Happy Now has been placed on the Radio 1 C Playlist from the March 30.

Interesting how it is now starting to pick up airplay, apparently I was hearing from a source I found on a site (im looking for it atm) that Take That are considering releasing a new album altogether instead of a tour edition Progress as they have more songs now than the '5 or 6' that they had when it was revealed they had begun working together again.

SO perhaps this is the final single from Progress then??

Hope not to be honest!

That should help happy now out build up a few extra individual sales but will help progress shift a few more copies aswell. God i wouldnt mind a full new album so quick but id be surprised if it does happen, but if they have 6 new songs they may aswell do 4 more and release a new album rather than progress deluxe as progress has done the business sales wise as it stands. Take That always tour new albums though so again i wouldnt be sure of it happening so quick.
I'd LOVE a new album so soon. They might as well strike while the iron's still hot for them as a five piece and if they've got an album's worth of great material just sitting around why not?

i wouldnt say no to a new album but i would hate for it to be rushed for the sake of just getting another album out, as they usually take their time when doing albums.

Happy now still rising, #81 now on itunes.

I don't think they do take their time with albums really, from what I can make out they usually spend a couple of months over the summer writing and recording before the album is released at the end of the year. I think it's just because they take huge breaks that there are two year gaps between albums, they don't spend those two years making them like some artists do.

This is true. It seems like they say 'right - we'll spend June, July and August writing and recording and then put it out ... whether or not'. Its more of a workmanlike approach rather than an artistic method. I'm not saying its bad - just not as creative.

I think with bands like take that they have to produce albums sightly quicker than bands on other labels, i think with take that they have to keep albums coming at a quicker pace to keep the record company happy, take that are aalso a priority at their label so im sure the record company are keen on albums coming to ensure the money keeps rolling in.

To date that strategy doesnt bother me as i have been happy with all the releases so far, it will be interestiing to see though if a new album including robbie will come this year.

I would also love to know how thw contracts are working,i know when take that reformed they signed a 3 album deal, they now have 4 albums released and a possible 5th coming very soon, i wonder did they sign another 3 album deal?? There is no doubt a new greatest hits album will also come at some stage and again i wonder how they work work out paying the dividends from that now that robbie will have some involvement in that aswell?

WOW this single's (MORE than the last! + STILL with decent promotion!! especially considering the size of the lead) really interesting the real music buying GP - WHAT a complete joke of a nostalgia FEST - all the hall marks of a TRUE GIMMICK act on the SUPER EMBARRASSING scale - NEVER would such sales be reached without the crazy "Xmas" impulse en masse buying and excuse of buying music for indulging in desperately needed romantic (ie DRAB realism instead of sensory blasting fantasy)/sexual escapism from the dearth resulting from practical and/or psychological reasons. Then dispose + forget of dodery (apart from the 2 dancers) TTs existence, back to the drudgery/closeted existence of real life till their next album/tour is wheeled out.

While during the REAL music buyers charts for the rest of the year TT increasingly bombing single chart runs( with little resulting album push as an excuse) and tellingly sluggish post Xmas period album (rest of) sales have (unsurprisingly) contracted over year after CONSECUTIVE year to show their Emperor's new clothes of lack of credibility, record breaking sales majorly independent of musical relevance. It must be getting to the point where TT releases to REAL music buyers is digging in more to profit than its all worth - i can see their "pop entertainment" output being restricted - THANKFULLY - to the Xmas period only, along with the HIDEOUS (NB with record breaking sales too) Xmas novelty records - WHERE THEY BELONG + are JUST as SOCIALLY STIGMATISING... http://s17.rimg.info/0b0db618ea3038e3e91d946793f7479f.gif

Ya calm down indeed, its only a song and a band, we understand the band or the music isnt everyones cup of tea, but i dont get why you might think they will be doing novlely records when they have never done so in the past.
