November 9, 201014 yr Author  Oh I dunno. I think most of those buying tickets are TT fans rather than exclusively Robbie fans. Although there might be a lot more ticket returns when the TT fans hear the new album. (You'll probably like it but I'm thinking you might be in a minority when it comes to the TT general fanbase :P )

Although there might be a lot more ticket returns when the TT fans hear the new album. (You'll probably like it but I'm thinking you might be in a minority when it comes to the TT general fanbase :P ) If the reviews are right ... it looks like they picked the wrong (most boring) song to lead with. And the sales of The Flood appear to be proving me right. It is as I said ... an OK song ... not an epic. Kath
November 9, 201014 yr Author But it is supposed to be the song on the new album deemed to be the most commercial and most like TT's previous stuff. And if it's not being overwhelmingly embraced by the TT fans... Having said that, maybe the fans are just waiting for the album. :w00t:
November 9, 201014 yr Oh I dunno. I think most of those buying tickets are TT fans rather than exclusively Robbie fans. Wouldn't be so sure on that, I think there are quite a few exclusive Robbie fans
November 9, 201014 yr Author If Robbie quits before the tour there will certainly be loads of spare tickets for the European shows anyway.
November 9, 201014 yr If Robbie quits before the tour there will certainly be loads of spare tickets for the European shows anyway. You're right - apart from Denmark ... which has always been 100% loyal to TT as a five and a four. I think it was the only European venue on the BW tour that was filled to capacity. All the others I think were at best three quarters full. I'm sure he won't quit ... but if he did ... I think Take That would just cancel the European leg. Kath
November 9, 201014 yr Author I don't know any Robbie fans. In my RL that is. Just me. I know loads of TT fans though.
November 9, 201014 yr Did TT do stadiums in Europe the last time Kath or was it arenas? I think it was just arenas ... but Denmark was the most popular ... they did three nights (Aalborg?). They did six arenas in Germany too (Berlin Velodrome was one) and they were well attended. I don't think they had full turnouts in Italy, Holland or Spain though ... but I could be wrong. Are the venues in Europe this time stadiums? Kath
November 9, 201014 yr Author Oh  Not sure actually. I thought they were but I could be wrong.
November 9, 201014 yr I've just checked and its so weird. I thought they'd do more European dates with Robbie being on board ... but they're doing less than half the European dates they did on the BW tour! It looks like they're all arenas except one (Munich). Kath
November 9, 201014 yr Author The San Siro in Italy is definitely a stadium. ^_^ I think Parken in Denmark is a stadium. I'm sure Robbie played there last time. Amsterdam Arena is actually a stadium I think. Imtech Arena looks like a stadium when I googled it :P Esprit Arena likewise. A football stadium I think. And the Olympic stadium in Munich. 6 stadium gigs I think ^_^
November 9, 201014 yr These are the ones they did on the BW Tour - again I don't know which is a stadium and which is an arena. From what I remember of fans reviews on the old TT site - the Denmark ones were full (sold out) and the others were well-attended but not entirely sold out. Barcelona - Palau Sant Jordi Bologna - Pala Malaguti Milan - Datchforum Vienna - Stadhalle Zurich - Hallenstadion Cologn - Koln Arena Hamburg - Color Line Arena Rotterdam - Ahoy Arena Stuttgart - Schleyerhalle Berlin - Velodrom Frankfurth - Festhalle Oberhausen - Konig Pilsener Arena Aalborg - Gigantium (X2) Copenhagen - Forum Copenhagen Although some of them are arenas - they do have quite large capacities. Kath
November 9, 201014 yr All of those venues are arenas - many with capacity's of less than 10,000 (The Denmark venue for example is 8,500 for gigs). The six dates for this tour are all in stadiums, the biggest of which is the San Siro which holds between 80-90,000 for a gig - if it does eventually sell out it will be their biggest gig of the tour. What I am shocked at with regard to the European Stadium gigs is that it has not been made clear that Robbie will be singing solo material. His name is not on the ticket abroad. The only reason they are playing stadiums is due to his popularity yet it has not been properly marketed in this way whatsoever. Many fans around the forums claim they only know Rob will be singing solo material because they are on forums daily - otherwise they wouldn't have any idea. I've heard some claim they struggled to get friends to buy tickets with them, despite them being Robbie fans, because they did not believe Robbie would be singing solo. Believe it or not but many fans, the non die-hards accross Europe and beyond are not even aware Rob has rejoined TT. It may be huge news in the UK and Ireland but I highly doubt it made the nation news in even remotely the same extent elsewhere. In many places it was probably just mentioned in the papers that Robbie has rejoined his old band with little else coverage. The whole thing has been very badly managed to say the least. Firstly, TT are playing huge stadiums in countries where both comeback albums flopped - the management only put these dates in stadiums due to Robbie's huge popularity across Europe (very few artists could sell out staidums even if their album went top 10), but yet failed to inform the public to the extent needed. Even people with very little knowledge of music charts and tours could clearly see that a band who's last album limped in at #68 are hardly going to fill a huge stadium - therefor it is not rocket science that the part about Robbie should have been marketed much much more than it was, especially in places where this wasn't on Sky News on the hour every hour mentioning he was doing a solo slot because outside the UK/Ireland - I doubt it was mentioned outside Showbiz type of shows. For the promoters not to have realized something so bloody obvious is really quite shocking. Having said that I do think once they start promoting properly across Europe the tickets will start selling properly with more dates being added, especially in Germany where I am shocked the dates have yet to sell out, consdiering TT's two albums did quite well there. The Wetten Das appearance will have a very positive effect I think. Both the European dates not selling out and The Flood under-performing (so far) are both as result from a mixture of naivety and frankly arrogance if you ask me.
