Posted July 26, 200618 yr How much has she done so far on dowloads? since it was put on Itunes, (from the end of June or sometime ridiculous like that! ) do we know?!?!
July 26, 200618 yr Off hand I wouldn't know, hopefully Sunday evening/Monday morning we should know how much from the Music Week sales report, hopefully they post all the relevant sales info for the track, unless somebody else knows different.
July 26, 200618 yr Looks like Christina's chart position may be effected by realeasing the download so early. The same thing happened when Will Young released Switch It On. As the single is just an ambassador for the album I don't think CA or her label will be too concerned.
July 26, 200618 yr Author Even so, I hope all record labels learn from this BAD mistake, theres releasing a single early, and theres releasing a single EARLY!
July 26, 200618 yr Crazy was released to iTunes further forward of its releases date and still managed to get 18 places higher on its download only week... ^_^
July 27, 200618 yr It must have sold about 45,000 downloads so far. It's been selling something like 8,000 to 10,000 per week. It went to iTunes so early to match the download release of the download in the US, so that is didn't lose any sales to illegal downloading. The record label should have released a physical single sooner, it probably would have been #1 by now.
July 27, 200618 yr I know a lot of people still see singles having long chart runs and being top 5 important, but from now on it's going to be so different with early downloads and we're just going to have to get used to it, it'll make the singles charts look ridiculous some weeks because of it though. For instance Chico outselling Robbie and Justin.

But doesn't just take away the whole point of the weekly top 40!?! aren't the charts surpose to depict which songs the nation have been buying the most in the week, now a single which has been avlible for download weeks before it's release date (and which probably would have sold the most, if it wasn't avalible earlier) will lose out! to like you say someone like Chico!
