One of the heavier and more vehement moments of the 'At War With The Mystics' set, 'The W.A.N.D' was described by Flaming Lips' charismatic vocalist Wayne Coyne as being, "like Black Sabbath getting mashed up with Sly and the Family Stone or Stevie Wonder". - HMV

1. The W.A.N.D.

2. You Got To Hold On

3. The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song (In Anatropous Reflex)

4. The W.A.N.D. [Video]

I saw the video on VH2. I would like it to do well, but sadly I suspect that it wont go Top40.

I can certainly see the Black Sabbath meets Sly & the Family Stone references in the track.

Sadly, you're probably right, the "Indie Kids" these days seem to prefer their bands to be generic, bland and identikit these days to actually having some character and individuality....

I like this! B)

Fantastic, brilliant, one of my favourite songs right now. Keep playing the album.

:( Actually those "indie kids" can keep their generic bland (I too find myself using those words) stuff, when the rest of us can enjoy bands like the Flaming Lips - here's hoping the WAND finds a place in the top 40 this Sunday.

has anyone got that album where you have to play 4 records at once? if so does it work? have you managed to get them all to play at the same time?

You mean "Zaiereeeka" (I think that's how you spell it anyway....). Me and a mate of mine once set it up on 4 record turntables ages ago. Put altogether it is a quite astonishing, headfukkin' piece of work.

Especially when accompanied by some mind-altering substances....
