Leona Lewis - Run. She really killed the song.

She took a masterpiece and turned it into another ballad just like every other song of her! Though is better than other Leona's songs!

People claim that she ruined the song. Yes the lead singer of Snow Patrol even said -

 

"She obviously studied the song and thought long and hard about how to interpret it. She's stripped it to its bare core. I think she sounds absolutely phenomenal. I'm not a big fan of shows like The X-Factor, but when talent like this comes along, I can't slate it. She's going to be around in 20 years. She's the next Whitney. She takes my breath away"

Do you actually believe that a person as kind as Gary would ever say anything bad? I'm not saying he doesn't believe everything he said but when an interviewer comes to you and asks "how do you find leona's version?", he definitely wanted to say something good for Leona!

Other members of the band werent so nice even thought they said they hadnt heard it. Why would he be so different. Or maybe he genuinly liked the version she did and was being honest about it.

He told the truth! Gary is genius and so kind. But as i said he maybe put something extra on his comment!

In my opinion, Leona was great vocally in the track, but not one in a million as good as Gary in the emotion of the song!

Because nobody knows Gary personally (i suppose) let's agree that he believes the cover was good!

I have nothing against covers, however, I don't like Run, as a song.

 

But I also don't think it's unfeasible that a member of Snow Patrol likes Leona's version. I mean, most of the artists I like have no problem complementing a song that samples one of their songs, if it's actually good, so I think he could genuinely be speaking the truth.

 

Whilst I don't like Run, what I like even less are those artists that criticize anybody who makes a cover, or uses a sample, and then whines about it for years, and years.

 

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest. :D I actually wrote out a really long rant, but I decided to cut it down, as I think it might've caused an arguement, but basically, it's nice to see an artist tolerant enough to be able to complement a cover of his song.

He's a huge fan of Leona and so is she of Gary, and they're planning to work with eachother soon so cant wait for that, both voices can convey huge emotion amazingly.

 

Chasing Pavements leading the way...love that song.
