That's A TAKE

THERE have been singles, albums, DVDs, tours, dolls, T-shirts - and now TAKE THAT the movie is heading your way.

Cameras have been following GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, HOWARD DONALD and JASON ORANGE since they finally broke bread with ROBBIE WILLIAMS and reunited as a five-piece.

The warts-and-all account of the man band over the last 18 months is heading for a nationwide cinema release at Christmas - which will be a box-office smash with their fans.

It should be gripping stuff, with uncensored behind-the-scenes footage of the group as they buried the hatchet after all the bad blood over the years.

A source said: "Cameras have been with them right through the last chapter of their lives.

"The lads really wanted this to be an honest account of what happened when they were making friends all over again.

"It wasn't easy and they've had to bare their souls more often than they planned.

"Mark had a lot of problems in his private life when he admitted to his drink problem and marriage difficulties.

"But it just showed how tight they are as a unit."

Sounds like it's going to be something special.

I had the first listen of new TAKE THAT single The Flood yesterday, and it makes a big statement and marks their return with the original line-up.

Robbie takes lead vocals with Gary on the epic, electronic pop hit. MADONNA's producer STUART PRICE has his fingerprints all over it too - which is no bad thing.

The song was the first the band recorded at Electric Lady Studios when they met for Mark's stag do in New York last year.

The lyrics have some interesting messages, with the band "shouting love at the world" and referring to themselves as "cavemen" re-emerging.

There is even a line about "never dancing again", which Gary must be delighted about. Howard plays drums on the track, with Gary on keyboards.

The Take That bandwagon is now in full swing.

Robbie and Gary played a Live Lounge session on Radio 1 yesterday with FEARNE COTTON to promote their new duet Shame.

She asked a question about the weirdest present they had ever received, to which Robbie replied "herpes". Nice.

I've definitely got the Take That bug again.

It's good to have them back in action...

Take That 'to release movie documentary'

Take That are to release a film documentary following the band during their recent reunion, it has been revealed.

The tell-all movie will be released in cinemas nationwide at Christmas, according to The Sun.

A source said: "Cameras have been with them right through the last chapter of their lives. The lads really wanted this to be an honest account of what happened when they were making friends all over again."

The film is said to contain uncensored footage of the boyband as they welcomed back estranged former member Robbie Williams to record new album Progress .

The source continued: "It wasn't easy and they've had to bare their souls more often than they planned. Mark [Owen] had a lot of problems in his private life when he admitted to his drink problem and marriage difficulties. But it just showed how tight they are as a unit."

Williams recently admitted that he was ready to bury the hatchet with the band's former manager Nigel Martin-Smith.

Just when we though take that and robbie had reached their peaks it really looks like its about to happen. I really never expected beautiful world or the circus to be so huge and huge they were but looks like progress and this era could potenially do just aswell if not better.

The whole take that return and now the re union with robbie has shown the industry their really isnt a boyband who comes close to them.

JLS: 'We won't beat Take That'

Tuesday, October 12 2010, 12:03 BST

By Robert Copsey, Music Reporter

JLS have admitted that their chances of beating Take That for a number one album are "slim".

The group, who release their sophomore LP Outta This World the same week as Take That's Progress next month, said that they are likely to lose the chart battle because they are still building their fanbase.

"Our chances of beating the mighty Take That are slim," JB told MTV.

"They've been working for 20 years as a group and individually. Robbie Williams's fanbase in itself is staggering, and obviously Take That are selling out stadiums on tour, and doing 20-odd stadium dates around the country, and that's incredible.

"We're about to do our first arena tour so you can see the stark contrast between the two, but for us, it's not about the competition it's about the contribution."

He continued: "But obviously we're always hopeful for a number one, and as my mum always says to me and the boys, 'If you want to be the best you have to beat the best'."

Marvin Humes added that it felt "crazy" going up against Take That, admitting: "I used to go to my nan's house and my auntie used to come home and she was crazy about Take That, especially Mark Owen."

TT will easily win in the albums. In fact I think they will sell twice as much as JLS. Singles is different. Have not heard JLS's new single but if it is the CIN song it may beat The Flood.

Isnt the Outstanding Contribution To Music' Award at next years BRITS due to be announced soon? I bet TT get it. How odd if that happens - Rob up there two years in a row

I hope not! I think it'd be so obvious it was just a token-gesture if Take That got it. They've always been snubbed (too downmarket) by the Brits Panel in the past ... for me .... if Take That were awarded anything by that panel ... it would just be a way of them giving another award to Robbie (whom they love). I'd rather they won the public voted album and single Brits ... they've lived this long without a 'proper' award ... they can end their careers without one (well four of them can).

Edit ... just realised ... the album isn't public voted is it? So ... possibility of another Brit Award for Rob to add to his collection.

Well I doubt they would turn it down if offered. There are very few huge British music acts left who have not received it yet so I am betting TT get it. It would coincide with the 20th Anniversary of the first single too.

Why would Rob get the Best Album? Do you mean they would give TT Best album due to Rob or that Rob's GH would get it (GH are never nominated are they? ). I personally reckon 'Shame' will win Best Single and why not?

It's incredible how Take That might reach their career peak this year with Progress... They are bigger than ever in the UK and now with Robbie being back.

I hope Progress continues their streak of consecutive 2 million sellers in the UK!

Take That will unveil the full length video for their first single as a five piece in more than 15 years this Friday (October 15th) on ITV's Daybreak around 8.30am.

Following possibly the most exciting reunion in British pop history, Take That finally unveil the title of their long awaited new single. ‘The Flood’ will be the first song from the band’s forthcoming album and will be released through Polydor Records on November 14th digitally and November 15th physically.

There has been speculation and excitement aplenty since the band reformed as a five piece, fuelled recently by pictures of Gary, Howard, Jason, Mark and Robbie published rowing on the river Thames. This can now be confirmed as the making of the video for ‘The Flood’ which was filmed on location at Dorney Lake in Eton and on the Thames outside Westminster. The video, which was shot by Mat Whitecross who directed the Ian Drury biopic ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock n Roll’ and Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’.

The reunion of reunions took place in New York last September, following Take That’s record-breaking ‘The Circus Live’ tour. Shortly afterwards all five of the original Take That secretly wrote and recorded the six songs which would set the foundation for the forthcoming Stuart Price produced album, details of which will follow shortly.

Take That and Robbie Williams have between them sold over 80 Million albums, played to over 14.5 million people live, won 19 BRIT Awards, had 13 number one albums, 17 number one singles, eight MTV awards and five Ivor Novello awards; and the list goes on… The success they have achieved independently and as a group is extraordinary.

The video to Take That's new signal 'The Flood' will be premièred on terrestrial television on October 15th to coincide with the first radio play of the song.

No ... I mean the Take That album - I doubt they'd consider Take That unless Rob was on board ... as I've said ... Take That alone are too downmarket for them. And yes - you're right Greatest Hits albums aren't eligible.

It'd be a travesty if Shame got best single! I've only ever voted in the Brits twice ... once for Patience and once for Shine (won my ticket to the 2008 Brit Awards with that vote!!!) I'll have to give The Flood a few more listens before I decide if it is worth the cost of a phone call ... should it get nominated.

By the sounds of The Flood though ... although OK ... it doesn't bode well for the album being all that great. And before anyone says it ... I'd think it was a so-so song even if Gary Barlow was singing it. It's just a little bit 'meh' now after a few listens. But ... it'll probably sell as well as The Circus (maybe a little better if one or two Rob fans buy it).

I cannot get into it no matter how hard I try....hopefully there is something better on the remainder of the album.

After downloading I&OOC I am not too bothered tbh as this is my dream album, I just love it....

I just don't get all the fuss ... I really don't. I'm not saying I don't like the song ... there is a 'feel' around it that I like ... that 'Moody Blues' sort of feel ... but ... I can't put my finger on it ... its just missing something.

JLS TARGET ROBBIE AND CO

The Star

PLANET pop’s hottest boyband JLS say their second album will be more risqué than their debut and see them dip in to dubstep.

At next Wednesday’s MOBOs, my favourite foursome will give a hint of what to expect when they release Outta This World on November 22 and face Take That in the charts.

The lads will be on the bill at Liverpool’s Echo Arena alongside Professor Green, 26, Tinie Tempah, 21, and Roll Deep.

CLAIM AN ONLINE POKER BONUS OF UP TO $250!

Oritse Williams told me: “Our mantra is to have as much fun as we can, so we’ll be doing that at the MOBOs. The topics we’ve talked about on the new album are more intense and the styles more risqué.

“There’s some dubstep on there too.

“We worked with Jay Sean on a track which is very hot and sexy – it has to be, doesn’t it?

“It was all about pushing outside of the box, which we did with the help of Labrinth. I love that guy.

“We’ve taken a few risks and integrated different styles we’ve never played with before.

“Some of the songs are hopefully going to be listened to on the streets as well as the overground.”

After collecting their first MOBOs last year, I expect JLS to come away with heavy arms again.

And the acclaim means a great deal to the group, whose next single Love You More, out on November 15, is the official Children In Need release.

Oritse, 23, added: “We’re very serious about our music but we’re aware there are preconceptions.

“People think we’re manufactured, when it was me who put us together.

“We’ve written every song on the new album bar The Club Is Alive.

“Everything about this job is fun – the performing, book signings, meeting the fans.

“We’re having the best time ever and are the best of friends – a proper team.

“It’s like I truly have the best three brothers in the world.”

ROBBIE WILLIAMS: HOW TAKE THAT WILL KICK JLS' CUTT

The Star

ABOVE: Robbie Williams will get naked

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has a surefire way to ensure Take That’s reunion album Progress beats JLS to No 1 next month – getting naked.

The manband’s infamous debut single Do What U Like saw them flash their bums and get smeared with jelly in 1991.

And now, as he heads to No 1 with his In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010 package, the buff singer is feeling confident about kicking some butt.

“If all else fails, nakedness in Trafalgar Square,” he grins when we meet up before an exclusive gig for Magic 105.4 at London’s swish Supperclub in Notting Hill.

“We might have to get our arses out again. It’s going to be an interesting week. JLS are great. When my last album came out and I was No 2 and they were No 1, I gave them a bell and congratulated them. So if the reverse happens, they have my number now...”

http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af167/therobbiewilliamssiteukau/Picture2-93.png

ABOVE: Robbie Williams with Daily Star reporter Kim Dawson

Looking fitter than ever, Robbie’s pulling out the big guns.

He’s happy, handsome and revelling in his hits.

This intimate Magic Presents Robbie Williams gig with Barclaycard Unwind was probably his last solo performance in a while as he focuses on the group, whose new single The Flood got its video premiere this morning at 7.50am on ITV1’s Daybreak. Lucky competition winners got to hear Robbie sing a section from the brilliant song at the gig, where he confirmed Take That are planning a 2011 tour he’s “not supposed to mention”.

“It’s another chapter, a new chapter and the perfect ending – it’s a happy ending,” says Robbie about settling his differences with his old chums Gary Barlow, 39, Mark Owen, 38, Jason Orange, 40, and Howard Donald, 42.

When Gary joined Robbie to sing their duet Shame on Wednesday night, it was clear they were having the time of their lives larking around, and the Take That tour is going to be the must-have ticket for next summer. Looking back on his solo material, the double CD release this week proves there’s more to Robbie than Angels.

Feel and Supreme still sound as fresh as the day they first came out and while some didn’t get what Robbie, 36, was trying to achieve on his Rudebox album, tracks like She’s Madonna with the Pet Shop Boys paved the way for a lot of the electro pop in the charts today. Rob is stoked when I praise that song and admits: “I was a big fan of that

tune, even if I say so myself. Reality Killed The Video Star and Rudebox came out and didn’t do as well as my old albums used to do, which disappointed me as there were a few great songs there that people missed.

“Lovelight, She’s Madonna... they’re on this album and now hopefully they’ll find a proper home. It’s just nice full stop, 20 years in with this whole Take That thing on the horizon.

“I seem to have settled a mental score with myself.”

After selling 57million albums, seven of which were No 1s, and earning a place in the Guinness World Record books for the fastest ever ticket sales, Robbie is still Britain’s top solo male. Last year at the BRITs he won the Outstanding Contribution To Music gong .

I expect to see Take That perform, and win, when the bash moves to London's O2 Arena in February.

With a dressing room full of sushi platters and water, Robbie is living healthily and happily.

Marrying gorgeous Ayda Field, 31, and hooking up with Take That again have done the trick in satisfying him.

A&R man Tim Clarke told Music Week this week he expects another swing album from Robbie when his TT commitments are over. That’s news to him.

"Not now Michael Bublé’s come on – he’s proper,” Robbie insists. “Mine would be a poor imitation of him. The swing thing was the pension fund but Bublé’s come and ruined that. I do love him though."

You can’t keep the smile off Robbie’s face when he’s back discussing the band, though.

I told him when I first heard The Flood it gave me goosebumps.

“It’s epic,” he agreed. “It was noted that it sounds like Muse. I did have a word in Gary’s ear. Both him and I are big Muse fans. They do epic records but are crap at football – I played them the other week.”

When it comes to high scorers, there’s no-one to rival Mr Williams.

Robbie’s In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010 is out now. Take That release single The Flood on November 14 followed by the album Progress on the 22nd.

TT album cover has been revealed. A clever idea to go with the title but I dunno - it looks a bit cheap looking. The font and the horrible colour ruin quite a clever idea if you ask me.
