I'm with Chris on this. At first I didn't believe that they had rushed it, but after seeing the latest episode I am sure they have done. It's such a good concept, but there's so many holes. It just seems that either the production company or the BBC pushed it through quicker than it should have been. It's such a shame really as the show itself has such huge potential.

The characters are all so just very cliche though, which is my main problem. I mean the Fleur and Cass love thing is just tedious to watch. So many shows have done the whole 'WILL THEY WON'T THEY' get together so much that it has been done to death now.

Unfortunately the pilot was just a horrid mess really. The entire focus of the pilot was on a character that dies, and they developed his character so much and left the rest of the actual main characters as sub-plots really. Bit of a shame, but like someone said above - I don't think the UK can really do sci-fi, it just looks so cheap and corny dompared to the big US budgets. Saying that, the world is crying out for a new big sci-fi/supernatural show now that the likes of Heroes and LOST have finished/ been cancelled - don't think Outcasts will be it though.

Agreed. The whole idea seemed very promising although, to agree with someone else, I did wonder why everyone on Carpathia was British or Irish. Did the whole of the rest of the planet get obliterated? It just hasn't lived up to the promise, which is a pity. I'd like to see it given a chance of with a second series but I suspect that won't happen.

Yeah there will be no chance of a second series. Must have cost an absolute bomb to make and the ratings are awful. The creator was really annoyed though, as he seems to strongly believe that the last couple of episodes are brilliant. He could be right or he could be wrong, but it won't get a second series no matter how much he begs. The BBC have really tried to make an alternate new show, but I think they are going to have to rely on an import for another big hit. Are the BBC not currently producing some programme with some American broadcasting company?? I could have sworn they were. Surely if the BBC want a hit anyway, they will bid the license pays money away to secure the rights to Terra Nova...
