Ed Sheeran really hadn't done a lot though. Like RFC said earlier, his fanbase was from who he was friends with. Even if you go back two months ago and check Hypem, he had literally 3/4 blog entries on him. I don't think he was on a lot of people's radars really until he released that EP at the beginning of the year.

I have to say that I definitely sensed some buzz there at the back end of last year, it wasn't just a name I pulled out of a hat when I was making predictions, his independent EPs were getting more and more successful, his youtube videos had huge numbers of hits, he was working with fairly big name stars and he was still unsigned. I could see that he had the material there to succeed and it was really only a matter of time before he was signed up and pushed. With all of this in mind, I'd have placed him above at least 6 or 7 of the acts that made the eventual Sound Of list in terms of chance to succeed.

Sound Of 2011's acts in this week's UK Top100 Singles:

No12- Jessie J/ Nobody's Prefect

No31- Jessie J ft B.O.B/ Price Tag

No35- Nero/ Guilt

No50- Wretch 32 ft Example/ Unorthodox

No81- Jessie J/ Do It Like A Dude

No82- Nero/ Me And You

I think Jessie J, The Vaccines, Nero, Clare Maguire and Wretch 32 have made significant impacts on the chart following featurings on the sound of 2011 list, with other entries doing better with their albums than they would've without the poll.

As for Jai Paul, the track 'BTSTU' has received a lot of love these past couple of months, although never managed to crack the top 100. Esben & the Witch and Daley remain the only artists to have done nothing since the poll.

The Naked and Famous had a #64 single 'Young Blood' and the likes of Yuck, Jessie J, Wretch 32, Clare Maguire, Nero and the Vaccines have all enjoyed placements on the BBC Radio 1 Playlist. As a whole I'd say that 5 months down the line, the acts have all done pretty well thus far.

Oh yeah, I forgot that charted :drama: Might as well add it to my post I guess
