So here we are at number 30 having one of the most underrated (by myself) album which took me a while to finally get to listen to let alone fall in love with it. I think that could be because i was never really keen on LCD Soundsystem before, but the outcome appears to be quite pleasant. James Murphy's vocals are pretty much perfect for this kind of music. In other words, a hit, the first hit for me since the very first song i've heard from them.

Next we have Foals' latest creation which is much more superior to their debut, 'Antidotes', despite the latter record having 'Cassius', aka the best Foals song to-date, in the tracklist. This time they've managed to get more strong tracks on the album. 'Miami' and practically total praise for it (as far as i know) speaks for itself, astonishingly beautiful and incredible track. Adding more, 'Spanish Sahara' and 'Blue Blood' are solid 9/10 moments on the record. I say the album was far from perfect and i wouldn't want it to be that. Because it's always better to have some space to grow, especially for such band with much potential.

Moving on there is a second studio album of Faroese/Danish folk band Valravn. Despite its obvious weakness as a 'whole' 'Koder På Snor' had a couple of absolutely incredible potentially topping the Year-End chart tracks, in fact precisely two. Both of them topped the chart during the year. Danish/Faroese folk is one of my most significant discoveries and passions of 2010.

Another, and not the last, Icelandic artist to feature in this chart is the incredible 5-piece band Rökkurró. This album consists of tracks practically all of which can be rated as 8/10 and more. Very consistent and quality record. One of the most melodic and powerful at the same time albums i've heard all year, as interesting and amusing as it sounds. 'Sjónarspil' stands out the most on the record, which is why it topped the songs chart twice earlier this year. Breathtakingly beautiful female vocals get a bit spiced up in the last track of the album, where a man's voice has been added, which is seen as a very interesting move by myself. However the end of the song is still sung by a woman, so they chose the way not to risk it. You don't put 'the weakest link' to the very last after all.

Next stop is Shakira's new album, 'Sale El Sol'. Must i say first it is a very hit-and-miss record. I like most of the tracks but they are not more than a 7/10 moment, apart from the ones i charted. However 'Sale El Sol' still managed to crack that Top 30, it's Shakira after all, and there are so much memories of how Shakira used to be so good appearing in my mind. The lead single which appears to be the best track on the album I loved from the first seconds but the feeling didn't last as much as i wanted and hoped for. Which is sad because the song has everything in it.

We're finally arrived. Ólafur Arnalds, the Icelandic artist to have been caught by me out of the obscurity and brought to 'popularity' of 4 million listens on last.fm. At least i hope it was me! Ha! So, this album was the first thing i've purchased online from abroad. And ordered it even without listening to. That is how much i was hyped about it. To be frank it was slightly disappointing but overall i'm glad i bought it. Just for the sake of the poster and incredibly long booklet with nothing but artwork. Anyhow the album is melodic, calm, relaxing. I expected nothing more of it.

Another album i've been meaning to listen to a long time ago but did it only a couple weeks before this moment. Must i say i wasn't expecting such a solid work. 'Terrible Love' is the obvious highlight. I don't usually fall in love with records of this genre this easily but couldn't help myself in this case. However the only letdown is the lack of 'breakdowns' if that makes sense. Where the music rises, reaches its peak - you get goosebumps in return. Then getting back to normal. Always value something like this in a song. The first time hearing 'Terrible Love', and 'Anyone's Ghost' for that matter, i was eagerly waiting for that moment but it didn't happen. A bit disappointed but that is only me. Probably the tension i am experiencing whilst listening to these two particular songs was meant by the creators.

One of the highlights of the first half of 2010, without doubt. Personally i think this is the best female noise pop band in existence. As for the album it is very easy-listening, short (which i personally consider an advantage), interesting and various (I mean look at the closing track! The 'pretty baby please don't go' line is so simple and maybe that is why i like it so much). The highlight on the record is the german language track 'Oh Mein M' which stands out in the bunch of english language songs with half of lyrics being indecipherable.

Can't really speak about this album dividing it into separate tracks. It is indeed the whole which is meant to listen as one piece. The ease with which different samples used in the album is most amusing. Highlight for me is definitely the 'I wish i was a baller' sample, along with the amazing work of making 'Single Ladies' rhythm so different from the original. I'm a fan of this person now.

A very interesting album i have to say. Probably the most interesting album of the year. Every song is so different from another, i get confused sometimes. That is why this record is as high as almost in the Top 20. I must confess though that the apperance of Kristen Bell in 'Madder Red' video made a big difference for the album's position, nevermind the song becoming my favourite, finally topping 'O.N.E.'.

Very different and interesting album. Although it dropped early this year i still can't believe how incredible it is. The album is responsible for two number ones for me this year which is quite huge. Operatic vocals is a very nice move. Longer-than-usually songs fit perfectly in my opinion, without getting boring or repetitive. I am still waiting for that opera to leak online, i wish i saw it shortly after i listened to the album for the first time.
