Judging by the comments on the Dimmu Borgir thread, I would say that Cradle of Filth aren't overly popular here anymore. But I'm guna have to post this anyway.

My reasoning for posting this is to inform haters that Cradle are back! I have only heard the first song (The Cult of Venus Aversa), Lilith Immaculate and Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)

At this current time, The Cult Of Venus Aversa is what I'm listening to. I would seriously compare this to the Nymphetamine album. Cradle have quite clearly read up the complaints about Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder and took action. However, there is one similarity, Like GSOTDT was a concept album about Gilles De Rais, DDVA is a concept album about Lillith, a character of Jewish Mythology.

The track listing is as follows:

01 - The Cult Of Venus Aversa - 7:07

02 - One Foul Step From The Abyss - 4:53

03 - The Nun With The Astral Habit - 4:55

04 - Retreat Of The Sacred Heart - 3:56

05 - The Persecution Song - 5:34

06 - Deceiving Eyes - 6:32

07 - Lilith Immaculate - 6:12

08 - The Spawn Of Love And War - 6:19

09 - Harlot On A Pedestal - 5:09

10 - Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned) - 4:33

11 - Beyond Eleventh Hour - 7:16

Limited Edition Bonus Disc

01 - Beast Of Extermination - 5:32

02 - Truth and Agony - 5:56

03 - Mistress From The Sucking Pit - 7:00

04 - Behind The Jagged Mountains - 5:44

05 - Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned) [Music Video]

As I've stated at the 'Abrahadabra' thread, I do like a bit of 'Forgive Me Father'. I fear I'm not gonna like this new album as I find the last one a bit of a borefest. LOL

However, I have to tell you, it is not at all like Godspeed On The Devils Thunder. It is so much more better. Plus there isn't a single instrumental on this album.

He has resorted back to his old style of voice, the constant high pitched shrieks. In fact I would compare The Cult Of Venus Aversa to that of The Dusk and Her Ebrace album. The rest is more like Nymphatemine album.

GOOD GOD... I don't believe it... I downloaded this last night, and, well, not listened to it all yet, but FUKK ME, it's actually seems to be their best album since "Midian" (which I really liked) going from what I've heard so far... Some of it is even quite extreme in places.... I'm shocked, a bit stunned even.. Pleasantly, but shocked nontheless....

Can it be that CoF are back on form after almost a decade....?

I wouldn't say it was as good as recent efforts from Dimmu or Dark Tranquillity, but still.....

Abrahadabra is still much better IMO, but yes, it is most certainly a better release than much of their latest efforts.
