An absolute storming performance of SOS here - It was fantastic, full of energy and so great to hear something new live. Should boost sales even more. I loved Rob with his megaphone and going up on the VIP Box - it was BRILLIANT!! :yahoo:

Why they didn't do this on the XF last Sunday is beyond me. Ridiculous decision. No dancers needed for this song at all - it would have been amazing on the XF.

SOS - 76 on iTunes (midnight)

Kath

I was out tonight so missed the RVP will try and watch this tomorrow.

Edit : I've just watched / listened to the youtube clip. I think I'm happy with just the recorded version. The Flood was OK (despite the fact I don't really like the song) ... but SOS ... what was it with Mark singing into a steering wheel? And I'm sorry ... but Gary Barlow just doesn't belong in the line-up anymore. He just looks ... wrong! Jason doesn't look too comfortable either.

SOS look absolutely crazy live! I'm impressed, to be honest. :D It's such a nice refresh to hear and see something live other than The Flood.

It is good to see / hear a different song other than the turgid Flood. For me though ... the only two (three if you include the steering wheel) that looked comfortable with the performance were Rob and Mark. Howard looked OK. Jason looked terrified/lost ... and Gary, as I said before, just looked wrong.

I seriously think it may be a good idea if Take That went back to a 'four'. Rob, Mark, Howard and Jason and perhaps leave Gary controlling things from behind the scenes.

The flood was good but not as powerful as the x factor performances and sos was great i loved how it was performed. As a band they are showing great diversity which is something they have become brilliant at since they returned in 2006. I loved take that as four but i also love them as 5 aswell and the chemistry as a 5 piece is really there now and it totally stands out in all their performances now which is great.

Ther'e not meant to look comfortable , it's not the Daniel O ' Donnell show you know.... it was a great performance & Gary for change looks like he is really enjoying himself on stage these days .....

loved SOS...The Flood ..kinda meh !!! <_<

Well it looked more than uncomfortable ... Jason looked like he was crapping himself!

And the steering wheel thing was ridiculous. It looked like a leftover prop from the 'Making of a Boy Band' segment of their Ultimate Tour.

Still love the song .... HATE the performance.

Maybe if they played instruments it would look better I don't know. They're still like a boyband trying to play at grown-ups. With invisible instruments.

all part of the 'mystery' the steering wheel thing was brilliant...you need to get your imagination in motion <_< & they certainly do not look like a boyband ...rough skin & several wrinkles give it away ^_^

Loved both songs and the performance, give's you a bit of an insight to how

the concerts are going to be

They all looked like they were having fun, Robbie with his tannoy  , those people

in the box looked a bit shocked

Was brill

oh, and I'm not really a fan of Marks voice but I thought he sounded really good in SOS, the

steering wheel looked ok too!

Take That's 'making of a boy-band' segment in the Ultimate Tour utilised a similar object ... and from what I recall ... most people here laughed their tits off at it. Still ... it is nice to see Take That recycling old props and routines.

The steering wheel mic is almost identical to Bono's from the encore to the current 360 Tour. I thought it was by a country mile the best performance they have done so far since the reunion - it was totally different and full of energy and quite edgy - it was very 'out there' for TT and I loved the drum part the end - with Rob chating 'give' as Mark said 'head' right in front of the royals  - makes such a welcome change from five men just standing behind mic stands and moving away from them at the final bridge - that is FAR too boyband-ish for my liking so it was beyond refreshing to see something this different from TT. The performance just like the track was bonkers, and summed up the change in direction very effectively I thought - and far better than I ever hoped it would be. More of this please and less standing still at mic stands ala Pest$h!te :D
Take That are amazing. One of (if not the best) live act out there right now.

I thought the performance of SOS was fantastic :yahoo:

Although I do kind of agree that Robbie and Mark seemed right at home and the other 3 looked a wee touch bewildered.

Take That and robbie are both fantastic live performers who know how to deliver, and now that they are once again joined together the live performances are electrifying.

I like Mark as a performer...never noticed him that much before...maybe it's because I never watched Take That <_< ...but now I'm an avid fan :w00t: ..

Sort of ... I'd say one bewildered (Howard), one terrified (Jason) and the other a guy (probably a bank clerk) they'd picked out of the audience to join in with them.

I do agree though ... Mark and Rob were great and the song is tops!

The Flood is still dire.

I just watched this again on YouTube. And I now see the little additional word Robbie was chanting at the end. Naughty boy! :o
