December 14, 201113 yr Snoop Dogg to feature in "The Boys US Maxi Single" to be released on 20th December 9-member girl group SNSD will be making a US breakthrough, thanks to the support of world-famous hip hop musician Snoop Dogg. According to a music industry insider who is respected in both Korea and America, SNSD will be releasing their US maxi-single “The Boys” under Universal Music Group‘s Interscope Records, home to major artists such as Lady Gaga and Eminem. American music mediums including Amazon have already reported that SNSD’s US maxi single will consist of several different version of “The Boys”, including a slow-tempo English version as well as a club remix, and an a capella version. Many respected individuals have worked on the remix tracks, including Boston-based club DJ Clinton Sparks. Famous rapper Snoop Dogg himself has featured in the new “The Boys” remix, further heightening anticipation for the track release. Snoop Dogg is an important figure of the West Coast hip hop scene. He is a legend of the music industry, and has been nominated for numerous Grammy awards over the years. The insider continued, “Numerous world-famous musicians have participated in SNSD’s first U.S. single project, including Snoop Dogg. They don’t have any specific plans to promote in the US, however, it could happen if the right opportunity came along.” This is the first time SNSD will be releasing a brand new song in English within the States. The English version of “The Boys” off their third full-length album released this past October secured the #74 spot on US iTunes, and fans have high expectations for this US maxi single release as well. America has already built an appreciation for K-pop’s trendy music and modern choreography, and therefore SNSD’s US debut is expected to garner much attention. There are a limited amount of girl groups in the States that incorporate dance choreography with music, and this alone should help the girls stand out. The U.S. is a major pop music market where the influence of a hit producer can take you far, and because SNSD has already worked with Michael Jackson‘s producer Teddy Riley, expectations for their maxi-single is quite high. The maxi-single is slated for release on December 20th. Meanwhile, the girls will be promoting their follow-up track “Mr. Taxi” in Korea for the rest of the year, and they will round out the year in Japan, attending NHK’s ‘Red & White Singing Battle’ on the 31st. source: allkpop 1 Minute Teaser of "The Boys" in Japanese released ------------ The Boys in Japanese flows so well..... This is going to mess up my plays on iTunes  Edited December 14, 201113 yr by Oricon

December 20, 201113 yr Author The maxi single is released :w00t: It's £7.92 on iTunes  Just noticed the regular Clinton Fries mix isn't on there either, just the rap versions :(
December 20, 201113 yr I am NOT buying it for £7.92 as much as I love the girls. Far too much *Goes off and download it off a K-Pop sharing site *
December 21, 201113 yr Author Which site? There's a controversy now about their singing in Japanese, apparently their accents are not good, and the host of Heyx3 made a joke about it (he's from a comedy duo called Downtown, sort of a Japanese Ant & Dec) though in general they sound fine to me, apart from Yoona (I'm not a Yoona hater, but she really sounds like she's singing in Chinese...)
December 21, 201113 yr Yoona doesn't sound like singing in Chinese, if she did I would've understanded her a bit. The host for Hey x3 is always that rude though so :\ Found a site with 192kps but I'm waiting for at least 256kps first. Edited December 21, 201113 yr by Oricon
December 26, 201113 yr Girls' Generation are advancing to the European Market on January Under Interscope Records, SNSD will be reading to knock on the doors of the European market with a special album release of ‘The Boys‘! On January 17th, 2012, the girls will be releasing a special album in the United States, Canada, France, and England featuring songs from their third album, as well as Korean, English and remix versions of ‘The Boys’. This will mark the girls’ official debut in the European market following the release of their U.S. debut with ‘The Boys’ maxi-single earlier this month. ‘The Boys’ managed to debut at #122 on the iTunes on December 21st, with the English version of ‘The Boys’ having ranked in at #74 back with their October release. Considering the fact that they haven’t promoted at all in the country yet, the K-Pop fever is being felt all across the world. On December 26th, SM Entertainment stated, “SNSD will be promoting actively on stages all across the world, not only Korea and Japan. The members will also be pursuing a more diverse range of individual activities like dramas and musicals.”
December 28, 201113 yr Author DAEBAK :D I wish they would release more English songs for the European market though. December 28, 201113 yr Author True, I think that's because there are more international writers and producers involved in thea Japanese material...
December 29, 201113 yr The remixes itself sound SOOO much better than The Boys remixes which had the most awkward features EVER! Anyways they're coming to Hong Kong on 2012 which I'll be going in the summer so I hope they will come then so I can see my gorgeous ladies there
December 29, 201113 yr Author It's true, that would have made a better maxi-single for the US, even though the tracks are in Japanese. Oh really? Soooooo jealous :o Then again I'm getting married next year and going to New York, so I don't think I'm complaining :heehee:
December 29, 201113 yr :o Really? Congrats on your engagement :cheer: even though I might be years late in saying this :P
