Emma‘s Imagination - Stand Still

Shame Anna Abreu dropped straight out :( It's still growing on me! When I first heard it in fact I thought 'Ghosty might like this more than me', it seems very 80's influenced! Anyway, my comments;

 

01 (02) Bermudaz ~ Dreaming Of Bermuda ~ 5 [5-3-1-2-1] Well this has grown on me loads! Nice to see it get a second run at the top!

03 (12) Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir ~ Nótt ~ 3 [48-12-3] Knew it would make your top three eventually :wub:

05 (41) Stella Mwangi ~ Haba Haba ~ 2 [41-5] Major climb for this! It's so feel good and anthemic, could go down very well in ESC and give Norway yet another respectable finish. Such a shame that Sweden have an amazing national final and send an unsuitable winner to ESC, yet Norway have a much worse national final yet nearly always seem to get it right with the winner, making it look like Norway are a stronger musical force when this really isn't the case at all :lol:

Yeah, for some reason I couldn't get in to this Anna Abreu song at all :( . It might be because I could only find a medium quality version of it.

 

01 - Great to hear :D . I'm loving it, and I hope it gets some more fans through BJSC.

03 - Indeed :wub: . I really hope the English version of it surfaces at some point if she doesn't win the NF!

05 - It could do very well at ESC. It's got a lot of charm to it. It is such a shame Sweden nearly always pick the wrong song. As far as I can remember, they haven't picked correctly since Carola :mellow:

12 - It is very good, and I was so surprised to see it come from Isconia, who I believe is Grebo? :unsure:

14 - It's finally clicked :lol: . I expect it will rise into the top 10 next week, although there is quite a lot of competition.

15 - Good to hear! I really like it, but I think they could have ended the first chorus a little better.

16 - I'm glad this made the final, it was the most contempory song of the evening, and we need more songs like this in Eurovision to convince the BBC and Britain that the contest is evolving.

21 - It's a good song, but she put no effort into the live performance. I don't think she actually sang a note :blink:

26 - It's picking up pace online now, EQ featured it last week and it's been added to iTunes in the Nordic countries I believe. It could be a hit here if they re-record the male vocals and make them more subtle.

41 - Agreed, I prefer the song after the first verse. The whole "Twinkle Twinkle" thing came across as a bit try-hard, but the song evolves into something special after the opening few lines.

50 - I can see why. They are trying to "do a GaGa", but it's quite an epic fail :lol: . I'm sure it rips off a Justin Timberlake song too :unsure:

For 2007-2010 I'd have personally picked Sarah Dawn Finer, Charlotte (what do I know, I'm as bad as the Swedes :heehee:), Alcazar and Salem Al Fakir but they should have picked Mans Zelmerlow, Sanna Nielsen, Caroline Af Ugglas and Eric Saade for their best positions. Their best chance of success in ESC always makes the top three in MF, but never wins it...

15. I thought the same thing, it feels a bit rushed which is why I sometimes wish the 3 minute rule was abolished. Poor Jenny, she makes 99% perfect songs with a minor niggle that brings everything down a bit (like the missing bar towards the end of A Place To Stay :lol:).
