Take That are set to storm the stage as a five piece at next year's Brit Awards for the first time in 16 years.

The band, who recently reunited with Robbie Williams, last sang together at the star-studded music bash in 1995.

Months later Williams left the band after falling out with other bandmates.

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange performed on a UFO last year at the ceremony - reportedly to poke fun at alien-obsessed Williams.

Now the group have put aside their differences, Take That have been tipped to be serious award contenders after their new album Progress sold more than a million copies. A source told The Daily Mirror: 'Take That will probably open and have promised something truly special.'

Plan B will also join the line-up for next year's Brits, it was announced today.

The rapper had one of the biggest-selling albums of the year with The Defamation Of Strickland Banks.

The Brit Awards is scheduled to take place on February 15 and will be moving from west London to the O2 Arena.

The famous statuette will also be redesigned by fashion icon Vivienne Westwood.

Odd they got rid of the Outstanding Contribution Award - I was sure TT would get it.

Considering how critically acclaimed Progress has been and the BRITS love for Rob - it could win Best Album but I wouldn't be surprised if they won nothing. The Brits is only a bit of fun and not comparable to The Grammy awards in the US.

They'll find something to award them with. They can't fail now that Rob's back ... the Brits Panel love Rob (even if they can't stand Gary & Co).

You're right though ... to compare The Brits with The Grammy's is a bit like equating the 'Inside Soap' Awards with the Emmy's.

Kath

In general the Brits are a complete farce so i dont really care if the award take that anything or not, some of the awards giving out in the past from the academy say enough bout what they really mean.

Best haircuts? :w00t: The Smash Hits awards used to have that category I believe.

On second thoughts, Rob would have no chance with that one :D
