Well, she has been away for far too long and it is time for the Other Minogur Sister to make a music comeback.

But how should she go about it? Who Should she work with?

I'd like to see Dannii work with:

Ed Drewett - His musical style is kinda similar to Dannii's stuff and I think they would work well together, plus he has some great, if a little odd

song writing skills which would work with Dannii. If you don't know who he is, he had a (flop yet fantastic) single called Champagne Lemonade.

A duet with these two would be amazing I think.

David Guetta - Not a duet as such but he really does make great dance music, might be a bit stale now but his work with J-Lo (On The Radio) and Madonna (Revolver

One Love Remix) are really good.

RedOne - same kinda deal with David, i can definately see Dannii do something like On The Floor (Jennifer Lopez's new single)

Stuart Price - Obviously would cause critcs to call her a copycat but if he can help Kylie make he rbest album yet then he can do wonders with Dannii.

Jason Nevins - Touch Me Like That remains her best song ever and I wanna see what else can come from this partnership

And an outsider:

Olly Murs :kink: - just a one-off song with the two of them, for laughs like.

If she plans it well, she can really have a great comeback. What does everyone think? What can she do?

Dannii is better off making as much money she can off the X Factor.

OR TEAM UP WITH...

She needs more than a smash hit to have a sustaining long-term singing career and that's all I've gotta say.

Touch Me Like That was average at best imo, she's done way better.

I think at this point only a collaboration with some superstar could rescue her career.

You won't forget about me is probably the best song she's ever done so far, along with the video.

I don't think she could ever make a great comeback to be honest, not that I don't want her to but I think her music time is over.

I think Dannii should make a cool, dance-pop Christmas album!

Seriously. Half original songs, half dance floor updates of established updates. Maybe a Kylie duet. Maybe a duet with an act she has mentored. Released mid-November, promoted with a big yuletide medley on The X-Factor.

Yes, it's a sell out, but I can see it selling loads. She can say she's doing it for baby Ethan. From that she can parlay her way into a new record deal in 2012.

Huh? Are you being serious or kidding?

Deadly serious.

Fact - at this point in time, no record company is going to give her money to make an original album.

Fact - she's on the biggest show in the country which happens to air at the end of the year. It's an opportunity to do something, at least.

Fact - Christmas albums sell. Nobody has really done a fun, dance floor one (have they lately?). She can re-release it every year.

Fact - if she prove can make somebody money - even at Xmas - then she might get one more chance at an actual recording career.

Nope, not fact. People are willing to give her a chance, especially in the last 2 or so years.

Your idea sounds totally silly.

My idea is based on economic reality.

Dannii has never sold well - hence the number of times she has been dropped from labels. And those were the good old days - now even major artists are struggling. Look at Kylie - has Aphrodite turned a profit yet? I doubt her label will be rushing to invest in a follow- up.

If Dannii were to get another traditional deal it would have happened in the past four years. So, on the topic of how she could make a great comeback, I say go with something cheap and foolproof and the rest may follow. It hasn't harmed Mariah's career.

If Dannii did a Dancey-X-mas album then her career would be dead and buried forever.

As for Kylie, Parlophone wouldn't drop her, she is more likely to leave them after the hash they made of Aphrodite.

 I was loving this post until... "Christmas Album."

I have underestimated the Dannii love here. Sorry - I'm American - that's my excuse ( though I did live in the UK for many years, so I like to think I know a little about the Minogues)

To clarify, I don't actually want to hear a Christmas album from her. I just think she's running out of options and this is a good, safe bet. It's hard to sell anything nowadays. I'd like to see her succeed at something.

Re Kylie and Parlaphone, I don't think they would drop her either. She's still a big name. But I don't think the label made a hash of Aphrodite. They hooked her up with great songwriters. It was well promoted. Times change, she's simply lost popularity. The ducks dont have to be lined up any more. Many artists can get to number one prior to even releasing a video.

I think you've overestimated the UK and its willingness to buy into Christmas albums. I know in the U.S. artists like Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey have released Christmas albums but it doesn't really happen hear and I don't think it would be successsful.

Parlophone aren't blameless for Aphrodite; Kylie was right when she said it was like releasing music in the 80s, they didn't seem to think that the musical landscape had changed e.g. downloads etc and messed up the releases.
