January 17, 201114 yr Oh god, not Jedward, that'd be awful. It's something that's not going to translate at all. Sadly, I can't see any of the other acts getting the nod instead. We're doomed to Jedward.
January 17, 201114 yr I don't know - Nikki Kavanagh is written by the writers of Et Cetera and It's For You :o
January 17, 201114 yr I don't know - Nikki Kavanagh is written by the writers of Et Cetera and It's For You :o Yup, it's a serious Nordic ensemble :P One of them wrote Ola's song in Melodifestivalen last year, and I think one was a backing singer for Iceland or something? :o
January 17, 201114 yr Doesn't matter, Jedward will slew all who stand against them. They will be like a steamroller and they will crush to death the pride of our country in one fell swoop.

I'd prefer if they didn't, but I guess they're better than the turkey... :P I still can't see the juries voting for them, I really can't.

The thought of Jedward representing Ireland singing some ultra cheesy song, one wearing a neon green jacket and the other wearing a neon orange jacket sends shivers down my spine.

Lol, well Ireland have just been allocated a place in the second half of the second semi. It's quite a weak semi judging by the countries in it. Jedward could actually qualify if the song is half decent! :heehee:

That makes me think, I need to get listening to some of the songs....at least the big burst of songs hasn't come around yet. Do you have a link to the semi places? January 18, 201114 yr I'm growing more and more confident that Nikki will give Jedward a good hiding! :P She has a song called "Dead or Alive" (it's on YouTube) and I'm guessing her entry will be along the same lines as that considering the team behind it. Jedward's song is produced by the guys responsible for JLS' success :o

However, I thought the team behind Nikki's Eurosong entry was Niall Mooney etc. who I can't see producing a song like that...
January 19, 201114 yr My GOD Dead Or Alive is fantastic! Oh god it is. :o We could actually have a chance with this song.....Which will make it even more painful.....We'll be dumb and send Jedward anyway. :( Not only is it going to be Dustin all over again, it's going to be "Not Crazy after all" again. :drama: Man this is depressing... Maybe she could swing it.....but I think the judges will need to give her top marks and jedward marks as low as possible. The judges are really the only difference from then and now that could swing things. Edited January 19, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
January 19, 201114 yr I just noticed on the ireland in eurovision wiki... The Rubberbandits are also taking part, they're nearly as bad as Jedward. :drama: (To those confused, the rubberbandits are like hiphop artists that wear plastic bags over their heads) Maybe they'll cancel each other out... January 19, 201114 yr Irish people are nice ^_^ sat next to a Irish couple at ESC 10' I said good luck to them when Ireland was about to preform and he said "we might need it" :kink:

Maybe people will mistake Nikki Kavanagh for Niamh Kavanagh and vote for her loads? :P I heard someone say the name of Jedwards song is "Lipstick" Edited January 19, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf

January 19, 201114 yr Dead Or Alive isn't the entry :P It was uploaded in August 2009 so it's ineligible... Shame :( This is sorta off topic, but does anyone ever think of a song (not necessarily anything to do with eurovision) and imagine it being entered to the contest and what the dancing and stage design would be like? I do that sometimes with songs that are high in the charts I imagine them being sent for Ireland's entry.

Particularly if they're 3 minutes long - Marina and the Diamonds - Oh No! was certainly one I thought could've gone down spectacularly had it been entered last year.
January 22, 201114 yr Ya i agree aswell, i dont see why a song going to eurovision has to be different from songs in the charts, like for example rihanna;s only girl in the world is a monster hit and i think a song like that could potenially win eurovision for any country although i would prefer it to be Ireland.
