I live in LA and thought I'd start this topic!

Kylie has a great little profile here, but her bottom line is not good - ie record sales and touring receipts. And let's be real - unless that situation turns around, we won't see the level of promotion she received for Aphrodite again. So what can she do?

My first random thought is this - get onto the Bravo cable network. She's a perfect fit for their sizable young-ish, liberal (and yes, somewhat gay) audience. Why haven't we seen her as a guest judge on The Fashion Show, trading quips with Kathy Griffin, or chewing the fat with Andy on Watch What Happens Live?

Secondly, if she hasn't tried already, throw her hat in the ring at Glee (before that particular bubble bursts - and it could be within the next year).

For the record, Billboard disclosed the following data about her Soundscan era sales this week:

Albums

1,159,000, "Fever," 2002

177,000, "Body Language," 2004

50,000, "Aphrodite," 2010

50,000, "Ultimate Kylie," 2004

42,000, "X," 2008

Songs

531,000, "Can't Get You Out of My Head"

134,000, "Love at First Sight"

66,000, "Get Outta My Way"

63,000, "Slow"

56,000, "Come Into My World"

She has tried and tried so many times over the years, it really isn't very worthwhile trying again. She has a little fanbase but that

is probably all she will ever get :(

I think Kylie and her fans realise america is just not her market, over years she has had some successes there but overall she has a small hardcore fanbase there. Maybe for selfish reasons i think kylie should concentrate on the markets she is very successful in and mazimize her success there.

Kylie could make it in America and she already did it twice. so i don't think it's that hard for her.

The problem is that she was too busy concentrating on other markets and neglected the Amercain audience.

No one can be succesful in America without actually staying there for a while, just look at the foreign artists who made it there: Coldplay, Natasha Bedingfield, Jay Sean , Sade, Susan Boyle etc... they all spent a lot of time there promoting.

Kylie never did any of that, that's why her career stalled over there + plus she chose the wrong singles to promote , eg: Slow, All I see, Get outta my way which are not destined for US success...

she should've released 'Cruise Control' ftr Sean Paul fom the Body Language era, or 'Speakerphone' or 'In My arms' from 'X' and 'All the lovers' fom 'Aphrodite'.

She went with the wrong singles and NO promotion and still managed to make it into the top 20 in the US with 'Aphodite' which is no bad thing at all!!! so she actually does have a shot at making it there again, even if the age factor works against her.

I would argue that Kylie did decent Stateside promotion for Aphrodite. Dancing With The Stars is huge. She also did some late night shows, plus a lot of Internet. The result wasn't great in terms of sales - but it's kept her profile alive. She is famous here - if only for the fact that she's more famous elsewhere.

Realistically, I'm not sure if Kylie will ever have more hit records here but I can see her having a successful Vegas show, which she has been quoted as saying she's interested in.

Most of those foreign artists have since flopped in the US :P especially Natasha.

Also, age isn't really an issue, Jennifer Lopez is 41 and has a top 10 single there, a song that could easily be done by Kylie. The US just don't seem to adore her en mass.
