I think it was Example that described Olly Murs as Diet Will Young :lol: but I do think Olly's got a decent sound which has been evident in his first two singles. It's also interesting to note that this sold more in its first week than 'Ambitions' by Joe McElderry. Joe may have won the battle, but Olly has clearly won the war. Will be interesting to see just how well Olly's album performs when released.

I like this quite a bit actually but it's more fresh to me so I don't know if you only discovered this through UPIII or not? It was definitely one of the stronger entries imo.

Your entry. :D First time I heard this, I judged the song on the first 10 seconds and automatically disliked it. Then after getting over the horrendous intro, I realised that there was a decent tune there. The chorus is really catchy too, and as tonyttt31 said, it sounds like a journey through 5 different dance tracks. Works really well. To think I nearly deleted this in a "can't stand this" way to begin with.

I bought 'Rockferry' after 'Warwick Avenue' was released but I was already familiar with the title track off the album and the sublime 'Mercy' ( :wub: ). So having liked three songs I thought the album would be good. It didn't disappoint too much. I reckon had I left it until the reissue, 'Rain On Your Parade' might well have put me off getting the album as that was really underwhelming for me. :( So I've not been that impressed with 'Well, Well, Well' so I really don't know what the record company are going to choose for the next single. If it's another flop then the record company should just wrap up this era and get Duffy to work on album #3 and hope it contains some "songs". :P

Rihanna would need two more weeks at no. 1 in my chart to just equal the record set by 'Hung Up' and 'Bad Romance'. I can't see a song having longer than 7 weeks at no. 1 - it'd have to be a complete and uuter gem to stay no. 1 in my chart for 8 weeks or even more.

The chart run similarities are purely coincidental. I'm still enjoying this song enough to keep the track inside my top 40. Still needs another 10 weeks to equal the longest run that 'Bad Romance' set at the beginning of the year (spent 30 weeks in my top 40).

07. It sounds like they've tried to do a copycat Will Young 'Friday's Child' album. Still, have to give credit to Olly Murs/record company for some decent original singles. If I were Olly, I'd seriously consider milking this new found fame and success while it lasts.

:lol: Well once a song makes my Pre-Release chart it always makes my personal chart regardless of whether the UK release is cancelled. I will admit that 'Indestructible' hasn't appealed to me in the same way 'Hang With Me' did. So chances of top 10 are looking unlikely but top 20 is possible. Actually, I'll just listen to the track for the rest of the week and force myself to make it #1 this weekend. :D

Ahh yes, Gossip had a slow progression up my chart before finally peaking at #9. 'Dancing On My Own' didn't impact me as much as 'Hang With Me' and Robyn did get #8 in my chart before plummeting the following week.

 

PNAU 'Embrace' is the most successful again climbing up steadily before peaking at no. 3 - can't remember what kept it off the #1 spot.

I thought you were on to me by the time we got to Dancing On My Own as the more I tried, the quicker it plummeted! :D
