I started this thread because unlike an "INC" thread or "What are you listening to" thread I wanted to combine both. But the only rule for this is that your posts must somehow be Britney related. Just random spurts of how you love a song, hate a song, or wanna bitch about how Jive Records will be forever on your $h!t list for not officially releasing 'Amnesia', etc.

THIS IS THE PLACE.

And I shall pop this cherry by saying...

This is my audio bible.

I'd like to have a little rant about 'My Only Wish'

I feel that this should have been released as a christmas single, with a nice little video shot alongside it.

In the UK charts, since downloads were counted, Mariah Careys 'All I Want For Xmas Is You' makes an appearance on the chart every December for a good 4-5 weeks, and I feel that Britneys Christmas song could have had a similar impact.

If it was made available as a single on iTunes, with maybe a remix, or new xmas song, and a inexpensive xmas video was filmed and showed on the various music video stations every xmas, then I think it would quickly get a chart placing and would chart every december, especially if utilised for a commercial, like MCs offering.

I guess what I'm saying is, if we can't have a Xmas album from Brit, then just promote the hell out of My Only Wish.

I think "My Only Wish (This Year)" would've been a sizeable hit if released for Christmas 2000. Britney was quite new and a huge albums/singles seller back then so she'd have had a top 10 in the bag.

I wish there was a video as well, I feel like it could have been very huge (as I love it). I hear it on the radio in America ALL THE TIME.

It's pretty well known here.

AMAZING. I forget how good it is.

It's been released on a few Christmas compilations here in the UK, but that's it.

So I would imagine most people in the UK (I can't speak for other regions) wouldn't be aware of it, so I think, even now, that if given a proper digital release, and a video, it could do very well indeed.

Rant number 2, on it's way shortly.....

OK, second rant....

The B-Side.

Where have they gone? I loved getting a little extra song with each single, but with the arrival of In The Zone, the B-side seemed to die out completely. This is obvious when looking at the Singles collection boxset, where the B-Side slowly gives way to the remix.

I think adding a B-Side, either digitally, or with a CD single, would help boost her sales. I for one would be less inclined to illegally obtain a song, if it were readily available in a HQ download or CD.

Take the whole Circus album era, if I remember correctly Trouble, Quicksand and Rock Boy, weren't actually available to the UK, and i'm sure possibly other songs for other countries.

If these songs were included as B-Sides for Circus, Amy and Radar singles...who knows.....maybe the charting posistions would have been a smidge higher.....instead, i had to download them illegally, as I had no other way of obtaining them.

Bring back the Britney B-side, we always get low quality songs leaking, if they don't make the album cut, then plonk them on as a B-Side!!!

I think it would be a good idea for the next album for them to take the b-sides they would usually use for the singles and put them on the album as a bonus track. It would work like there is 5 songs so you have a chance of getting a different bonus track with every different copy.

Not only would it increase sales from her hardcore fan base searching for every different copy.

But I think it would add some excitement to the physical cd again.

LOL.

^ that is so true!!

blackout is such a good album. she might not have been her best at the time but i think it's just amazing. though i still wish she'd filmed a video for break the ice cos that would have been wicked it's probably my favourite song of hers after chaotic.

Is chaotic really one of your favorite?

It was written and co-produced by Britney!

yeah i love it! i wish it had been a single so that more people could have heard it i think it's seriously underrated

i know it's probably impossible but what's your favourite song of hers?

That is INSANELY hard. With every other artist it's very easy to put that out there. I feel with Britney there are so many elements to her music and so many memories tied to each and every one of her songs that it's hard to say. lol.

I'd have to say it would be between Gimme More and Baby One More Time.

BOMT was the song that introduced me to music. And Gimme More came out when I was kinda leaving the age of innocence so as stupid as this may sounds they are two huge staples in my life. Not to mention they are so insanely good production and vocal wise that it's just heavenly. I feel like she really hits the nail right on the head with her vocals and even though they aren't the strongest they are great at telling a story with emotion and tone.

The Blackout era was my favourite. Very original! I actually enjoyed the animated video and all the conests (fan-made Piece of Me); the idea carried on throughout the Circus era with the whole interactive approach and the Kill the Lights video contest, so I think it was pretty interesting and unusual.

I hope the new album will also incorporate similar concepts.

The one thing that I still can't put up with is that Hot as Ice wasn't released as a single. What a loss....

oh wow i never would have thought baby one more time. i completely agree with you on gimme more though, there was just something about that time that i remember so much and whenever i hear that song it takes me back there. that and piece of me. also toxic reminds me of 2004 in general. i absolutely love it when songs remind me of times in my life.

I KNOOOOW! 'Hot As Ice' is my favorite non-single from Britney! Probably my favorite off of Blackout after the three singles lifted from it.

That is every Britney song for me! LOL. 'Lucky' also does that for me. It's my favorite song off 'Oops'.

just going through her stuff on spotify and they should so do an updated version of the megamix! this original one is amazing but she's had so many more hits since then

JUST under 30 singles released. And hopefully many more to come.
I can't believe it's been over a year since new Brit. I've been listening to 'Circus' again recently, and I forgot how heavenly 'Phonography' was .
