Because they're audience don't want it? I'm sure they can justify it, there have been plenty of number ones from the past 18 months they haven't playlisted but there haven't been any loons complaining about those!

I didn't call you a loon. It's just something I've observed - that a lot of die hard Shakira obsessives keep complaining yet I've never seen it for anyone else. And what's c**p for you is good for others...

It's not just Shakira fans though. Hips Don't Lie is a popular song - it's not like Radio 1 refusing to play Chico - this is a big song. It's just surprising really.

I wouldn't call myself a Shakira obsessive. I like her song and it seems a lot of other people do too, otherwise is wouldn't be staying at the top or almost at the top of the chart for so many weeks.

 

Pity Radio 1 can't see that. Though goodness only knows why, since they've been playing it once a week at the top end of the Chart show for several weeks.
