and nick your washing.

"To my mother it was hell. We were constantly under threat of being burgled. I slept with a starting pistol and a hammer under my pillow. My mum closed the curtains in 1991 and didn't open them again until 1995.

"She was miserable, which made me miserable. In my head, what was going to happen was we'd play the NEC, then I'd come home and go to the pub and get p***ed with my friends."

Dammit! Now I get it! So this is where the term 'Cheeky Chappie' comes from!

I have heard him say that dozens of times over the years. It is no bombshell as the Metro suggests. He has indicated in several interviews recently that his solo career is over for the moment and isnt saying anything different here. I have no doubt Rob will release many more solo albums during his career - after the TT album/tour I think he will take another lengthly break to start a family, but he is too creative to just stop making his own records, especially the type of music he loves. I feel with RKTVS has was forced to make a certain type of album and it seemed to annoy him as he said before, however now he is out of the contract I reckon when he wants to make another album he will make the type of album HE wants to make and won't allow himself to be under pressure by record companies etc to make the type of album they want. As he said RKTVS was half and half but I think it is likely he will release something similar to Rudebox again at some point unless of course being back with TT gives him his competitive streak back in which case he will likely get back with Guy Chambers as he said in December at some point in the next 5 years. Btw I heard that in the new book there is a part that mentions new solo songs he has put aside for after TT - for those who have the book is there much details given as to what type of tracks they are?

Just listened to the Kyle and Jackie O interview in full. Very amusing in parts. Interesting when asked if TT will promote in Australia he said he hoped so and then went on to explain that the situation with TT is different in the UK and how popular they are there. He did say he will be back in Oz at some point himself doing something. He also said in that interview "I don't want to do anything solo for a while - I'm dried up". It is sad however they he feels he is tired with the solo career considering he has already taken a 3year break from it. I think yet again it points back to the Rudebox backlash. Around that time he was talking about releasing 3 albums a year and was very excited about it, then Rudebox backlash and he takes 3 years off and lost a huge amount of confidence both on stage (although that is coming back recently) and creatively - so I hope getting back with TT and playing to big crowds on tour again will give him that confidence back and then he will feel able to release whatever type of album he wants whenever he wants.

Video interview with MSN. Part two also available on here plus a Quiz http://music.uk.msn.com/xclusives/robbie-w...s?ocid=topstory

Really good interview here - some different answers too - said his career highlights are Promises getting to 38, Swing gig, Knebworth and playing gigs in South America and how great it is to be able to sell out stadiums so far away. Mentions the gigs at the River Plate in Argentina in particular. Also talks about how he came up with the idea of the Shame video. His biggest regret being when he said he was rich beyond his wildest dreams because he dreams higher these days.

Robbie Williams: Steve McQueen inspires me

Robbie Williams thought he was Steve McQueen while filming the promo for his celebrated song Angels.

The 36-year-old British singer has fond memories of the shoot, which took place in the south of England in 1997. The song also holds a special place in his heart, as it established him as a solo artist following his departure from Take That.

In the video, Williams is seen riding a motorbike across a field, a stunt firmly associated with the late celebrated actor McQueen.

“I made it in Devon – it was beautiful down there. I remember being in this circle and being confused by it, thinking, ‘What does this mean? Why is this?’ And I remember that Vaughan Arnell, the director, was very, very, encouraging, ‘You’re going to look cool as f**k, you’re going to look like…’ And I was like, ‘I’m going to look like Steve McQueen!’ And that’s exactly what I was thinking when I was walking along the beach, ‘F**k me! I look like Steven McQueen,’” he explained to the British edition of Glamour magazine.

Williams, who has agreed to join his former band members for an album and tour next year, went on to describe his memories of that day.

“When there’s two helicopters swirling above your head just to take pictures of you, and you’re in a lovely coat, and you’re thin and alone and lithe and young… you think you are Steve McQueen for a moment,” he added.

Robbie Williams getting a buzz out of art

By Sophie Eager Oct 11, 2010, 21:11 GMT

Singer Robbie Williams has revealed that he has been spending time honing his art skills after building an art studio in his garage.

Williams, 36, who is about to release his first single with Take That after 15 years, said he has developed a passion for art.

According to UK newspaper the Daily Star Sunday, he said: 'I've turned my garage into an art studio and have done six paintings in the last two weeks. A gallery has even offered to buy some.”

He added: 'It gives me the same buzz as music, especially when you've spent all day on it. I'm strictly into abstract at the minute because I'm not talented.

“But you know how you walk past a painting and go, 'I could f****** do that?' Well, I'm actually f****** doing it.'

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...es-at-Eton.html

ROBBIE WILLIAMS spent 15 years out in the cold.

Now he's back with his old TAKE THAT bandmates, here he is freezing his hits off again - this time in the Thames.

GARY, JASON, MARK, HOWARD and Rob took lessons from Eton Rowing Club to shoot boating scenes in the video for new single The Flood. By all accounts they did pretty well, too.

But they needed a stack of suntan lotion on a boiling-hot day. Careful with the thinning thatches, eh, lads?

And all the Eton girls screaming on the riverbank in Berkshire probably didn't help lothario Jason's sweaty brow.

Meanwhile, Robbie is planning two solo albums once he ties up commitments with Take That toward the end of next year.

He will release two collections in quick succession - one of swing songs, the other show tunes.

Show tunes, swing and that Brokeback Mountain vid with Gaz? Is he really married?

The new TT video premieres on ITV1 this Friday at 8.30am, during the Daybreak show.

Ew!!! Unless they're sung by men in their mid 40's - preferably from the 50's ... with a real bourbon whiskey in one hand and a cigarette in the other ... I can't take Swing music seriously!

I may give the show tunes a little listen though. If its true that is.

I highly doubt this is true. Rob is now out of a contract and said he has no plans to be a solo artist for the foreseeable future so the chances of two albums by next Xmas is unlikely (although this is the second time The Sun has mentioned a solo record by next Xmas). Knowing Rob he will take another very long break after the TT tour. Although with him you never know what he will do next but somehow I cannot see another Swing album at this stage. He was complaining about having to write songs on RKTVS that were commercial etc so the chances of releasing a covers album again is unlikely at this stage anyway. Saying that I do think he will release a follow up to Swing When You're Winning at some point as he was brilliant at it and basically rejuvinated the Swing genre outside of America. And it is actually the best selling Swing album outside the US ever released with over 7.5M copies sold so from a commercial point of view it is a great idea but he would be covering old ground and basically singing left overs from the last one. I have always loved the idea of writing original songs for a Swing album with Guy though. 'I Will Talk and Hollywood Will Listen' is fantastic.

I don't think he rejuvenated the genre of swing (outside of the US) at all. Sure his album sold brilliantly ... but with Rob's name on it ... at that time ... he could have sold anything.

I'm a bit iffy with Swing ... even from the originals ... I only really like some of Dean Martin's (but then again ... Martin wasn't just swing ... he could turn his hand to almost anything ... one of my fave songs of Dean's is a C&W one) and Sammy Davis Jr ... I'm not totally sold on Frank Sinatra and apart from ILMHISF ... I'm not fond of Tony Bennett.

In terms of success his album was the first huge selling Swing album in decades. And after he did it, it was even acknowledged by the media that he made Swing cool again (in the UK anyway) and there were loads of artists that followed by trying to recreate his success. In most cases they failed hugely - Westlife's effort being the most laughable that comes to mind. He got a alot of younger people into Swing who would have know very little about it at the time and although you are correct that he was selling by the bucket load at that point anyway - in many ways it was a huge risk to release a Swing album. He had done three hugely successful Pop/Rock albums, and then ran the risk of totally alienating his fanbase (EMI didnt even want it included as one of the albums in the contract - but rather as an add-on) by releasing such a different type of music, but it become his best selling up to that point. It was a huge risk, possibly at the time even more so than Rudebox in 06 as a lot of his fans were younger overall at the time.

I personally like Swing music, although had little time for it before Rob did it nearly a decade ago but since then I have bough several Rat Pack albums and listen to them from time to time. It is not my fave genre of music by any means but I enjoy listening to it the odd time. I like the vocal style more than anything elese as it really showcases vocal ability and range more so than pop does.

Robbie hopes to retire early

The Sun

WHILE most of us slog away until we need a zimmer frame, ROBBIE WILLIAMS was hoping to retire in his 30s.

The gobby singer said he was would have quit music if it hadn't been for rejoining TAKE THAT.

He said: "If it wasn't for the boys, I would probably be doing nothing because I quite enjoy doing nothing now.

"It does feel like the end of one of the last chapters in the book and I do feel a bit spent to be honest with you.

"I'm loving what's to come and I'm very excited being back with the boys, our album sounds amazing, I'm excited to do the tour and all that business... but I'm kind of still at a loose end figuring out what I want to do when I grow up."

Alright for some.

Rob, who let's face it, has had more ups and downs than a rollercoaster, quit the group back in 1995 and continued to fly solo when MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE, HOWARD DONALD and GARY BARLOW reformed in 2005.

The Angels singer even confessed he "couldn't be a**ed" recording his last solo effort Reality Killed The Video Star.

He said: "It kind of was going through the motions, because I was all hyped up about doing Rudebox and going down that road and then everybody went, 'No!'

"And because everyone had gone, 'No', I went, 'Well, OK, I can't be a**ed either.'"

He added: "Knowing that my audience didn't like Rudebox left me thinking, 'Well, er, I don't know what to do now.'"

Therapy, anyone !!

Oh dear! Well it is The Sun after all! But if he couldn't be arsed with his solo work ... I'd be a bit concerned that he isn't going to put in the effort with Take That. Maybe he's just doing it for a lark. I find it odd though (and yes ... I'm typing this knowing ... its The Sun) just before it was released ... he was saying RKTVS was a 'killer' album ... and now in hindsight he's saying he really couldn't be arsed at the time. Well he's saying this TT album is great? Are we to believe that?

He really is, as Steve Martin would say, 'one crazy, mixed up guy!'
