I'm LOVING it again now.

One minute i like it, the next i don't, then its f***ing epic, then its vile... :(

I like it personally, it's effortlessly catchy and the lyrics work much better when listening to them in the song itself, although clearly the hype was larger than the sum of its parts. I doubt very much the Madonna and 80s disco influence in general wasn't intended to be seen as a homage (or rip-off whatever side of the fence you sit on) it's not like she would think she would get away with it - I mean it is Madonna.

I personally think it's BRILLIANT. She couldn't do the same thing again. I don't really get the EY comparison, the chorus melody echoes it but in terms of production/lyrics/everything else it's not there at all. I'm impressed by it's subtlety actually. Thank god it's not a Kesha song. Even though it's uptempo, it still makes a big impact, and the lyrics fit so much better than I thought they ever would...

Edit: What Daniel said.

One thing i noticed is that the lyrics have alot more meaning and sound alot less iffy

Not her best song but still a fab tune, I like it alot.

When we got the lyrics a few weeks ago, i though this bit was AWFUL -

Don't be drag, just be a queen

Whether you're broke or evergreen

You're black, white, beige, chola descent

You're lebanese, you're orient

Whether life's disabilities

Left you outcast, bullied or teased

Rejoice and love yourself today

'Cause baby, you were Born This Way

No matter gay, straight or bi

Lesbian, transgendered life

I'm on the right track, baby

I was born to survive

No matter black, white or beige

Chola or orient made

I'm on the right track, baby

I was born to be brave

But its actually the BEST part. :D

This is horribile... worst gaga single to be released

SHE way overhyped this.

Thing is, SHE didn't overhype this at all. She sung a couple of bits of it, tweeted a couple times, and the rest was left to the little monsters. If anyone's to blame it's her hardcore fans.

I think it's average. And I didn't expect much from this campaign.

The melody is very similar to 'Express Yourself'... Production-wise it's quite different, yes. But it seems she is trolling the Madge fans. Expect some of them going mad really.

Four listens in, and I think I'm fine saying I more than like it, love it in fact, I agree with Tom that it's surprisingly subtle and also sincere when in action (the delivery of the 'born to survive' line gave me goosebumps every time I heard it), and yes it's bloody feel good aswell.

The real test, of course, will be the cultural impact that people (especially GaGa herself) say this song will have. It's impossible to tell that from the immediate internet reaction. I think if she manages to bring an excellent Grammy performance to the table on sunday, and she gets the critics on her side (which seems likely from all the stuff Tryon has been posting) then they could be right.

I'm a massive Madge fan, bigger than I am of Gaga and I don't have any problem with the similarities.

Madonna is one of the most iconic female pop artists of all time so it is no wonder lots of other artists (Kylie and Gaga for example)

have Madoona influeneces to their work. :)

I really like it!

However, I do appreciate that it's nowhere near as incredible as she's been saying.

This really, I don't she what she did that went beyond simple and opportunist promotion. She is guilty of calling it the "anthem of our generation" but if she doesn't believe in the power of her music, then who the hell will?

In between love it and not exactly what i wanted! From the first listen i was in ecstasy but now i expect that i will love it after a few listens and not immediately! Not the dance anthem that i wanted tbh, but still :yahoo: :yahoo:
I don't like it :( I always like her songs but this is by far her worst single!
