Posted December 31, 201014 yr Hello all! Basically, I did this last year and it will be back this year, but I thought it might be fun to run it in a sort of countdown fashion to celebrate the years chart. Basically all I've done is compile all multicharts posted in 2010 together to make one big Buzzjack EOY chart. The chart will be posted in full after the countdown, but over this bank holiday weekend I'll be running down the top 75 for you. SO, I'd like some discussion/predictions etc. to get going once it's started too! Much love, Your friendly neighbourhood JamesP (See it's things like this which is why I should have won most hardworking mod :kink: )
December 31, 201014 yr Author Perhaps if I kick this bad boy off.. POS / ARTIST / TRACK / ORIGINAL TOP 40 RUN 75. Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull – I Like It [9 wks] (21-16-14-10-11-11-18-25-30) So the first track which squeezes it’s way in is the grand comeback from Enrique, his effort with Pitbull certainly pulled off a great pop track; which you can guarantee gets the Buzzjack seal of approval as it’s male vocalised and made it into the top ten! Amazingly, this is the highest entry Enrique has, as ‘Heartbeat’ didn’t even make it in to the top 75, limping in at #84! 74. Alexandra Burke – The Silence [8 wks] (34-22-15-14-11-7-4-7-?) At #74, we have the first track to fall foul of the ‘recent’ curse; based on the way the multichart works songs which entered recently have a less chance of going in higher! ‘The Silence’ is the latest single from the Burke and is currently floating around the top ten... who knows where she could fly in next year! 73. Girls Can’t Catch – Echo [11 wks] (30-18-13-10-10-9-9-14-21-30-38) Ah, Girls Can’t Catch, another victim of the Aled/Tirren inflicted ‘POOR BRAVE’ campaign. So they lasted two singles before flopping horrifically and the inevitable label drop which followed, but let’s face it they’ve been without a doubt the most credible girl band we’ve had in the UK recently which tells us A LOT. 72. Rihanna feat. Drake – What’s My Name? [7 wks] (34-16-9-6-4-2-1-?) And the current #1 also falls afoul of the current plague; this collab for RiRi’s latest album ‘Loud’ is quite the grower and has worked it’s way slowly to the top spot in the multichart. This track did originally leak a few months back, but based on how most of Buzzjack refuses to chart things until it is officially released/begins to chart officially explains it’s low ranking here; NOT MY BAD. 71. Will.I.Am feat. Nicki Minaj – Check It Out [10 wks] (39-23-24-14-12-10-10-16-18-28) It is a monstrosity that this song (also a monstrosity, funnily enough) made it anywhere near the top seventy five, let alone beating off some of the songs it already has! This collab between Black Eyed Peas star Will.He.Is and the new flava of the year Nicki Minaj seems to have been a little hit and miss. This is about the best position the track could have hoped for in this chart though, seeing as it’s already on it’s way out of the main multichart, which I suppose is something! NO MORE UNTIL DISCUSSION BEGINS.
December 31, 201014 yr 'I Like It' >> 'Heartbeart' A good start although I don't know that Girls Can't Catch's song :)
December 31, 201014 yr An acceptable group so far, 'Echo' in particular being amazing. Judging from previous End Of Year multicharts, and how disastrous BuzzJack's multicharts have been this year though - a Katy Perry top 2 seems almost an inevitability, and unfortunetly that top 2 wont be 'If We Ever Meet Again' and 'Firework'. *continues inane bumbling about how overrated Teenage Dream is*
December 31, 201014 yr Author 70. Ellie Goulding – Your Song [6 wks] (13-4-3-2-3-3-?) Up next is another recent track, which despite not hitting #1 beats of Rihanna and Drake by a whole two places! Ellie’s certainly been a bit of a hit on Buzzjack this year, and her Elton cover for John Lewis would no doubt be higher if possible. UNLUCKY. 69. JLS – One Shot [10 wks] (36-15-10-10-11-11-13-19-25-35) JLS are in at 69! ‘One Shot’ was the last single released from debut album ‘JLS’ and is your typical boyband ballad, probably their best single to date so WELL PLAYED BUZZJACK for getting it in. 68. Brandon Flowers – Crossfire [12 wks] (33-30-24-22-27-21-9-9-9-16-26-37) Up next we have ‘Crossfire’, the debut single from Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. Someone keep Regina away, HE WILL HAVE A FIT AT BRANDON BEING SO LOW. 67. Far East Movement – Like A G6 [11 wks] (37-32-26-18-13-11-12-9-13-22-26) And 67 brings us ‘Like A G6’, probably the most pleasurable flop of the year, given that it was expected to be a standard American crossover hit. Clearly Buzzjack wasn’t a huge fan either, since it only spent a week in the top ten! 66. Ke$ha – We R Who We R [10 wks] (23-19-13-12-19-19-20-23-15-14) The grand comeback single for Ke$ha for the generic end of year re-release ‘Cannibal’ makes it in at #66 despite not really making a hit on the chart! If you ask me, it’s f***ing awful anyway.
December 31, 201014 yr Did Like A G6 not crossover to the UK then? It will probably ease to gold status here and has a top five peak  Boo at What's My Name being so low, I hoped people would abandon holding off charting songs to coincide with UK releases when iTunes made everything a lot more fluid and harder to determine specific release dates. But clearly not.
December 31, 201014 yr Author 65. Robyn – Hang With Me [9 wks] (23-15-17-7-10-12-7-16-26) POOR BRAVE ROBYN. Gotta hand it to the lass, she keeps trying, desperately putting out her album in three parts to attempt to gain a small notion of publicity; and yet the best lead single she released from all three only falls in at #65! It could be worse, ‘Indestrucible’ fell at #126, but unfortunately the tragic ‘Dancing On My Own’ is still to come.. 64. Kate Nash – Doo Wah Doo [9 wks] (31-16-12-8-7-5-6-15-28) CONTINUING THE POOR BRAVE SAGA. Kate Nash’s comeback was such a spectacular fail that nobody even mentions her as a flop of 2010! 63. Tinie Tempah feat. Eric Turner – Written In The Stars [13 wks] (30-27-27-26-14-11-11-15-20-20-20-30-40) Amazingly, ‘Pass Out’ didn’t even make the top 75 in this chart! So Tinie will have to make do with ‘Written In The Stars’, the third single he released before his debut album ‘Disc-Overy’. The track is, I’ll hand it to Buzzjack, rather good. 62. Alexis Jordan - Happiness [12 wks] (30-23-31-36-22-9-9-15-15-15-17-25-?) I really have nothing to say on this, as the song is complete dirge. 61. Scissor Sisters – Fire With Fire [10 wks] (28-20-15-16-7-8-9-14-18-29) So in 2006, we couldn’t get away from these bast*rds, with ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’’ ringing in our ears everywhere we turned, and this turned out to be no different. True, it was a bit of a flop in comparison but it was a nice enough comeback which still seems to be getting overplayed (or maybe it’s just stalking me?)
December 31, 201014 yr Glad someone else recognises that 'Hang With Me' is Robyn's best single of the year :D And I'm also pleased to hear the the terrible 'Pass Out' isn't in the top 75.
January 1, 201114 yr Author 60. Ellie Goulding - Guns & Horses [10 wks] (28-16-15-9-8-9-14-18-20-27) Ellie makes her second appearance thus far at #60 with her second single from debut album 'Lights'. Most people who dislike Ellie seem to think this is her only good single, but as an Ellie fan I must say it's somewhat NOT. 59. Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believin' [11 wks] (33-38-37-16-5-5-4-9-15-17-23-30) So 2010 was the year that bought us Glee, a show based on a group of stereotypes who performed autotuned karaoke tracks, and this one was the big hit from the show, a cover of a song made famous in the UK by another talentless twat on The X Factor 2009. 58. Marina & The Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot [10 wks] (30-17-10-8-4-4-7-11-24-39) So Marina didn't win the sound of 2010, but she was the WINNER IN SPIRIT, given how sensational her album was in comparison to Ellie. But enough of that, 'I Am Not a Robot' was this beaut's second release and is a lovely soft little song about domestic abuse! 57. Diana Vickers - The Boy Who Murdered Love [11 wks] (29-17-15-13-9-12-13-12-14-24-31) Now we all know that 2010 has been the YEAR OF QUEEN VICKERS, The X Factor 2008 finalist who finally released her debut album 'Songs From The Tainted Chery Tree' this year. This was the second single from it, but let's face it, we all know it's the most amazing song ever [/slightexageration] 56. Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed [11 wks] (27-19-19-9-6-7-8-15-17-25-35) And here we have the 'comeback' (if you want to calll it that) of Disney star Miley. This song is disgusting, no further comment needed.
January 1, 201114 yr 60. Actually this was shite. Her only good song is Your Song. Well, Starry Eyed is OK. I'd love Hurts to be in here, but I DOUBT IT.
January 1, 201114 yr Author 55. Pixie Lott - Gravity Ah poor old Pixie, it all started so well before she descended into flopdom. 'Gravity' was possibly the weakest single from her releases but alas, it flies in at #55, expect to see her higher up! 54. Selena Gomez & The Scene - Naturally The Disney chick invasion continued this year as Selena Gomez burst back onto the scene (lol haha) with this, the lead single to her (their?) second album. 53. Jason DeRulo - In My Head JAAAYYSOONNN DERULLOOOOOO. 52. Ke$ha - Your Love Is My Drug Ke$ha is back here with this, what was easily the greatest single from 'Animal' 51. Ke$ha - Take It Off AND AGAIN
