February 6, 201114 yr Hey Richard, a top 75!!! :o  There's lots here I've not heard and will either check out on YouTube at some point, or hear on one of the music channels in the coming weeks. 2. Adele - Rolling In The Deep (3) (CR-20-13-10-7-8-13-3-2) So much for that #8 "glass ceiling" you mentioned 4 weeks ago. :P I'm really pleased for Adele as 'RITD' has rightfully become her most successful single in Europe and I suspect it'll outsell 'Chasing Pavements' too. Maybe even 'Make You Feel My Love'. Plus, with the album selling another 135k in its second week, I think it's safe to say Adele will own 2011. 5. Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (2) (CR-3-1-2-5) 1wA5pGlYz_E It's coming... :o 'Hold It Against Me' still sounds brilliant and there's no doubt once the video premiers, the track will definitely receive a sales boost. 13. Jessie J feat B.o.B. - Price Tag (Re-entry) (CR-38-OUT-13) What a contrast from the horrendous 'Do It Like A Dude'. Jessie J finally releases a "song" and gets her well deserved first UK #1. When people started raving over Jessie J last year, I honestly didn't get the hype. I was basing this on 'DILAD' and thinking "wtf? :manson: ". However, Kelis did this by releasing 'Bossy' ( :puke: ) then 'Lil' Star' ( ) and also Gwen Stefani went from 'Wind It Up' ( ) to 'The Sweet Escape' ( ) so it seems Jessie J isn't the first female artist to release some utter $h!te followed by a brilliant slice of pop. 14. Tinie Tempah feat Ellie Goulding - Wonderman (20) (CR-16-16-OUT-20-14) For me, this is verging on becoming Tinie's biggest hit in my chart but it'll be very on par to the success of 'Written In The Stars' which climbed its way to #4 for me. I might chart this next week as the tracks shot up 40-14 in this weeks UK chart, whilst it's still listed for official release in early March!!! 17. Alexis Jordan - Good Girl (NEW) (CR-17) I'm really not taking to this song anywhere near as much as I did with 'Happiness'. It's ok but for me this isn't anything special. Though I've not heard the Freemasons Remix yet and they tend to create gold mixes. 27. Clare Maguire - The Last Dance (Re-entry) (CR-13-15-OUT-27) 28. P!nk - f***in' Perfect (Re-entry) (CR-18-18-OUT-28) I'm not entirely sure if Clare Maguire will become a popular singles chart act but I really like 'The Last Dance' with its subtle synths and soaring chorus. It actually reminds me a bit of 'Human' by The Killers in the way it builds up. As for Pink, 'f***in' Perfect' is much better than 'Raise Your Glass' and deserves to be the bigger hit of the two. Pink has done incredibly well with her Greatest Hits era bagging herself a US #1 and currently #2 and 'Perfect' might even climb to no. 1 in the US Billboard Top 100 next week. 30. Jennifer Lopez feat Pitbull - On The Floor (16) (CR-11-16-30) 'Lambada' meets 'Stereo Love' via J-Lo. To think I actually thought Jennifer Lopez released some great tracks in her early popstar days like 'Waiting For Tonight' and 'Ain't It Funny' (the original latin pop version, not the tragic Ja Rule remix). Then you listen to some of the material she brought out between 2005-2007 and it was crap. This is sort of back on form but I'm unsure just how well this will do in my chart to be honest. 38. Noah & The Whale - L-I-F-E-G-O-E-S-O-N (NEW) (CR-38) After they scored a massive #2 hit with '5 Years Time' I never expected Noah & The Whale would score another big hit for me - they just seemed like one hit wonders in 2008. However, 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.' really is brilliant. It enters my chart (albeit a week late as I'd forgotton all about this last week  ) at #6 and is definitely going to stick around for a while. 41. Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (NEW) (CR-41) Who'd have expected this to become such a massive hit in Australia - the dirty Oz. :kink: Well, look at their current top 3 single; 'S&M', 'Dirty Talk', 'Tonight (I'm f***ing You)'. With a top 3 like that, I suspect there's gonna be a lot of babies being born in 9 months time. Apparantly this is getting released here in a fortnight but considering I've seen the video a grand total of 0 times on our music channels, I'm sure this will bomb. One thing that does irritate me slightly about this song is the weird female whaling bit. What's all that about? 43. Take That - Kidz (Re-entry) (CR-18-18-OUT-43) If rumours are to be believed, 'Kidz' has been confirmed as the Comic Relief 2011 single. It's probably the best move as Comic Relief singles tend to do well and it'd help Take That score another reasonably big hit (I'm not sure if this would be #1 purely because the album has sold near 2 million copies already). Then again, maybe the record company will release an "easier to digest" radio edit rather than just releasing the 4:45 album version that nearly 2 million people already have. 46. Rihanna - S&M (NEW) (CR-46) Easily the best choice for third single following the massive success of 'Only Girl (In The World)' and 'What's My Name?'. Again, the power of the music video can really boost a songs popularity. Even 'Who's That Chick?' is enjoying another boost in sales following the video finally being added to UK music channel playlists. Rihanna is such a dominant force at the moment - a bit like Lady GaGa in 2009. 47. The Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough (NEW) (CR-47) Not heard yet. Is this a cover of the Depeche Mode track? Is it anything like 'The Time (Dirty Bit)'. Now is your chance to sell this song to me Richy. :P 51. McFly - That's The Truth (NEW) (CR-51) I've got to give McFly credit, I found their sound got really tired back in 2006. Their whole pop/rock style just seemed so irrelevant which explained why their fanbase #1 singles rocketed down the charts so fast. Now they've successfully reinvented themselves and this is another great slice of pop. Not quite up there with 'Shine A Light' but I'd say it's on par with 'Party Girl'. Funny that just as McFly start to get really good, they stop scoring UK #1 hits. :drama: It's A1 all over again, only they split up not long after they released their best single. 60. Chase & Status feat Tinie Tempah - Hitz (NEW) (CR-60) Not heard but I automatically love the title. When I see comments like "Hitz is A-MAY-ZING", I think "yeah, I know I am". I'm so bigheaded. :P If 'Hitz' is released as a single and makes the top 40, I will change my username to Hitztastic to commemorate this. 75. Tiesto vs. Diplo feat Busta Rhymes - C'mon (Catch 'Em By Surprise) (NEW) (CR-75) I know you're not the biggest Pitbull fan but 'Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)' is still doing really well in my chart. I'm aware it has some terrible lyrics, but the production and the chorus even with its heavily vocodered vocals are the makings of an anthem. I never thought I'd see US rappers getting influences from European dance music but I definitely welcome it. Step forward 'C'mon (Catch 'Em By Surprise)' which is the perfect sequel to 'Hey Baby'. The instrumental is excellent, those dark gritty synths and the pulsating bass makes for a great backing track and Busta Rhymes 180bpm rapping works really effectively on the track.

I was hoping you'd have forgotten about that comment! I honestly thought #7 was its peak but then when I got the album it worked so well in context that I started to love it even more  13. Do It Like A Dude was a massive red herring, I can enjoy the wrong in the right situation (i.e. only ever in a club), but Price Tag is something I'd actually choose to listen to. I actually loved Wind It Up by Gwen though  14. You may have to do away with your release date charting policy what with the new 'on air on sale' rule, your chart might start to look historic like France's did until last week! Otherwise you'll just start charting Wonderman when everybody else has already moved onto his next single! :P It's easily my favourite single of his! 17. I'm finding it to be a big grower, I didn't think much of it at first but it's definitely another 'gets better with every listen' situation 28. Strange that she should do SO well with a couple of token GH tracks - they never tend to do well! The album's spending its 12th week in a row at #1 in Australia! Still got 20 odd weeks to go until she beats Delta's record with Innocent Eyes though :kink: 30. I agree, her 1999 material was great but I never cared for her after that really, those 'remixes' of her songs which were actually different songs altogether were very odd... 38. 5 Years Time was even a top 5 hit in my chart (rare for an indie act I know!), and this I like a lot too, although not quite as much. They've actually had a couple of other top 20 hits in my chart - Shape Of My Heart and The First Day Of Spring, so they're no one hit wonders here! 41. I noticed their top 3 this week was that! It's as bad as our Eamon/Frankee situation in 2004! 43. Seems like an interesting move seeing as new tracks/covers are usually used for Comic Relief. It's definitely one of the album highlights though! 46. It's nowhere near being my favourite on the album, but yes I can see that it works well as the third single, if only for its lyrical matter! 47. Nope, nothing to do with the Depeche Mode song thank god, it's actually a pretty decent original song imo! 51. It does seem rather ironic doesn't it - this is their third decent single in a row but none have troubled the top 3 in the UK, let alone #1...oh well, at least Shine A Light was a big seller for them and not their usual flash in the pan crap. A1 have at least picked up where they left off with the likes of Take You Home and Don't Want To Lose You Again, which could have quite easily been follow ups to Caught In The Middle, but which also don't sound too dated. 60. It's not the best song of the year like many are proclaiming it to be, but I like it!
February 7, 201114 yr Hey Rich!:D 5. Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (2) (CR-3-1-2-5) 9. Diddy-Dirty Money feat Skylar Grey - Coming Home (8) (CR-6-3-3-4-9-5-8-9) -Quite a good song here! 11. Dr. Dre feat Eminem & Skylar Grey - I Need A Doctor (NEW) (CR-11) 12. Taio Cruz feat Kylie Minogue & Travie McCoy - Higher (Re-entry) (CR-19-9-9-5-12-OUT-12) 16. Rihanna feat Drake - What's My Name (9) (CR-8-3-2-3-5-3-1-2-2-2-1-1-2-4-9-16) 17. Alexis Jordan - Good Girl (NEW) (CR-17) 18. JLS feat Tinie Tempah - Eyes Wide Shut (11) (CR-9-6-8-15-OUT-11-9-11-18) 33. Mohombi feat Nicole Scherzinger - Coconut Tree (17) (CR-12-7-7-17-33) - As I said last week, I am loving this song!! 41. Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (NEW) (CR-41) 46. Rihanna - S&M (NEW) (CR-46) 47. The Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough (NEW) (CR-47) 66. Wiz Khalifa - Black & Yellow (NEW) (CR-66) - This song is getting airplay in Australia and I like it, I think it will do good in my chart once it enters so hopefully it does the same on yours. Good decision to make it a top 75 chart :D
February 7, 201114 yr Hey, my comments this week: Great to see you're doing a top 75 now :o :D 6. Stella Mwangi - Haba Haba (NEW) (CR-6) It has to win, surely! 12. Taio Cruz feat Kylie Minogue & Travie McCoy - Higher (Re-entry) (CR-19-9-9-5-12-OUT-12) I much prefer the Kylie version, by far the best single Taio's released 17. Alexis Jordan - Good Girl (NEW) (CR-17) I'm not sure if I've heard the radio edit, or whether it's the Freemasons Mix. Either way, it's very Sophie Ellis-Bextor . I love it  24. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Taken By A Stranger (NEW) (CR-24) Love this  . It simply has to be the German entry this year. Do you have a link to the album download by any chance? 29. Mimi Blix - Allergic (NEW) (CR-29) Such a shame this has already crashed out of MGP 36. The Sounds - Better Off Dead (NEW) (CR-36) I used to really like The Sounds, but their last album was so boring :( 54. Sigurjón Brink - Aftur Heim (NEW) (CR-54) Quite nice, but it doesn't deserve to win the NF 61. Patrick Wolf - The City (NEW) (CR-61) I don't like it as much as Time Of My Life, but it's still pretty good. Looking forward to the album! 64. Helene Bøksle - Vardlokk (NEW) (CR-64) Grown on me loads since I first heard it, but it'll do nothing for Norway if they send it to Eurovision 67. Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir - Ástin Mín Eina (NEW) (CR-67) Lovely song, not as grand as Nott, but I'd prefer this to win over Sjonni's Friends. Sadly, given the running order, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion they'll be representing Iceland 71. Eveliina Määttä - Dancing In The Dark (NEW) (CR-71) One of a few good songs in the Finnish selection. Really disappointed about the quality of the Nordic selections so far :(

Eveliina Määttä - Dancing In The Dark (NEW) (CR-71) One of a few good songs in the Finnish selection. Really disappointed about the quality of the Nordic selections so far :( Thanks Ghosty, I felt like I had to - ESC season gets ridiculously busy :drama: 6. I have no doubt that it will, it's as much as a favourite as Fairytale ever was - except I can't see it doing quite the same in Eurovision... 12. I think I still prefer Come On Girl, but it's definitely his best single in a long time! 17. It's massively growing on me, I didn't care much for it at first! 24. Yep, I'll PM you shortly with it, I'd be happy with either this or A Million and One as the entry. 29. I know, but it was expected I guess - what a dreadful final Norway have this year save from a few songs :drama: 36. I never heard it, but I really like this song! 54. I agree! 61. This is growing on me but I agree that it's not as good as Time Of My Life... 64. I still like it, enough to put it in my top 75 anyway, but I've never found it amazing. 67. True, how bizarre to have the running order as the order that they appeared in the semis  If they didn't want to fix it like MF, why not just do a draw to make it fairer on everyone. 71. I have to admit that I've not heard anything else from the Finnish selection, I only liked 2 songs in last year's and haven't exactly heard glowing reviews about this year's line-up. Do you know what the favourite to win is, I might have a listen.

I do think the artificial clapping used in the backing track really helps to create a greater atmosphere too. 24 - Thanks :D . Taken By A Stranger doesn't sound quite as good in studio form, but it's still my favourite  . I shall be importing the CD off the German Amazon in a few weeks time! Randomly, I found a promo CD of Touch A New Day for 20p in a charity shop today  Shame they didn't have the Satellite single too :( 29 - Quite, but looking at the running order they're definitely favouring Helene, Stella and Hanne. I'd be happy with any of those three. 67 - It's quite bizarre, and the fact they put the two female ballads together really doesn't help :( 71 - I have no idea, all the songs I thought were favourites have gone out  . The only two left in the contest I like are this one and Father Mackenzie.

I could feasibly see it being a hit across Europe in the summer too - the only slight niggle I have with it is that you'd never know it was from Norway, like you would with Alexander Rybak/Christine etc... 24. It seems strange to already know the whole album before I've had a chance to listen to it in full  Oh really, what a find! What songs did it have on it, only Touch A New Day? 29. Interesting that Hanne's on last! I thought it would be Stella (best chance of success) or Helene (most respectable song)! 67. I agree, Iceland really have no idea whatsoever sometimes  71. I'll give that one a listen at some point, but I'm not expecting to like the Finnish entry this year, but then I rarely do anyway!

February 9, 201114 yr I Need A Doctor is a great track, although Dr Dre's part bothers me somewhat... Finally "Good Girl", "Dirty Talk" and "S&M" chart :P 3 fab songs :D Good chart ;)
February 9, 201114 yr Author Thanks CJ and Dre! Ha, well it looks a bit silly this week because Good Girl, S&M and Dirty Talk have all been on my playlist for weeks and technically would have been in the chart had it been a top 50/75, but I have to put them as new as they don't have existing 'chart runs' :heehee: I agree about Dr Dre...Should have been Eminem feat Skylar Gre imo, Dre doesn't really add anything to it at all. I don't see why we need to hear his 'response' in the record, we all know who Em would have been talking about anyway.
