Predictable set of winners, but I do think (well, apart from maybe Best Director) the best persons/films etc. won in their respective catergories. It was great for the Brits to triumph. I enjoyed both The Social Network and The King's Speech, and in terms of budgets/cast/money it really was a David vs Goliath battle, so I'm pleased The King's Speech won.
I dont know why Christian Bale won he totally over-acted in the fighter quite hammy performance  Ultimate boxing actors Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone. Glad Colin Firth won shame Helena Bonham Carter didnt win she deserves a oscar for past roles at least
I still don't believe she deserved that Oscar. All the fuss has been on her too much. I don't think any other performances by a female this year were actually looked upon. I think people who saw and liked Black swan instantly decided, oh she'll an oscar. It annoys me because i have seen damn sight better performances by an actress over the past year and in the history of oscar winning performances.

Really? I thought Natalie Portman was brilliant. She played the role very convincingly imo. Also, the work she had to do to train as in ballet as a total beginner must have been horrid and v.hard. I believe it is so hard to pick up ballet if you don't start at a young age. Mila Kunis should have got a best supporting actress role mind. I don't think you can really compare her performance to other previous winners too, I mean that's just like saying that 'The Silence of The Lambs' is a better film that 'Forest Gump' ...you can't compare, because they're both totally different films.

Natalie did deserve it, she didn't win every major award award solely based on the hype surrounding the film. Her performance was excellent, the entire category was excellent.

I never compared her performance to anyone particular actually. I said it isn't an oscar worthy performance compared to ones i have seen in the past. I named no previous best actresses winners to compare.

That's something I'll never understand. Actors winning an Oscar because of their previous work, and not the work they are nominated for.
