That is what we like to see! :D

Anything that sounds like Dont Hold Your Breath would be amazing - it's been around for how long now, 2-3 months? And it's still my favourite single of 2011 so far, just a genious track!

I also really like 'Lose My Mind', I'm not really into 'The Wanted' but I must admit that song is good :P But lets hope they come up with something twice as good for The Sats!!

Looking at the first post and seeing those writers and producers is making me SO excited!!! They really do seem to be pulling out all the stops for this new era and I really do feel like it's going to be an amazing year for them! I'm getting such good vibes about it!

Can't wait to hear Notorious!

Apparently Tim Deal wrote/produced Mighty Rivers by Kylie.. nice song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlrKTOrXfYs

A not-confusing tweet from Una.

On the way to a shoot for promo pics for our new single! Not long now and it will be hitting the radio.. Just under a month to go!! :)
A not-confusing tweet from Una.

Wow; this is a first :P

I'm very excited for this too, under a month to go before it premieres

It seems to be very odd how they are going about with this single. But then again it is 'the Saturdays', I should know better by now. :P But from that tweet by Una and Alex & Lucy from in demand radio it looks like the single will be sent out to radios in mid May, with the single now being confirmed for release on 30th May. But we might not have to wait that long to hear it, I'm not sure but wasn't 'Price Tag' by Jessie J premiered in November? or at least around to listen to then. Maybe they are going to do the same thing. Premier it themselves and send it off to radio later, but whatever is going on it is very odd and makes me feel very nervous! But they must have a plan for the single as they could of easily done the normal release schedule for it.

The song was promoted by Jessie J then debuted on the radio & the day it debuted on the radio was released Sunday.

Seems Notorious will only have like 2weeks on the radio - not sure if it's a good or bad thing!

It seems very odd that they're waiting to send it to radios 2 weeks before the release. The video is shot which I was hoping would come after the radio premier but there's no chance of that happening now. They certainly know how to kill the hype.

I think what they might be trying to do is if the radios add it all at once, they've got a greater chance of debuting high on radio airplay. And if they debut the video well in advance before the radio premier, then there will be more demand for radio to play it. Remember Missing You? That strangely got to #1... for 2wks.

I don't get what you guys find so weird about the release of this, this is gonna be the normal now, premiering the song and releasing it straight away is what on air/on sale is. Videos are gonna come either with the song release or shortly after.

I know what on air/on sale is. I've been breathing it down this forum for the past month or so saying it's still unconfirmed if they're doing it and they're not. They're not doing on air/on sale as the radio premier date and release date is 2wks apart. That is why I personally find this odd. It's as if they're trying to do on air/on sale without actually doing it.

Radio stations had played Price Tag months before it officially went to radio and on sale. Mainly the remix with Devlin, and her solo version.

I think it's a very good strategy not to release the song straight away but hold it up a bit. On Air - on Sale doesn't work at the moment in the UK, see even GaGa's latest single, Judas, being out of top-10 already, and I'm not sure it'll recover properly afterwards. But combining OAOS strategy with the classic stratedy could do wonders for the single. I'd say the song should go onto iTunes when the video is released.

On air/on sale dosen't lean towards new artists favors. Even though The Sats have been around for 3yrs, they're not the sort of artist who could pull off on air/on sale off personally. It would work, but it'd probabbly still have low sales and a low peak. They're the type of artist that need a good solid campaign with plenty of promotion. You could say they've been doing on air/on sale ever since Issues was released, and any single after the album has been released; But for a lead single, I'm not too sure it'd work. Especially since their lead singles don't help the respective album that much.

Yes, I was going to say that. :P

We're again on 'chart peak vs. sales' issue. 'Missing You' and 'Forever is Over' got excellent peaks but 'Higher' and 'Ego' despite barely making the top-10 outsold them and were bigger hits after all.

And they didn't have an album-selling single since 'Issues'.

I think I'd more like a #10 lead single with big sales rather than even #1 lead single with bombing down in the chart. That said, they need a #1 record for a change too.

if that rumour of the first single sounding like "bottle pop" and "g6" is true. I think thats great. That sound in my opinion is excatly where they need to go a more more mature sound and less cutesy and girly sound

Here's an interview the girls have done with Digitalspy. I've just cut it down to questions about the new album though

What can we expect from your new album?

Mollie: "We've grown up a little bit now and we're starting to write a lot more. We've been doing this for a good few years so we have a lot to say! We haven't finished the album yet so we're still experimenting."

Una: "We want to put the best album we possibly can out and we want it to be way better than any of our other albums, so we're just going to record loads and loads and pick from them. We're really part of the creative process this time."

Is 'Notorious' indicative of the album's sound?

Rochelle: "Not really. We love that song, but there are others we like that are a different style and so there will be some ballads on there. In terms of it being a step up, then yeah, definitely. It's not all the same kind of feel."

How much of the record are you writing this time?

Una: "We've been in the studio writing loads, but we're also going to go somewhere quite remote for a week and just work on loads of songs together. We've probably written about five or six that we love and would like to see go on the album, but we know we can do even better if we just sit down and get the time."

What kind of music is influencing you at the moment?

Rochelle: "There's no one specific influencing us - we kind of go into a studio and pick a beat we like and build up from there. We've not really thought about other artists' songs really."

Mollie: "Because there are five of us, we split up and write in twos or threes and I think lyrically we've got so much going on. Even though we spend a lot of time together, we still have five separate lives and so we have so much to talk about. We never run dry on lyrics as there are so many dramas going on in our lives - we're five girls after all."

What producers have you been working with?

Mollie: "We've worked with Steve Mac, who we've worked with quite a bit in the past. We're also working with Ina Wroldsen and David Eriksen who have done a lot of our previous tracks. And Brian Higgins too, but we're going to be working with more people in the next couple of weeks."

Do you have any collaborations planned?

Rochelle: "There are lots of people we'd like to work with, but it's just down to timings. There could be - watch this space."

What a great interview! Now I'm so excited about the album!

This sounds like the big step forward that Wordshaker tried to be.

Why am I getting this awkward feeling that they've binned the tracks they did with Taio Cruz and Alphabeat?
