I fear it may struggle to make it to top-10 next week. It's really a big shame because Kidz-one of the strongest songs on the album. As far as I know there's no promo scheduled next week. And the video is not even out yet.WTF?

P. S. I've just heard Rocket Ship and it's amazing.

The B-Side: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wp9Chm4Ki0 . The music is great, but the voice of Gary is not for this kind of dramatic songs i am afraid. I feel like they are two songs mixed...

I don't think it would matter who sang that Iris - it isn't very good. It isn't quite the worst 'B' side they've done - but its almost there.

It'll definitely struggle. This is one occasion, when they only had less than a week to go, when they should have held off on allowing downloads. All the sales from this week are going to have been wasted on a paltry top 40 entry at best. Even with next week's physical sales added to whatever downloads they have (which will be lower than this week) I doubt they'll make the top 10 at all. I think the song will have good sales spread over a long period and eventually be quite good ... but they can forget about any impressive chart position. Its a shame really as when looked back on - people will only remember the chart position. And - like Up All Night, it will only be remembered for a lowly position rather than the great song it was and the, in general, good sales it produced.

I don't like the 'B' side. It isn't their worst but it isn't one of the best they've done. Gary's voice just sounds a bit insipid to me now.

I don't understand once again what is in their and their management head right now. They sang in Germany and Italy the Flood. I am quite angry, as they did exactly the same with Up all night. No promotion in time .....

Is some promotion for UK next week? If not, low top 20 is the most they will get.

Gary has a great voice for pop ballads (not rock) and for epic songs. Dramatic and rock songs are not his territory...

My CD Single came this morning, which I was surprised about as it was only sent thursday. I quite like Rocket Ship, it's not bad for a b-side and sounds a bit Bowie-esque towards the end. I agree though that it doesn't really suit Gary. Maybe it would've suited Mark & Robbie more.
Mine hasnt arrived yet as i have to order cd singles from uk websites so hopefully mine should arrive monday or tuesday.

   why am i not suprised.

I like Rocket Ship actually, nice that we got a new b-side, I'm not planning on buying the CD single so just downloaded the b-side separately from iTunes. As for their worst b-side, it has to be Stay Together :puke: Shame it was coupled with (imo) their greatest song.
   why am i not suprised.

And why does your response to mine never cease to make me laugh!

But of course - you're one of those who see EVERYTHING Take That do is on a par with (if not better than) anything the Beatles did. In fact - I wouldn't be surprised if you're one of those people who think that McCartney (and Lennon if he were alive) could learn something from Take That!

You really do make me laugh. Why dont you add something constructive to this topic rather than your constant moaning about every little thing. <_<

I don't moan about every little thing. You on the other hand rave about every single thing they do.

OK then - I'll humour you! Rocket Ship is absolutely the best song I've heard in my life. Its right up there with Stairway To Heaven, Yesterday, A Day in the Life, Lets Spend The Night Together, etc, etc.

Is that better?

Its called enthusiasm...if you dont have enthusiasm for what Take That are doing then you are in the wrong forum! -_-

Kidz also debuts at number 22 in the Scottish Charts

I think they should manage top 20 now although the release seems a little all over place for some reason, i think if handled a little bit better it might perform better, i wonder is any promo lined up next week?

I actually do think that Kath :heehee: I like The Beatles but god they're the most overrated act in music history :P

I hope so, i mean at the moment they have 3 versions in the iTunes top 100 but its hard to tell how the physicals will do.

There are no promotional appearances to my knowledge lined up which i think is absolutely awful by their management, especially if you compare to the amount of promo for jls' new song last week. Maybe it's because Robbie is in LA and they obviously cant appear as a 4 cos the British media will have a field day but if that is the case then the video should be out now at least :/

It'll be such a shame if the song hovers around the lower 20's cos as a single it is one of their best and if IWFL can make 17 with no promo at all then surely Kidz must be aiming for that minimum

exactly, i agree with you 100% :P

Its frustrating that such a good song as Kidz is destined to miss out on the top 10 due to lack of promotion. If the video had been released a few days ago, a performance on Dancing On Ice, Lets Dance for Comic Relief and they could be right up there but no.
