I don't like Jedward as singers, but if their song is the best one on the night then I'll vote for them. I'd love Rté to get rid of the All Ireland Talent Show and spend that money on a proper Eurovision selection format. You're A Star may not have produced any winners, but there were some great acts that could've done very well had they had the opportunity to progress to Eurovision.

Euro song will take place on the late late show on feb 11th.

Looking forward to this, though it's inevitable that the horrendous Jedward will go through, and present Ireland with a Dustin the Turkey-style finish, despite receiving 12 points from the United Kingdom if we're voting in the Irish semi final. I just hope a song as good as Leona Daly's 2008 entry isn't robbed because of this!

Oh lol. I can see this being truly awful. :( Don Mescall was the songwriter who participated in 2006 and 2007 as a songwriter and both of his songs finished second. Haven't heard him sing yet, though. The Vard Sisters..... Eeeeek! Jedward, I like, but their song will have to be really good for me to support them. Nikki Kavanagh has a good voice, I just hope she has a song that'll do her justice. And the group.... Please be better than Wonderland :kink:

I acn see it been awful aswell, although im interested to hear nikki kavanaghs song to see what its like, but just like the year dustin was in i tink its almost inevitable that jedward will go through as they have the fanbase. Interesting to see the juries votes in the semi final in comparison to the publisc votes though.

It's clear to me now that RTE couldn't give a $h!tters about pride or any sort of decency. We tried before going for a Verkaesque entry with Dustin and look where that landed us. RTE seem insistant on pushing our chances into the gutter....

 

I'm not going to try getting too attached to the other four songs, they've lost before we've even heard them. It's just like with Dustin, such an uneven playing field. I'd be raging if I was one of the other four.

Were there juries in the selection when Dustin got sent? I can see Jedward topping the public vote, but if they do really bad with the jury, and the jury favourite comes 2nd in the tele-vote...:unsure:

Even if they are hated, they'll still get the buzz vote.

 

It's not like there's an option to vote an act down. :P Hatred amounts to nothing really....so who out of the other four will get Jedward hater votes? It'll probably be split between all four.

Nikki Kavanagh could be one to watch. She's actually really good. I know that Jedward have a hefty fanbase also, but people will protest vote against them, and I don't think the juries would give them high marks... :o

I think it will be quite fun to watch tbh :P this is what they were made to do- to entertain (just not to sing) and I'd much rather watch a novelty act making a fool out of themselves than an act that takes themselves far too seriously- they turn out more laughable than emotional :lol:

Jedward will have to perform well as i cant see the juries voting strongly for it, when justin went through im almost sure it was all public vote, this time is slightly different.
