A question_-

Do you think the progress era combined, progress, progressed, progress live cd, progress live cd, singles, will or has outsell/outsold the circus era, circus studio album, live album, DVD and singles?

Hard to tell as of yet,

The circus has sold roughly 2.1 million to date

Progressed including progressed has sold almost 2.3 million to date but in a sense had an advantage of a re release which the circus didnt have, if it had done i would think the circus wold be on around 2.4 million sales.

The circus live album has sold in or around 700,000 but i cant see the latest live selling cd selling any more than 300,000.

The circus dvd im assuming has sold around 1 million copies and the latest dvd could potentially sell the same.

In terms of singles the circus overall would have a higher total amounts than progres/progressed.

So overall it could work out quiet level on a UK basis, however should the latest live cd sell alot more than 300,000 it could push the progress era ahead and should the dvd not sell as big as predicted it would mean the circus is a good bit ahead.

However i would say i would have thought robbie been part of the progress era would have added alot more extra sales when in reality UK wise it didnt really make any difference, in a way im glad as it just shows take that didnt need him as such ( i know it wasnt done for that reason) from a profit point of view it probably means less for the boys though as this era has a 5 way split where as before it was a 4 way split. Either way, both eras have been massive successes and even greater when you think of the current sales climate.

Thank you aphrodite. I think the 300,000 prediction for the current live album may be on track considering the album is decreasing rather than increasing its chart position thus far. The DVD I reckon will sell the same amount as the Circus if not greater.

Im in agreeance about Robbie's remergence in the band did not really increase UK sales and probably less money in that respect for Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason due to Robbie claiming his cut of money aswell.

I think i will wait and see how this week goes, if its out of the top 25 this week i think my 300,000 estimate will be wrong and 200,000 at tops could be most, i know there is almost 4 weeks of strong sales left yet so hopefully they can sell reasonably well in those weeks and not just get forgotten about.

I wonder if progressed will manage to stay top 100 again this week, from reading the chart forums am i right in thinking a number 95 example for this week would have the same sales as mabe a number 40 album in most other weeks of the year.

It is 8x platinum so that means it has sold over 2.4million in the UK

It definitly hasnt sold 2.4 million, it may have shipped that amount but its total sales are just on about 2.3 million, so there is about 100,000 floating around the shops which is probably normal enough as people will randonly be buying the album in very low numbers for a while yet.
Could the sales be updated on the front of the main post in this topic if possible, i think it would be easier to keep track of if that is ok?

Ya, im gona do that now, i did mean to do it as i do like having the sales on the front aswell, you wish is my command!!

Thank you,

As the talk is about sales, how many albums have Take That sold in total in the UK and do have worldwide sales?

Take That Never Forget Greatest Hits is no10 on the pop section of the ITunes chart currently. I expect due to the price of 3.95 x

Its one of those album that will always re enter the charts i think for a while yet, even to date it has returned to the charts on numerous occasions which is great for building up sales, the album is currently on around 2.2million Uk sales and those will keeping rising in slow numbers.

The sales for the album are very impressive, especially when you also consider the original greatest hits had sold over 1 million copies in the UK aswell and this album had only 1 extra song. To date the album has a very impressive chart run and sales to back it up and I would agree it has more chart life left in its shelf life.

Without doubt, a greatest hits of the material since they reformed will be released at some stage and I firmly believe it will at the lowest become a million seller, no doubt further down the road again a greatest hits of all their singles will get a release and will also become another million seller plus for them. By the time Take That totally hang up their boots for good they will have at least 8 million selling plus album to their legacy.

Supposedly the original GH has sold 5 million worldwide since release so I imagine that the UK must have contributed at least 1.5 million of that baring in mind it was floating around for 10 years before NF was released.

In the UK since 2005

NF - 2.2million

BW - very nearly 2.9 million

Circus - 2.2 million

Progress -2.3million

Live album 1 - 500k+

Live album 2 - <200k

which gives you over 10million records in 6 years.

Those sales are the same as i have aswell, and all are very impressive, when you add single sales and dvds you can add another few million aswell which again is fantastic.
