April 5, 201114 yr my uni (KCL) hasn't announced but I'd be SERIOUSLY surprised if they charge less than 9k. they recently bought part of somerset house to house the law department for a RIDICULOUS price (can't remember exactly) and are now in the process of cutting the important things (lecturer's pensions, staff etc.). that more than anything has pissed me off recently. Kings College...? Given their reputation they can pretty much get away with 9k... But, BAD, BAD, BAD, for cutting lecturers, staff and pensions..... c/unts.... <_<
April 5, 201114 yr But its a lot cheaper to live in Leeds than it is London - so one could offset the other. I have to be honest though - I've lived in both and if I had my time over - I'd still choose (as a student) to live in Leeds. However if I was going to pay the same for the former poly and the proper university - I'd be applying for the proper one. Kath Headingly is also one of the largest/biggest student districts in the UK I believe. The amount students are willing to pay just to live there is ridiculous. That#s the problem with London campuses, especially if you come from up North, it's especially expensive to live there and the student districs are spread all over. Whereas Leeds is much cheaper, and everything is all in one big place (and its not as daunting city as Ldn...)

You see - I made my student money go further when I was at Leeds Poly - by living in the Chapeltown/Harehills area rather than the ridiculously over-priced (and at the time - crappier houses) of Headingly.
