He's on the verge of signing for the toon, and Newcastle have stolen him from under the noses of Liverpool and Spurs. I can understand why Spurs went after him but Liverpool  I personally think that it will just have being media speculation seen as they were intrested in him before he joined Chelsea.

On the signing of Duff, I think its a good signing for Newcastle, although they really need to stregthen their defence and midfield. On problem with Duff is that he can be injury prone, and Newcastle really don't need that.

Money grabbing c**k, we offered a bit less in wages but we offered ambition and a good team and the likelyhood of CL in 2007, Fat Freddy offered Chelsea level wages and mid table football, Duff grabbed the money instead of the ambition

If Duff flops then Newcastle could eventually end up like Leeds. Newcastle have bought some flop players and have been majorly ripped off for players like Owen and Luque.

Yeah their debts are out of this world :o and instead of buying a replacement for Shearer/Owen they buy a player who plays in the same position as their player of the year last year

Just hope we bid for N'Zogbia he must be so pissed off tonight

Yeah he will be pissed off now. I know someone who is a Newcastle fan though and he reckons that they might play 4-4-1-1 next season with Duff playing as a second striker.

hmmmmm, his goal scoring record isn't that good though to be a second striker  I think he averaged around 6 goals a season for Chelsea

Oh well, i'm sure that the picture will become clearer once the pre-season programme is in full swing and whether or not Newcastle sign another striker.

Plus this time tomorrow Newcastle could well be out of the InterToto cup too so no prospect of Europe, strange decision by Duff, has to be £££££

Yeah it has to be, as Spurs are definitley playing in europe next season but anyhow I wouldn't be too bothered as Duff can be injury prone and he'd set you back around 8-10 million.

Duff has agreed to sign by the way. :D

I think we ought to start a sweepstake on BJ as to how many premiership games he will miss through injury next season ;) I say 19 :P

After today he will not have any European games to play in too

Maybe he knows he'll play more and Newcastle. Spurs have loads of midfielders.

If they get a decent striker Newcastle should do quite well considering they have a brilliant midfield now :o

Shush Craig, Newcastle are my team. :(

Much as you are  I can't support Newcastle over this ;)

And a central defence of Boumsong and Bramble and Ameobi upfront on his own ;)

It makes no sense buying Duff they are more than well covered in midfield with both N'Zogbia and Luque being able to play wide left

oh yeah I forgot about those their c**p defence  and Ameobi isn't really that great

In know a Newcastle fan and he thinks the defence is actually quite good!!!. He's a season ticket holder at Toon and he says Moore and Bramble work quite well together but i'll hold my judgememnt until the new season starts.
