October 15, 201014 yr Thanks, she must be the unluckiest artist to peak at #2. With "Only Girl" to add at some point Err, not really. As I said, she's also had 3 #1s, one of them being one of the biggest hits of the 2000s, and she's massive worldwide. For someone who's truly unlucky with #2 peaks, look at Sash!. 5 #2s and no #1s. October 15, 201014 yr I think just shows how a crap song performed on X Factor doesn't guarantee a number 1. Rihanna and Cheryl are both performing on X Factor on Week 3. Also Rihanna is on physicals too this time around. What I think is that it depends on the performance they both give on X Factor.
October 15, 201014 yr I heard Rihanna's been pushed back? I'd love it if she beat Cheryl though .
October 15, 201014 yr I wonder where the X Factor performance downloads would fit in, if they were allowed to chart...
October 15, 201014 yr Author I wonder where the X Factor performance downloads would fit in, if they were allowed to chart... I reckon we've got something to be thankful for! Without the 14 million nutjobs that actually watch the nonsense every Weekend. It actually comes across that if you are male & win it, you'll disappear a lot faster than if you're female i.e. McElderry/Ward etc.

Shayne is bringing out his THIRD album five years after winning. He hasn't benefited form the investment, constant promotion and publicity that Alex and Leona have had OR the frequent 'returns' to the X Factor to prop up album sales. But he's sold 1 million album in the UK alone. Just imagine what he could have sold with more backing.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder, is it coincidence that male X Factor winners don't get a great deal of support, or is there something more to it? I mean, Joe was a good singer, there's no doubt about that, it just seems he's been considered a bit of a gimmick now, and the campaign last Christmas seemed to be treated as an anti-Joe campaign by some, and an anti-X Factor campaign by others. The people who started the campaign said it's because they wanted to have a good chart battle for a change, but I wonder if that was the real reason, of if they were just trying to appear nice.
October 15, 201014 yr I doubt very much if the JLS Single will beat the Take That Single to No.1. The Take That Track is far stronger. The JLS one - heard such ballads a million times before. We will see, anyhow.
October 15, 201014 yr Don't see how Rihanna could be called unlucky. Most artists would kill to have 10 hits peak within the top 2...
