Commentary : Brand new number one, five new entries and five songs climbing more than five places in an active week on the chart. Alexandra Stan climbs to the top spot with "Mr Saxobeat" which is also turning into a major European hit. Bruno Mars has two of the five high climbers with the resurgence of "Marry you" climbing into the Top 10 together with "Liquor Street Blues". Two house tracks also enter the Top 10 with the sampling of Anita Meyer's "Why tell me why" and Vaya Con Dios' "Nah Neh Nah" on DJ Frank's "Discotex" and Milk and Sugar's "Hey Nah Neh Nah" respectively. Meanwhile Mohombi's " Dirty Situation" for which there's a French version as well as an English version goes from 10 to 4. Five new entries this week and there's a diverse selection. Reggaeton in the form of Plan B's "Si no le contesto" and no it's not the London rapper who had the top song in my chart of 2010 with "She Said" but the Puerto Rican duo who have used the name since 2002 who, judging by the you tube hits seems to have a bigger following. The second highest new entry is from Romanian dance act Akcent who previously charted in my chart with "Thats my name" and "Love Stoned". In at 18 is French soul in the form of Ben L'Oncle Soul with a very Motown sound on "Soulman". At 19 is US rock as the Billboard hot 100 hit from Kentuicky band Cage the Elephant enters with "Shake me Down". Finally at 20 is hip hop from Lupe Fiasco as he sample's Modest Mouse's "Float on" on "The Show goes on".
