November 11, 201014 yr Yes, i would be very surprised if progress doesnt outsell bw and the circus outside europe as robbie has a big fan base there where take that dont.
November 12, 201014 yr Author the album's final success depends on how it will sell in Britain! I can only see this selling 500,000 copies outside of England... especially from judging the flood's reception so far! (chartwise).. There hasn't been any promotion in Germany (Europe in general). The Flood is out for weeks now and it will chart within the Top 10 without any promotion. Not to bad. They'll have decent sales in Europe, but they have to PROMOTE the album.
November 13, 201014 yr Take That have surely underperformed but their album will still sell over 250K first week, that's for sure.
November 13, 201014 yr Take That have surely underperformed but their album will still sell over 250K first week, that's for sure. Dont be so confident....after the shocking chart placing of their latest single certainly doesnt make their album guarenteed to sell by the bucketload. time will tell.
November 13, 201014 yr Dont be so confident....after the shocking chart placing of their latest single certainly doesnt make their album guarenteed to sell by the bucketload. time will tell. Massive promotion this weekend then CIN next Friday and the fact the single isnt doing great suggests more people are waiting for the album.
November 13, 201014 yr Dont be so confident....after the shocking chart placing of their latest single certainly doesnt make their album guarenteed to sell by the bucketload. time will tell. Greatest Day, Patience, Shine have sold just about the same amount first week, they were just lucky to go to number one unlike The Flood,so nothing new here, but Beautiful World, The Circus were still massive sellers. I am confident Progress will be bigger. Take That will smash it with their album. Edited November 13, 201014 yr by locott
November 14, 201014 yr Singles not be based on chart positions, rule the world never made number 1 but yet is their biggest selling single since the reunion and has well out sold number 1 singles patience, shine and graetest day. The flood will have sales of over 70,000 this week which in many other weeks would net them the number 1 single but with sales so high for rihanna take that will probably lose out. Take That are now an albums act, although singles from the circus werent exactly huge they in nop way reflected the sales of the circus album. Im not sure progress will outsell beautiful world nor the circus but i do think it stands a good chance of doin so and if not it will still eventually sell 2 million in the UK.
November 14, 201014 yr Author That's the answer why The Flood didn't do so well......the album will be massive. Online surge for Take That album Take That's new album has become the biggest pre-order release of the year, Amazon.co.uk said. Progress, the band's first album since reuniting with Robbie Williams, has received twice as many online orders as any other album released this year. It has also been pre-ordered more times than any other Take That album, including the 2008 release The Circus, which is Amazon.co.uk's seventh biggest-selling album of all time. The band's latest release, officially in the shops from Monday, has been tipped to be Christmas Number One. But online sales so far have surpassed expectations. Julian Monaghan, head of music buying at Amazon.co.uk, said: "Take That and Robbie Williams have enjoyed significant chart success over recent years but the demand for this first album with Robbie back in the fold is higher than anything that either of them have achieved before. "It is going to be a massive seller throughout the Christmas period and with the sell-out tour still to follow, it could be at the top end of the music charts for a long time to come." Take That are due to perform on tonight's X Factor results show on ITV1, with an exclusive rendition of their latest single, The Flood. Progress is currently available for pre-order from Amazon.co.uk, priced at £8.93. Fans can also download the album for £3.99 at the Amazon MP3 store The Press Association
November 14, 201014 yr That's the answer why The Flood didn't do so well......the album will be massive. Should break The Circus first week sales then.
November 14, 201014 yr As a huge take that fan i would love progress to beat the circus but i absolutly adore the circus album and its by far their best studio album so im not sure if i want progress to out do it, good dilema to have i suppose so i cant complain!!!
November 15, 201014 yr Author The decisive week has finally arrived. What's your final predictions for first week sales and overall sales?
November 15, 201014 yr Author New estimates: HMV figure of 150,000 applies to them only. Mid week chart sales: Estimates: HMV 150,000 Other retailers 100,000 Amazon 250,000 itunes 250,000 Total: 750,000+ Progress could beat the Oasis record.
November 15, 201014 yr I would absolutly love this to happen, im confident of 450,000 open sales but after that im not as confident.
November 16, 201014 yr Im really looking forward to this weeks mid week charts and im hoping with get sales information along the way. Its gona be Take Taht fever this week i think and im looking forward to it aswell.
November 16, 201014 yr Author 235k first day sales  http://www.musicweek.com/story.asp?section...1043316&c=1 Sales will be over 500k on Sunday.....
November 16, 201014 yr It is still 'only' the 2nd biggest 1st Day Album Sale, in the UK. On Thursday 21st August 1997, 'Be Here Now', by Oasis, sold 356,000 UK copies. In its 1st 3 Days, it sold 696,000. So - the 235,000 1st Day Sales of the Take That Album, is still 121,000 less than the Oasis Album sold, on the first Day. Edited November 16, 201014 yr by zeus555
November 16, 201014 yr Im not knocking Oasis success as they done amazingly well with that album, but the cd/albums market is very different today than what it was like when oasis released that album.
November 17, 201014 yr Author Progress is No. 1 on amazon in Germany.....it'll be released on Friday. Not bad considering there hasn't been any serious promotion. Sales will be huge here as well. It'll definately be Take That's biggest album ever.......
