#6 in the midweeks which shows a great sales increase aswell, i know this is due to the x factor but either way i think the flood at worst will be top 12 on sunday as they still have the royal variety performance to come on thursday night which will boost it aswell, 300,000 in total sales could be got this week.

The flood re climbs 6 places to number 6 in Ireland this week and it also looks likely to do the same in the UK this sunday and re climb to number 6. brilliant song that i just love more and more each time, its take thats 2nd best single since they returned in my opinion with rule the world been first.
#6 and #25 in the latest intunes update,so #6 should be definite in the offical charts, id love to know if it has any chance of top 5, still its doing brilliantly and sellling consisteantly which is great.

Shockingly 'You Know Me' isn't far off the 300K figure

Unlike album sales - singles sales in the past number of years are massive overall - mainly due to downloads dominance - so it's difficult to compare with single sales from 5 or 10 years ago. To compare the UK #1 of Rob's 'Radio' only sold 40K to get to #1 - Bodies sold that in a single day. Sales is beyond massive now compared to the physical singles years.

The Flood didn't quite pass the 300K figure last week but should have done now.

Thanks for that info andi agree its hard or unfair to compare single sales as the era are so different on the whole.

Ya the flood was just a few thousand short of 300,000 but with this weeks sales it should up in or around 330,000.

Artists must make sod all money from single sales these days though. At least when people were buying physical single cds they were spending a couple of quid. With downloads what is it? 99p? 69p a pop?

Albums ain't much better. All the money seems to be in touring at the moment.

take that have no worries there, especially tour wise they will make huge money, with albums there is money to be made when u can sell in numbers like take that.
Yip. And the fact they have sole writing credits will help too. Tons of royalties. Not all going to Gaz this time though

Well seeing as it's split five ways they really must be making feck all from singles - pocket change to them  Album sales would bring in a bit - but what is the going rate for an artist these days - £2 per copy? That's based on the amount of copies bought by retailers - so by the end of the year around 2.5M will have been officially shipped worldwide - so thats £5M for the lads - a million each. Probably pushing it even at that tbh

The tour will bring in big bucks though. Even though media claims of £15M each is unlikely - it will still make them millions each.

non mover at #7 in the uk this week, i was ure it would be out of the top 10 this week, but im guessing next week it will probably drop to something like number 17 or #18.
non mover at number 7 in the UK this week, i was fully expecting it to be out of the top 10 this week, although next week it will probably plummet to something like #17 or 18. A t this stage though i think the flood will eventually managed 400,000 or there abouts in total sales.
