November 14, 201014 yr Viewing figures suggest 5.1 million people watched at its peak. This is slightly more than Take That's 'When The Circus Came To Town' ... but two million less than the 'Girls Aloud' party a year or so back. Kath
November 14, 201014 yr Oh I see him. He's on drums in the sound booth He's there somewhere !!! I'm going to bed...my eyes are raggy from the PC Night !!! BTW...The guys are on CIN next Friday
November 14, 201014 yr I liked Marks idea about the album saying not to take that safe route but to go for it whether it be great or sh*t ....
November 14, 201014 yr Elton getting summarily dismissed  I really don't think it looks right for a guy of Elton's advancing years to be wearing a track suit. Surely a silk dressing gown and slippers would have been more appropriate. Kath

Kath Considering that it was on after the XF which got 15M - to only peak at 5M is disappointing. Although to be fair doesn't the Xtra Factor on ITV2 get a lot of viewers? It clashed with that. Considering it is repeated right now I think when combined it will easily overtake the Girls Aloud figure. Elt always looks like a fool in his tracksuit. He is aging badly though facially.

He is aging badly though facially. It was up against further competition ... I know a lot of people who were watching the Neil Diamond documentary on another channel (although this started after the start of LBDS) and as you point out ... the Xtra Factor. Elton reminds me more of Jimmy Saville by the day! Kath
November 15, 201014 yr Author Awwwww Eight Letters sung by Robbie was wonderful. I do like the Gary version on the album but Robbie has a sweeter, softer voice. I want to hear a Robbie version. I wonder if it was actually fully recorded by him?
November 15, 201014 yr I am sure he recorded it in full. I agree his version sounded really great - I loved his vocal on it. It should have been released as a B-side or something IMO. I really want to hear Rob's version in full. What is your verdict on the documentary overall then? :smoke:
November 15, 201014 yr Author I enjoyed it. I think Jason, Robbie and Mark came across best. Gary ok too. Howard a bit distant I thought. Not sure about him. I still give it all 6 months max though .... :P
November 15, 201014 yr Author If you go to 4.10 on this clip you get Rob singing Eight Letters (well, a bit of it anyway) mUtLpVX0_b4
November 15, 201014 yr Howard is usually quite and reserved in most interviews but when he does get involved i think he seems quite a nice guy.
November 15, 201014 yr Awwwww Eight Letters sung by Robbie was wonderful. I do like the Gary version on the album but Robbie has a sweeter, softer voice. I want to hear a Robbie version. And the other side of the coin ... it'd be nice to hear Gary's lead version on the other songs. The Flood for example. That would satisfy both sides I suppose. Kath I really want to listen to the whole album soon (I've got too much on at the moment to listen to even one song all the way through) but the only sticking point I can find so far ... is that every song seems to have a 'pinched' bit from something else. For example ... SOS sounds more and more like EDILYLAL. And Eight Letters .... DEFINITELY some liberties have been taken with Ultravox's Vienna ... perhaps enough for Midge Ure to seek a fraction of the royalties. Edited November 15, 201014 yr by Kathyp
November 16, 201014 yr I'm wondering is it just me who saw this... When they picked Flood for a first single, right after that Robbie said second single, and then I can read from Garys' lips that he said Wait. Then he and Robbie were the first ones who voted for it.
November 16, 201014 yr Wait would not be a good choice IMO. I like that song but it isn't powerful enough really - SOS and Kidz would both make better singles. Besides in order to balance things out a Mark Owen lead is needed for the second single - plus both SOS and Kidz feature Robbie too so either make sense, not Wait! November 16, 201014 yr Oh dear! Not everyone liked LBDS! Hamish McBain, NME: http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=148...;more=1&c=1 I must admit ... scroll down the comments ... I'm surprised at the amount of NME blog readers who think the writer is an absolute knob! Its quite encouraging. Kath
November 16, 201014 yr The documentary got its first showing on an irish tv station tonight at 10 pm so it should give the album a push here aswell, i got to watch it all in full and was very enjoyable, the clips of the songs used represent the album very well.
