I assume it's a cover of the Gym Class Heroes/Neon Hitch song 'Ass Back Home' - bizarre to see it so high though as it's not exactly smashing it in the USA.

f***ing hell the last time I was on iTunes about 2 days ago Gotye was languishing at about #23 and now its shot up to #1 :o

Oh how I envy the Irish sometimes - why can't Gotye be #1 and Twilight flopping in the UK as well? :(

 

I see 'Ass Back Home' has been released in Ireland at last, with fake versions doing so well it could shoot straight to #1 soon. Dunno how long it's been out though. Wonder if it'll be released in the UK tonight.

Emeli Sande up to 2 with Next to You, very good for her hope she does just as well in the UK.

That's a very strong start for Emeli Sandé in Ireland and bodes well for the single release on Sunday. So 'Next To Me' will most likely be the UK no. 1 next week. :D If Gotye can get to no. 1 on Sunday, that will be three brilliant UK #1 singles in a row.

Emeli now #1 - looks like DJ Fresh hasn't released in Ireland yet though as it doesn't seem to be top 300?
