February 4, 201114 yr Author Finally! Now we need Germany to follow However, chartsinfrance has been the only site to post the merged chart, Disqueenfrance for example is still posting the top100 physical chart
February 4, 201114 yr But Germany DOES include download sales doesn't it? Just only when it's decided by the record company that a song is chart eligible. Anyway, very glad that France has finally done this. Félicitations!

Anyway, very glad that France has finally done this. Félicitations! It only includes downloads once a song is released physically. There are a few exceptions, when record companies allow them to chart on downloads alone.
February 4, 201114 yr Author Chartboost don't spam the topic with your chart, they are different charts compiled under different methods. This is for the official french chart published in chartsinfrance and disqueenfrance, with physical and download sales. Keep your chart in your topic.

I don't spam anything and certainly not with MY chart. I only say this kind of chart does already exist. I didn't know that I can say so here  The current French chart is not complete in my eyes. That's my opinion. "Offical charts" don't let me laugh :(

Half of the International Charts forum is full of your charts. Well, you say it ain't YOUR chart but that doesn't matter as everything you post is these charts. It is annoying, it really is!

"Offical charts" don't let me laugh :( No this kind of chart doesnt exist already, you include airplay, therefore it is different. And since I do moderate this forum, I say keep "your" charts in your threads. There can be a million ways of compiling charts, anyone can do it, but only charts that are compiled by a chart company that is recognised by the national phonography syndicate of each country as are considered official. I could suddenly compile one with 15% radio airplay, 20% TV airplay, 15% CD sales, 20% downloads, 30% ringtones, interesting perhaps, official no. You can continue posting "your" charts in your own threads, but don't post it in other chart threads. You should actually be considered lucky to be able to continue to post so many unofficial charts here that you compiled... If everyone decided to compile their own this forum would be even more saturated with unrecognised charts. End of
February 5, 201114 yr So many new entries!!! :w00t: Excellent move from France - thought I'd never see the day. Now we finally have a French singles chart representative of France. :D As for the whole "airplay" argument, I think the US Billboard chart circa 2002-2006 is living proof that adding airplay into a singles chart is not a good thing. Remove the airplay (radio stations can be far too biased) and just allow the actual record/iTunes buying public decide which single is going to be no. 1 instead. :D On a final note: 61 05 04 Enrique Iglesias Feat. Nicole Scherzinger - Heartbeat 77 07 14 René La Taupe - Tu Parles Trop OUT 10 07 Be Wiz'U - Génération T.e.x.t.o ^ Genuine LOL
February 5, 201114 yr Pffffffffffff :( So euphorique decides what I can post............? :naughty: There are several people here who "swear" to an "official" chart. Quote: IFPI represents the recording industry worldwide, with a membership comprising some 1400 record companies in 66 countries and affiliated industry associations in 45 countries. IFPI's mission is to promote the value of recorded music, safeguard the rights of record producers and expand the commercial uses of recorded music in all markets where its members operate. They compose the charts thus meet the demands of this club. The interests of consumers and the entertainment industry are completely ignored. The Euro 200 uses the soundscans from over 1500 European radiostations (see the rules) I am almost 30 years working in the radio business and had the necessary experience with the record industry. Believe me, there are four large companies who want to control what we hear and see. Airplay charts and additional album sales are a welcome addition to incomplete information from the record industry. (read IFPI) To compile a chart out of 4 indicators instead of 2 (sales & downloads) gives a more complete picture of the European music scene. That's my opinioin. The discussion of "official" charts is irrelevant. Keep on doin' your hobby guys! B) Edited February 5, 201114 yr by Chartboost
February 5, 201114 yr The people of France buy cds or download tracks from iTunes. They don't buy airplay - they're forced to listen to what radio stations decide is "relevant" (like Radio 1 hahahaaaa!!! :kink: ). I agree that additional album sales is fair enough if this represents album tracks being cherry picked from iTunes as again these are tracks being bought by the people of France. It's just the airplay factor that distorts popularity. Like in the UK, just because It's popular with Radio 1 doesn't mean it'll be popular with the general public. Look how many singles A-listed on Radio 1 have bombed over the years. Why? Because nobody cares about those songs enough to actually buy them.
February 5, 201114 yr Author Chartboost I'm not gonna discuss this anymore. Airplay is welcome in YOUR opinion. These are the official charts, fact. Some official charts include airplay, like the Hot 100 and the Dutch Top40, others dont, like the French, UK and German singles chart. End of story. Any further posts discussing this subject will be deleted, from anybody. Hitstastic - many new entries this week, but believe me, the digital chart is just as slow  But more relevant obviously
February 5, 201114 yr Hitstastic - many new entries this week, but believe me, the digital chart is just as slow  But more relevant obviously I hope that more artists start to release singles simultanously internationally, like 'Hold It Against Me' was. I wonder whether the same will apply with Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull 'On The Floor'. It probably won't have the same immediate impact but could still do very well initially.
February 5, 201114 yr Author Considering how well the "karaoke" version of On The Floor is doing on French I-Tunes, I'm expecting big things for her ;)
February 5, 201114 yr Great to see that they have finally combined the charts, just a shame its meant many songs of the past few years will have been denied their #1. On the Floor is gonna be MASSIVE in Europe IMO, I can even see it being a #1 in several countries too.
February 7, 201114 yr I think it'd be pretty interesting to post the album chart too, at least the international releases. People would like to know Adele is #4 and Shakira #5 for example :)
February 8, 201114 yr Author I don't post album charts. If you want to see them, you can always start a topic on them and update it weekly
