I'm pretty sure that their management is the head of Fascination? I swear it's Peter Lorraine and co?

So realistically, nothing would be any better because all decisions would have to go through him anyway..

I love them but they have always been a bit of a 'lazy' band. The only time I've ever seen them do AMAZING promo is Missing You.

As far as promo for the single/album goes, off the top of my head, all I can remember is a radio tour about 5 weeks ago and Alan Carr.

They probably have been given promo slots, they just couldn't get them all together. They all seem to have different days/weeks off and I'm not sure why.

^^ What I just wrote up there.

When they where with Jayne, and Fascination actually existed, it was up to Jayne to organize the promotion etc, and their team at the label would have co-worked with her to come up with a marketing strategy, so no, Adam was not directly involved with their schedule as such.

I find the promo blitz they did with Missing You completely biased as they where filming '24/7' at the time, so they had to look busy. There's no point in filming the 'UK's biggest girl group' just perform on Daybreak and do nothing else.

When The Saturdays were with Jayne, I get the feeling she was still finding her feet as a manager. I think her expertise was more in casting than management.

It seems that she took the errors she made with The Saturdays and made sure not to make the same mistakes with The Wanted. You just have to look at The Wanted's second album era - no launching off the back of one single for them!

As a slight side note, the 'Fascination' thing... so that's definitely a management name now? They sure do need to update their website details in that case, lol.

I think looking back at 'The Saturdays', the thing that will sadden me the most are just the poor single choices. It just boggles the mind to look back and see FIO as the lead from Wordshaker. For me the Chasing Lights campaign was perfect and really set them up to be a huge pop act. But FIO just ruined all they had created (I do like FIO btw) with the pop sound of Chasing Lights. They are very lucky though that 'Ego' did so well. But there are so many great songs from Wordshaker that could of made a great album campaign (JSYK My dream album campaign would be 4 singles and a combination of Ego, Here Standing, One Shot and Lose Control) When it came to Headlines, I'm not sure what else they could of done differently. I think Higher is the better single of the two of this era but Missing You was so summery it could only realistically be released then and Missing You was close to getting No.1 as well and Higher went on to sell really well. Leading onto OYR, just hearing the clips it does seem very bizarre to release Notorious and All Fired Up as they are very dancey and the album is more pop with songs like 'Get Ready, Get Set' and 'White Lies'. Just from their singles choices it seems like they are fighting against being a pop band and they try and reach a new audience/sound (Which isn't a bad thing in places) and that always seem to be moderately successful and then they fall back on their amazing pop song which does great but never reaches its full potential. They've done it twice with the rockier sound of Forever Is Over and then Ego. The Synthy/trancey Missing You and then Higher and then now the dance Notorious/All Fired Up. It's sad because I'm convinced if Ego was the lead single off of Wordshaker they could be bigger then they already are right now  I don't know if that made any sense as I wrote this at 3am lol It just my ramblings of a few things I've been thinking lol

Anyway I can't wait to hear this album in full  'Get Ready, Get Set' is amazing!

I don't really agree with much of that... for one thing Get Ready, Get Set is every bit as dancey as All Fired Up and of the two, the right one was released. I would agree that Forever Is Over was met with a very muted reception although I can't understand why, seeing as it's a FAB song.

It had nothing to do with the track as such, but more as the single if that makes sense.

They failed at closing off the Chasing Lights era; the public where still buying Chasing Lights, which at times was charting and selling more than Wordshaker. The 2 month gap between Work and Forever Is Over was too short, and it didn't help that Work and Forever Is Over where at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. They went from a colorful-coordinated image, to a more sexy image complete with PVC (Work) to mature pop-rock (Forever Is Over). Their images couldn't have changed faster if they tried.

I think it was a massive balls up that Jayne was trying to sex them up (she said in a flip around 'Work' time that we where going to see more of "sexy Saturdays"). She changed their image too fast.

Sales for this weeks albums (just thought people might be interested - taken from the Sales thread in the chart forum)

Not sure on sales figures for the artists without the figure next to their names.

Looking at these sales, this week it took 40k+ for number 7 and up, which I can't see On Your Radar doing... I know it's different release weeks and artists obviously but it's still a potentially helpful guideline.. think we're realistically looking at positions 8-11 with 35k sales max?

1 Susan Boyle 72,745

2 Michael Buble 61,535

3 Florence + The Machine 58,278

4 Cher Lloyd 55,668

5 The Wanted 47,530

7 Andre Rieu 40,321

8 Noel Gallagher

I'd say they're good for top 10, I still think #8 with about 30k sold. As long as the album makes it to gold by years end it won't be too big a disaster.
well if they can't even get top 10 with a single, and they are a singles act, i don't even wanna think of where OYR will chart :(
I will literally be AGOG if it doesn't make the top 10. Even bloody WORDSHAKER did, obviously we don't want to compare it to that lame duck too much but if it can, this definitely will. Whether it has any longevity is an entirely different issue.

I don't feel confident. Sales in two weeks time will be somewhat higher, and I'm not sure that 30k sales will be enough for Top 10. No doubt in my mind that they'll need to sell more than double Wordshaker's first week sales to even attain the same position.

I'm also worried that if the (music buying) public don't seem overly aware of 'My Heart Takes Over', then they'll be less aware of the album.

Like anyone else here, I hope for the very best - and God knows the album sounds extremely worthy of being a huge success - but my expectations at this stage are low. :(

I know I'm overreacting but it really feels like everything is falling apart for them now. :(

They performed Faster with their dancers at the Album chart show last night. Airs Saturday morning on C4. JLS and Olly Murs were the other artists performing too.:)

WOW 'Faster' needs to be the next single, maybe that can turn there major frown upside down!

Pixie's position (#13 in today's midweeks and she's going to fall until Sunday) shows us how the Saturdays will do next week. I expect something like #15-20 for them too. And they'll need a MASSIVE hit single in the beginning of next year to outpeak their initial position in the album chart.

Given that this album is going to be their strongest ever, there's something really wrong with them image-wise.

I was just going to say about Pixie's album, I'm worried for the girls with the album now if Pixie's not doing great, especially with the girls going up against 3 big acts in Westlife, Rihanna, One Direction plus Kate Bush who usually gets into the top 10 albums... and then once you factor in previous weeks releases I'm not confident or optimistic about next Monday at all. Without a strong single leading the album now we've MHTO underperforming, I think it's going to fall flat on it's face sadly. :(

I don't see what's wrong with their image this era though. It's not a full on/sexy image a la Wordshaker, to me it looks like a more 'mature' progression on their Chasing Lights and Headlines image.

Why are you comparing The Sats to Pixie? She's not significant here.

That performance of Faster is brilliant! Rochelle's vocals where flawless  . She needs to be the lead singer. There is no way in hell Vanessa would be able to do what Roch did there. And to add to that, I can't believe that Vanessa couldn't even 'pull off' Frankie's chorus; Not that I'm saying Frankie could do it better (we wont know untill she actually performs with them again) but it's getting very boring to hear Vanessa do all of her higher range in falsetto. Not that she can use it any other way however..

The dancers where a great addition and it really added to their stage presence. It also gives us a nice flavour of what's to come from the tour too.

I understand the Pixie comparisons, to be honest. We can only wait and see what happens next week though.
