i just knew saturdays fans will mention s7

i love saturdays but your post is too stupid

How convenient that you erased the message of other user saying this was doing worse than Sweet 7, I guess that makes your post completely...pointless?

On Your Radar 18,044

Wordshaker 15,021

What happens now?

(Just if anyones interested, Nickleback charted at #10 this week with 34k sold - sad to think that's what some of us were predicting before release week :().

They have to make sure they don't fall off the spot, they need to keep up a small but steady presence in the media...they'll get press coverage for the tour, and they should send a new single to radios ASAP.

They were blasting this out in my HMV today, was a nice surprise.
I don't see why they shouldn't be able to achieve a good first week. They're proceeding this album with three singles, presumably My Heart Takes Over will be a Top 10, so they've set the album up as well as they possibly could have, hit wise. I think they're in a much, much stronger position for this album than they were with Wordshaker.

Well I jinxed that.

Adele sold 41,430 at #9, so they seriously needed to up their game with this album to even reach the same peak as their first two albums. They're just not cut out for the fourth quarter. Perhaps they should have learned that from 'Wordshaker', but I suppose two years on they were confident that three singles proceeding this album would guarantee a hit album for this time of year.

The thing what helped Headlines dropping like a brick was Saturdays 24/7 It helped it enter the top 3 and helped them remain stable as they always managed to climb +6 places on Friday-Sunday.
18K isn't awful, they just need to make the right moves to salvage the album. If my memory serves me right, Nicki Minaj debuted with 13K or so, and I think she's on 200K+ now (Don't quote me on this!). That just shows how much ONE good single (Superbass in this case) can do. I know that she was less known than The Saturdays at that point but I think more people knew Pink Friday was being released than On Your Radar, I don't think that many people outside of the hardcore fanbase even know about it, they didn't mention it in interviews, just singles & the tour.
I've been as optimistic as possible up to now, but 18k and a likely drop out of the top 40 this week is a disaster. I can't see it recovering at all really, maybe a jump when Faster (assuming it is single 4) kicks in, but by that point it'll be way down the charts anyway so sales will be minimal. IF this reaches gold I will be amazed. Either way, their time is up.

I've got to say I hated Notorious when it premeried, then I thought it was a nice (AKA listenable, not good) song, but now I listen to it and I absolutely love it!!! It has taken about 6 months, but better late than never!

Also, just seen that Digital Spy have put Faster as one of their ''10 tracks you need to hear''.

This would be the perfect album without I Say OK.

:o It's one of my faves! I think it would have been perfect if My Heart Takes Over was replaced by Turn Myself In!!! We can all dream. Haha!

I was the same with Notorious, was kinda meh about it when i first heard it. I love it now though and I went out last Friday and randomly heard Notorious when I was out. It sounded amazing especially the "I'm the big boss, I'm a outlaw" bit

The album is already reduced to £4.99 on Amazon. Thats a bargain price after only being released last week. I have a feeling they will do a christmas hits next and then split unless there is a major turn around in fortunes for this album.

I just listened to ' On Your Radar ' again and it's an absolutely fantastic pop album. I still can't get over that ' Do What You Want With Me', ' Faster ' and ' Get Ready Get Set'. All songs were smashes waiting to happen and would have been perfect single choices for this era.

I think it speaks volumes when three+ non released songs are much better than 3 released singles released in the ' Living For The Weekend ' campaign (30 Days, Disco Love and Gentleman)

Only Get Ready Get Set is better than Disco Love and Gentleman, tbh.

' Get Ready Get Set ' is better than every Saturdays' single minus Higher , All Fired Up & What About Us.

Yes, but my point was that Do What You Want With Me, although very good, isn't exacly better than Disco Love or Gentleman or any more single-worthy or anything. Same for Faster which is very good, but a bit overrated. Get Ready Get Set on the other hand is just bliss. Brilliant pop song.

I CAN DO IT WITH MY HANDS TIED BEHIND MY BACK, YEAH, I KNOW YOU GONNA LIKE IT LIKE THAAAAT.

I think 'Faster' would have been the perfect album launch and would have outperformed ' Gentleman '. 'Gentleman' has ruined Saturdays' radio airplay and IF ' Disco Love ' under performs then I doubt radio (radio1) would bother playlisting them again.

But that's not really down to the quality of the song if the radios play it or not. It would mean 30 Days is actually better than a track like Gentleman (or Disco Love) because it had a peak of #19. That's actually nearly as good as the All Fired Up peak on radios. We don't want to go as far as this, do we.

Faster is a great song, but if it had been released after the album, it would have flopped even harder. 30 Days was the oh-so-awaited new first single from their upcoming album. Faster (or any other songs, including Get Ready Get Set) would have been the fourth single from the flop album On Your Radar released on the back of a flop single called My Heart Takes Over. The odds radios would have played it were small.

As the launch album, it's a different story. It's sad we cannot know these things for sure. :( It could have worked...Maybe not. We really don't know and we will never know. All these releases, all these new singles radios had to play. Maybe it wasn't a matter of a song, but more just a bad timing. Really we can't know for sure. :/

What I'm pretty certain on, though, is they would have been better off if the album had been released on the back of All Fired Up. -_-
