Amazing as ever. So the monsters took her in the car and then dragged her into the forest (same forest from the concert and t?). Or she escaped afterwards and that's why the shot of the car is at the end (and why she looks happier)..

She's in the car the entire time but she's imagining being kidnapped by the clump monsters... Thats my take on it anyway. I really hope this is some prequel to the original videos. She belongs in the forest.

Oh my god the car!

That's what I thought too, you can tell she's in some kind of moving vehicle at times because you can see the bottom of a window and trees going past.

Another strong song, probably more of a grower than a lot of the previous tracks have been though.

I wondered if the videos were going to go all 'Momento'-esque and tell a story backwards in small sections of video.

Either that or the story in the videos just makes sense once watched as an album and we're getting the singles out of sequence.

omg just noticed.

Just seen this on tumblr, definitely worth a read!

"Starting with the album name, “kin,” one can deduce this has to do with familial relations.

To start, we’ll have to do backtracking. In clump, we see the small child walking through the field on it’s own, part of Jonna’s memories while she’s trying to think of something better than her own reality. At the end of the video, however, she runs away from it and the child is left in the field abandoned. We don’t know why, but we can assume that she did this out of necessity and for the child’s own good…and then we saw the video sever.

Sever starts with Jonna looking very, very upset. Almost unsettlingly so. Behind her is a room that we’ve seen in both b and y, and all of the sudden a humanoid clump of hair (whom we’ll call Clump for clarification purposes), rises and goes to the window to shut the blinds. HOWEVER, the blinds are, from the outside, showing the inside of the apartment, but when you see them behind Jonna, you see the white room. Another parallel between two different realities—one internal and one, well, the actual reality (see down below at Good Worker). It seems to be a depressing, darker, and older version of the child we saw in the video clump. When the camera shows Jonna again, Clump tries to get her attention but she shakes her head and ignores it, only looking forward until Clump is gone. Jonna then holds her stomach as if she were pregnant, and what immediately comes to mind is a lost child, and then Clump hits her. She struggles with Clump for sometime and then succumbs into dancing with it. Jonna goes out of the frame and comes back in, dancing alone.

Clump (the humanoid figure) represents the memory of a lost child and extreme guilt over having to abandon it. Guilt so big, I’d say it verges on the edge of insanity, which is why when she comes back into the frame, she’s dancing by herself, imagining things (maybe symbolic of her coming to terms with what she’s done/her insanity because she’s too exhausted to fight it anymore). And then

Drops was released. It begins showing her dancing by herself still, kinda’ out control. It zooms in on an electrical outlet. She stops dancing and goes to a fur rug that looks like it’s made from Clump. She sinks and sinks, and falls through the first floor, then falls through them all. It shows a man in the building opposite struggling to keep his own [brown-haired] Clump stuck inside a closet, away from himself. This shows that other people have their Clumps, or so-called skeletons in the closet—whatever the man might be guilty or insecure about, that’s what Clump represents. Then, it shows another room of the opposite building. We see the child from clump. Jonna sings,

“One more drop, Costs you all, Sticks like glue, Obstructs my view.”

In the same room as the child, we see a man laying in a bed, and the child hides behind a wall. I think this means that the child is actually doing okay in some sense, and is safe, but because of Jonna’s relapses into her guilt-insanity, it costs her everything and she’s unable to search for it, “obstructing her view.”

Finally, she falls into the garage and stops, laden in what looks like battle armour made from the very floors she fell through. Hitting the bottom floor is exactly that—she’s hit rock bottom, and now she has nowhere to go but up, and so she tries to fight, hence the battle armour. Clump is sitting on the car, and walks towards her. She struggles to get up, and finally succeeds, look as though she was just hit by a train (though she very well might’ve with that fall, ha-ha). In her right hand is a sword, and she looks as though she’s going to defend herself. Then she starts singing again, but starts too look very insecure and loses hope, and Clump starts to multiply. Her fears and guilt gets worse, and eventually overcomes her entirely, because we see all six (five or six?) of the Clumps barrel into her.

And finally, we’re left with good worker. Jonna is shown in a pile of what is the Clumps’ fur, and she’s observing what’s happened around her. We see the lights above her, showing the ceiling of what is the garage, but is reminiscent of a hospital, too. She can’t move and she’s stuck singing while she’s being brought where-ever. Then we see the various terrains where she’s being dragged through by Clump (the first it looked like from the Concert, the second t). And then we see a parallel reality of her driving in the car. Sometimes they share lyrics, but sometimes only one of the realities will sing the lyrics. When she sings

“I made a good and steady friend, a companion through life. But who am I when all I am is your designated wife.”

When starts to look worried while singing, and when it gets to the part, “is your designated wife,” Jonna doesn’t sing it but looks around extremely upset.

The juxtaposition of the two realities is showing what’s happening to her in real life (her being driven in the car), and what she feels is happening emotionally (she’s bound and forced to go someplace, maybe against her will). This, as aforementioned, happened in Sever, too, with the window behind her.

And then we see Clump dragging her through the field from what looks like clump. The sky gets darker and the terrain snowy. The sky has a huge alteration in contrasts, and half of it is light blue/dark blue, and morphs into a red colour.

A note: As videos progress, things get more emotional and more serious. Sever’s emotions were based on intense sadness and ignorance of a situation, but drops began building emotion based on tension and rising action (the literary kind). And, even continued further, good worker is getting darker and Jonna seems like she’s becoming aware of the situation she’s in, and the videos start to hint as something bigger when you see how drastically the colours in the sky change from blue to red. All of the movements by the Clumps are calculated and the lack of colour for more realistic intimacy are no mistake. This is building up to something, an epiphany.

I would also even go as far to say that the child-clump/Clump could stand for her loss of innocence/dealing with her personality now and how she feels. Iamamiwhoami’s videos never have a singular meaning, and each character portrays a handful of stories and characters at a time. We’ll just have to find out in play.=]

Regardless, these videos are beautiful and I’ve never been more emotionally inspired and aldfja;sdk than anything in my life."

CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE NOW.

'Good Worker' just fully clicked with me.

So good.

I would say finally but y only just clicked with me the other day.

sever's gonna be hard for her to beat for me. Just perfect.

also I watched the concert again yesterday and I can't express how jealous I am of that volunteer. Dancing with Jonna on my bucket list as of now.

Time for one of these! I know 'Drops' and 'Good Worker' seem quite low but everything above them are literally perfection. 'Sever' is definitely within reach of number two, but the last few minutes of 'T'... http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/icons/disco.gif

Shows how good it all is because B is still great.

It makes me really sad that I can't seem to get into this as much as everyone else is! I love the concept but none of it goes much further than NICE to me :(

t and sever are great though yeaa

I mourn for you Chris :(

This is so cool. The album cover released after all the songs where she's seen in full light?

I guess so. It'd be like confirming that iamamiwhoami is Jonna Lee. Which was already obvious two years ago but still unconfirmed by her.
