Everyone whinging about it being a fix: are you HONESTLY telling me you've only just realised now? The show is incredibly blatant about it half the time - let's face it, it wasn't a vote between Louis's head and his heart, it was a vote between his head and his contractual obligations to do what Simon tells him to lest he get the boot again like he nearly did a few years back.

Are you honestly thinking that Simon's going to go to the expense of buying out somebody's contract for them to just go out in week 5? No, at the very LEAST he wants to try and turn Katie into a Diana Vickers figure, but I don't think he quite realised that he was overdoing the love-hate factor to a point where, well, pretty much everyone hates Katie.

Poor Treyc :( Just becomes another victim of the never-ending nightmare that is The Weasel. The show obviously needed her to stay in as long as possible because well as much as she cant sing that well, seems an utter tit, is in her third bottom 2 appearance and didnt even finish the bloody song - she does get the show publicity. However this week they really have f***ed up, because had Cheryl been allowed to take it to deadlock where presumably Treyc still would have been eliminated (though maybe not thinking about it, maybe they needed her to stay in so baddly they wouldnt allow Cheryl to go to deadlock) people wouldnt have an such an issue I take it....

Interesting, and a great shame of course, I've always championed Treyc as one of my favourites and she was really back on-form this week but I suppose she was on borrowed time really. Sigh. At least TescoMary lives on.

But yes, do calm down somewhat people. This isnt the first unfair relaity tv elimination and it certainly wont be the last.

It's funny how Simon said the public want to see Katie....when they obviously don't if she's in the bottom two for the third time.

I thought it was against the rules not to vote? Dermot shouldn't have gave up that easily on Cheryl and Cheryl said that she would take it to deadlock so Dermot should have at least gone back to Cheryl so she could take it to deadlock as she was still to vote! Actually very angry about that.

Katie's perfect 'car crash TV'. The public may not 'like her' and vote for her but I guarantee you don't go to get a cup of tea when Katie's on, she's a train wreck that you just have to stare at  What Simon meant is that they can plonk Katie on towards the end of the show and people will keep watching just to see what she's up to - even if they despise it! TreyC, though a fantastic vocalist, didn't have any quirk or outstanding feature, she was like the new Jamelia/Beverley Knight or something, amazing vocals but just doesn't make for very interesting, must see TV. This is a talent contest, but first and foremost it's a TV show. Simon and his lapdog Louis do what's best for keeping the show in the press, Dannii's the only judge that always speaks the truth but seems to be completely ignored most of the time.

That's what I thought when she said she'd let it go to deadlock (or did she say she wouldn't let it go to deadlock). Unless she's a dumbass and can't count ... then there is no way that a best of three would end in deadlock. Stupid cow.

There's only Danni in this whole debacle that comes out with a shred of dignity. And I don't even like Danni that much.

TreyC deserved to go, she's so dull, boring and just as big headed and fame hungry as Katie, only she's not been as successful in her quest for fame as Katie. Her performances have ranged from boring to, in fact they've stayed there.

Katie is a bit different, completely crazy maybe, but she stands out from the crowd and it's what the X Factor needs, not some ballad belter like Treyc.

It's not completely unreasonable to vote her out, she was bottom two before anyways, and would have gone next week. Katie will go next week but at least she's entertaining.

Cheryl was awful. Regardless of whether they're her acts she should have voted one of them off. It's in her contract to do that as a judge.

Both acts are awful. TreyC has a good voice, but she is bland and forgettable and never stood a chance. Katie on the other hand, is awful as well, but she probably does a lot better for the ratings hence why Simon has taken a liking too her.

It's yet another cop out. Over the years, one judge has found themselves with two acts in the bottom two and they've had to choose one of them.

Sharon Osbourne infamously refused which, like Tyron has mentioned, probably went against her contract. Might be one of the reasons why Sharon is no longer a judge amongst other things.

Erm it's live television, they can't spend half an hour persuading the 'Nations Sweetheart' to vote. She said 'I'm not sending one of them home' first, so she doesn't deserve the right to vote anyways.

Oh and it's not against the rules not to vote, Sharon did it in XF4.

Katie survives yet again! The tabloids will have a field day in the morning

And THAT is exactly what Simon wants.

Anything in the 'contract' can no doubt be overruled by Simon whispering in the producer's ears during the break to sort out a last minute rule change to ensure that it doesn't get the chance to go to deadlock!
I'd just appreciate it, if she could at least make an effort. She sat down in the middle of her performance, GAVE UP, and howled like a wolf through the last 30 seconds.

Treyc gives a spotless performance of Unbreak My Heart - and they put her out over that tuneless fraud? Ridiculous.

Did you watch the sing off? TreyC was out of tune for most of it. The lower parts of the song were dreadful and the higher notes were strained.

Katie lost her way in her song definitely, but what she did sing was way better than Treyc's 'offering'.

Hence Cheryl not voting or being given the chance to take it to deadlock. Simon probably found out during the commercial break that Katie was last on public votes but didn't want her leaving the contest. Whisper whisper, and hey presto!!! :magic:

It's quite funny Cheryl/Dermot interchange in the process of the voting. It was quite obvious she was dreading it. Poor Dermot she will start snobbing him too. She might have so words with Master. Cowell too.
It doesn't really matter who stays or goes, only 3 contestants will make it to the final and only one will win. They may as well have kept Katie in, rather than Trey C who would have been sent home next week if she had stayed tonight.

How boring must your life be if the X-factor is supposed to be somewhere for you to watch entertaining, crazy people-get a hobby.People who watch in the hopes that an act with talent will get the oppurtunity to win is why most people watch. It is a complete farce his year.Katie has messed up her audition, judges houses countless sing offs she should have gone and her weak attempt to carry a tune.

Im glad Katie survived, but she comes accross boring and im never excited for her performance or after hearing it either.

I suppose that's a fair point, I doubt either Katie or Treyc would have won it ever.

It's still annoying though. :/
